I'm glad that Adventure 02 is not being ignored. I never get the hate for it since I remember no one hated it when it was airing until a decade later. I love the cast from Adventure 02 since Davis was my favorite as a kid.

People also really hated Tamers from breaking Adventure's story line and being different.
It's all about the retrospective. I loved 02 as a kid (Except the ending. I always disliked that). As Digimon moved on and fans revisited the past series, a lot found 02 to be lacking. The characters don't offer anything new, just being expys of our old cast (Despite our old cast being present), the story was somewhat creative, but kept falling over hurdle after hurdle (Mainly due to poor explanations), and then pull what Frontier did years before Frontier was a thing by making the main cast beyond the main 2 worthless. Wrap that all up in a Saban cheese dub (Though much better than Adventure's) and you have a mediocre series that some look back on fondly, others, like me, purely despising it.

The biggest issue for Adventure 02 for me was Malomyotismon. Why bring back Myotismon again as our final villain? Not to mention the idea of happy thoughts that can hurt him was stupid. It felt like something written for a Care Bears villain instead.

I've been making some progress on Frontier lately. I'm right at the end of the Cherubimon arc.

I like Frontier. Story's alright, characters are alright. I like the companion Digimon a lot. But god damn. I knew I would from the moment I started watching it, but I despise how the character focus really has gone to shit. I mean, I can understand when only the main two reach the highest level of evolution in a season with a large cast--that's how it was in both Adventures, and really, whatever, it's not ideal but it's bearable.

This thing. This thing where Takuya and Koji don't evolve one level higher than the others but two is just terrible. It's even more so because they do it at the expense of the others. It's such a stupid ass way to do a show ostensibly about teamwork and friendship and it sucks so much. (I especially like how Koichi became irrelevant thanks to this literally two episodes after he turned good, because screw you I guess. Where did that whole "the only thing that can defeat him is true darkness!!!!!!" thing even go anyway). That stupid filler episode with IceDevimon that was basically all about "look guys, these four are totally not completely irrelevant now!!!!" didn't fool anybody.

(IceDevimon's barely an Adult Digimon, what were they even trying to prove. Bigger threat than Cherubimon my ass.)

It's so stupid. So stupid. It's like there's just enough things I enjoy about it to keep me from saying "fuck Frontier," but seriously, fuck Frontier on this respect.

Digimon's odd obsession with the main 2 characters makes series like Tamers and Savers, where they don't leave everyone out, all the better.

Concerning Frontier, I really feel that the story just kind of falls flat after Cherubimon is defeated.
