Given the alchemy theme, I wonder if there's a way to transmute iron into platinum that they're trying to represent here

Might be superficial though. Hymeno needs someone who sparkles on both the outside and the inside. Preferably someone who lives on her planet and in her universe, since long distance relationships are difficult enough already.

Who's to bet Houtaro might become either a Malgam or possibly a Chemy?

My bets for as a Malgam, Houtaro would have a killed Hopper1 turn him into one, when he has deep malice within. His love for Chemies is strong, he'll end up turning into one to take revenge on the alchemists who hurt them.

Hotaro's already technically become a Malgam.

The production site states that Iron Gotchard is closer to Malgam than Rider, the only reason Iron Gotchard is even considered a Rider at this point is because Hotaro has no true malice within him. His bond with Steamliner is also noted as to why Iron Gotchard is still a Rider technically too.

TbH, I wouldn't be surprised if Houtaro IS a chemy. Like, we know there are 101 chemies. We know all 100 (10 of each Lvl for Each of the 10 Classes). Houtaro as a child had been in the Ouroboros Realm, he had been protected by Rinne's dad, just like the other chemies. He lacks malice, which humans inherently have but chemies lack. He is able to communicate with them, and so many more things. I'm Calling it now, Houtaro is the 101st chemy.
