Pedal 02. The characters are annoying, the show is slow and the humour is bad but they've mastered the art of forcing you to watch the next episode.
|
Watched the third episode of Akame Ga Kill...it's like the animation gets worse every episode. The ridiculously dark tone and the concept of the Imperial Arms makes me want to keep watching though.

Zz Gundam episode 34
It's Kamille! And... I don't give a shit. If Kamille can't talk then I don't care. Fuck you Tomino. |
Working my way through the second episode of Tokyo Esp, it doesn't have an original bone in its body - dunno what this makes me want to watch more, X-Men Evolution, Danny Phantom or Darker than Black. I just know I'd rather be watching those than this.
For a modern anime it's pretty decently animated and the ladies are pretty, so I feel unfair dropping it after two episodes but I'm not exactly in love with this yet. |
Gundam 00 ep. 10. I've switched over to the dub now, and it's actually pretty good. I'm surprised that Nadeela (?) gets used so early, I was expecting them to save it until the finale. Also, someone needs to overlay that scene where the Virtue turns into the Nadeela with audio of Kabuto casting off. It's the first thing that came to mind when I saw it.

Careful with that. It almost borderlines to politics.

Oh, right! First of all, streams of Tiger & Bunny 2 have been getting put up. :3 Gonna watch it this weekend.
Also still making progress in Durarara. And my earlier complaint got answered almost immediately afterwards heh... Up to episode 17 now. And following along a lot more easily. |
Let's see what I have decided to check this season!
Aldnoah.Zero: It's an Urobuchi show, it has mechs, if you are in this thread you know what it is. So far Aldnoah comes across as an excellently crafted mech show (good animation, great soundtrack, nice pacing) but at the same time it has yet to find an identitity that separates it from the hordes of mecha shows out there, the third episode showed hints of this, with Inaho analyzing and outsmarting the enemy instead of simpy beating it via Super Prototype, but at this point I'm not completely in love with the show. Also I'm not exactly sure what are they trying to do with Inaho's stoicism, I just hope it goes somewhere soon. Sailor Moon Crystal: I have virtually no experience with the franchise, but from the first two eps I can say I appreciate all the conventions it set for the magical girl genre, and I can't stand Usagi's voice. The style is interesting, but the animation has constant problems and the CGI transformations don't look very good either. Glasslip: It's an anime about... the crunchyroll thumbnail had a girl doing sciency stuff... so science I guess? Romantic comedy? Maybe? I haven't actually checked it, this is just a reminder to myself to do so. Love Stage!!: Izumi Sena is the youngest son of a family dedicated to the entertainment business, however after being forced to dres up as a girl and act for an ad 10 years ago he was mentally scarred and has decided to pursue his own path in life, that of a mangaka, only problem being that he is a terrible artist, a fact he seems oblivious to. His relatively calm life gets upside down when the same magazine asks him to act again for their 10th anniversary, something that his family won't allow him to escape from, as if that wasn't enough his co-star is still in love with "her" and has no intention of wasting any time. Let's get the obvious out first, yes this involves crosdressing, and yes it is boys love, but the amazing humor and incredible sillyness aren't dependant on that fact, the show is a riot from start to end, yet it never feels too over the top, it's a really fun ride, and one people shouldn't miss out just for fear of the different. Persona 4 The Golden The Animation: Persona 4 is a RPG, Persona 4 The Animation is the adaptation of said game, Persona 4 Golden is the enhanced remake of said game, Persona 4 The Golden The Animation is the adaptation of the remake of the game. Let that sink for a moment. For all uses Golden The Animation feels like an unnecessary show, and in a way it is, but the show is aware of it, this is a New Game Plus, it has no intention of telling the story again, it simply has hilarious scenes and counts the story of the new character Marie. If you enjoyed the game or the previous anime this will give you good laughs, if not, don't even bother. Akame Ga Kill: Tatsumi is a young boy on a quest to bring money to his village. ... sadly he end up being robbed, taken by psychos and faces a group of amoral assasins all in the same day, for better or worse said group of assasins (Night Raid) will become a part of his daily life, and nothing will ever be the same. I enjoyed the few chapters of the manga I've read, and the anime does a pretty good job of adapting em, the cast is funny and interesting, the action is gory but solid and while the antagonists so far feel very unidimensional the world they've set up does leave room for more interesting ones down the road. My only gripe is the clash of animation styles, the regular style clashes with the comedic or more dramatic ones. |
The new episode of Space dandy.

Just finished Tiger & Bunny: The Rising...
Wow, those parts with Fire Emblem... Did not expect them to go there yet I'm sort of glad that they did. It was overall pretty good. And I'm glad Lunatic showed up. Now if they can make the next movie entirely about finally confronting him for real and exposing him to at least Kotetsu... That would be amazing. |
I would actually like the next movie to tackle Ouroborus.

Fate/Stay Night news!
This sounds pretty cool to me. So the new anime will basically be the old movie but with proper pacing and a chance to actually flesh things out. Which I'm kind of okay with since I didn't much care for the ending of the route they chose to adapt the first time. And a Heaven's Feel movie sounds great. |
So I watched Gundam 00 ep. 11-13, and Build Fighters 8-11, and I'm probably going to drop 00 in favor of BF. BF has far better fight scenes, and they're much more frequent/longer. And it's not just the action sequences, even the story is more entertaining IMO. As for the episodes themselves, I'm surprised that there are so many big gunpla in BF. First the two ships, then that massive Zaku at the end of ep. 11. If those kind of Gundams are legal, then why didn't Sei use a PG Strike as the base for his Gunpla? It was said early on that the quality of the kit influences it's performance, shouldn't using a higher quality base model increase the gunpla's effectiveness?

A PG may lead to a sturdier unit, but it's also a larger target and a less mobile one. Plus the kits need to be constantly repaired, and buying multiple copies of a PG would leave Sei in bankruptcy. At least that's how I see it. |

Still does not change my opinion one bit that Lunatic should be the focus. |

Watched Build Fighter 12-13. Well, that baseball episode sure was... something. It's definitely the most unique episode yet. On the other hand, the everyone vs. Mega Zaku episode was awesome.

Haven't even finished the first episode of the Watamote dub but I can safely say that Monica Rial as Tomoko is the definition of perfect casting.

Also, just finished Mitsudomoe and oh my god my sides! :lolol |

So after finishing Mitsudomoe, I finally cracked under the pressure of waiting for the dub of love chunibyo & other delusions and I'm watching it as we speak. The narrator for the first episode has me thinking "Am I watching Gaim right now? :lol". All in all, the first episode was good and I look forward to watching more. :D

Skipped over ep. 14 (didn't feel like another non-battle "battle"), and watched ep. 15 of Build Fighters. And that Build Strike vs. Fenice battle has to be my new favorite part of the series. Even ignoring the fact that it's the first time we've seen the Fenice in a proper, one-on-one on-screen battle, the fight itself was probably the best in the series, beating the last Build Strike vs. Zaku Amazing fight because the whole battle was actually shown.

Saw BF ep. 15-16. I was surprised that the Maoh vs. Strike battle had arrived so soon, but I suppose it was inevitable. Also surprising was the GM only lasting one battle. Doesn't that make it the only gunpla with a HGBF kit to not be in more than one battle?

Alright, done with Durarara!! What should I watch next? Haha.
