Today I received a blast from the past in the form of a figure I had wanted for almost the entirety of the last ten years: the RX-93 Nu Gundam from the Extended Mobile Suits in Action line (EMSiA or EMIA for short). From time to time I will get on here and lament how great these things were, and how the current Robot Damashii line just does not quite reach the standards set by this short-lived line.

Behold. Notice the grit of the plastic, the panel lines, the weathering. How the white isn't "WHITE", but off by ever so slight a tone. The small details that make this figure burst with character and realism. There is a reason that, to me, EMSiA was the pinnacle of Gundam figures.

Black should work fine. You'll need to do a lot more than lining, btw. I'd recommend a full gundam marker set to fill in the large quantities of missing color.


Also, a few new P-Bandai kits got revealed. HG Cathedral Gundam (the one the Denial's based on), HG Hi-Nu Influx (presumably from the BF manga), and HG Droin III (also probably from the manga). And a MG Heavy Gundam (no, not the one from Wing. This one.)

I am really surpirsed about how much detail Drei lacks. Granted, the last it I built was an RG, so the build process might seem faster to me, but this kit seems to lack a lot of stuff other kits do, like shoulders able to move front and back.

But I am glad I got it, as I can represent one of my favorite 00 characters now.

It's not just you, the Throne are super outdated. I was going to pick up Zwei at one point, but I was turned off by how much detailing was missing.

On the plus side of Drei, I can finally recreate one of my favorite scenes from Gundam 00 in model form. Unfortunate that Drei's arms and leg's don't have the exact same position as they do in the show due to limited mobility, while my RG Exia was damn near perfect.

All that's missing is that spider mobile armor thing Al-Sachez was in.

More or less, it's official name is Drion III, and it's a P-Bandai exclusive.

Black repaint is nice I guess, but it takes a lot of the super robot charm away from it I think. I'll stick with the standard one.
