It's been building up for 30 episodes now. The plot should have started kicking off in the early teens.

Started watching Gekiranger a few days ago, up to episode 11. The series so far has been pretty good, although I think Ran and Retsu are interesting, but kinda generic characters, the stars of the show are clearly Jan, Rio, and Mele. Geki Elephant was pretty cool, although going into it, I expected Elephant, Shark, and Bat to show up a lot sooner.

Got to Episode 15, pretty great, I liked the Bodygaurd guys, pretty good villains. Also, was kid Jan played by the same kid as not-Wataru?

Up to Episode 25, Gou is another great addition to the show, and I guessed that Retsu's brother was GekiViolet when they first brought him up and mentioned that he was "Like a Wolf." Also, Rio is possibly one of my favorite characters, and not just on Gekiranger.

On Episode 25 or so of Gokaiger. And hoping, very hard, they direct translate Basco somehow into SMF. Sally, not so much. But after seeing her in action I understand now why she's a Figuarts Zero figure. She doesn't move much out of that squat pose anyway.

Got to Episode 35 of Gekiranger, GekiChopper's an okay character, I like him, but he's definitely my least favorite of the five. Them taking down the Kenma was awesome, I loved how it pretty much showed how they had grown throughout the show, and Rio telling Jan to take out Maku, even though that was his goal, just because Jan had recognized his strength was a pretty good moment too.

Finished Gekiranger. Simply amazing series. Great characters, I loved every second of it. It is probably one of my favorite Toku series. It's actually the first Sentai show I've seen in it's entirety. I totally didn't expect Mele and Rio to die, especially sacrificing themselves to save the Gekirangers... Excuse me... I need to cry a little... And that ending with Jan meeting that kid who resembled Rio...

Also, planning on watching either Magiranger or Shinkenger next, which do you guys recommend?

Gekiranger really is a shining example for Sentai. It's the only Sentai I've finished that I can say I loved, even in retrospect.

I'd go Magi, btw. Shinkenger gets really boring really quick if you don't love Takeru.

I tried Boukenger , despite my hatred for Operation overdrive. Within minutes I had totally disassociated it from its ranger counterpart. It seems like its worth continuing.

IMO Operation Overdrive while pretty average, is still better than Boukenger which is bad.

I'll be the first to admit I'm not Boukenger's biggest fan, but it's leagues better than Operation Overdrive.

Caught up on Go-busters. The last episode I watched was like # 18 or 19. I skipped a few unecessary "fluff" episodes and just finished episode 30 last night. The show definitely picked up at episode 29 and hopefully they can keep it up so that it finishes on a high note instead of a very mediocre "meh" that it was heading towards previously.

So I have sampled A few sentai shows now. I've realized the opening scene can really hook me in. Gokaiger obviously is the greatest example. Shinkenger had a fantastic 1st scene. Dekaranger stands out as the most random ( in a good way ). Any shows out there with an action packed opening?

Just finished episode 17 of Liveman, and oh lordy is this show crazy.

So Volt creates a monster out of a doll which is also a clown which makes other dolls go on a murder spree. Then the clown monster tears off its clown-face and also there are exploding shoes, because of reasons.

I like Liveman because it's very serious and dramatic, but I also like when it goes completely insane like this.

Starting now on Hurricaneger and about to finish Go-onger. Just the Final Lap to go.

Gekiranger, because of Matrix. And the first episode is SO much different then Jungle Fury. Not better. Because I did love Jungle Fury. Just as good as, but different. Looking forward to watching the rest.

Watching episode 19 of Liveman.

In which the monster of the week shoots bibles at people and forces them to read. Then he rides a roller coaster and decides he wants to have fun and goes to play in the mud.

I know people say that Liveman is the darkest sentai show there's been but man, I love just how . . .unhinged the plotting gets in this show.

Thanks to Matrixbeast i watched the first 2 episodes of Geki. And now i want a Jan SHF to hang out with my Amazon.

Finished Go-onger. I really like helmet-less role calls. On Act 2 of Shinkenger now. I like the look of the series. Also watching Hurricaneger, I'm on scroll 4 now. I like their suits compared to how simple the Kakuranger suits looked like.

Hi, watching Gokaiger, trying to catch the whole series before SHT is subbed. Up to the mid 30's & something has been buggin' me about the show at this stage, & that's the fight scenes. Now for the most part they're okay but it gets really repetitive at the end, because it's like "Do a previous Sentai's rush attack, then use Gokai Silvers Gold Mode, then use the Gokai Galleon Buster, & then the monster dies". Why can't you just use one finisher? It just makes the battle feel awkward if you have the monster just standing there waving his arms around & getting hit by 3 finishing moves before deciding to die. And the Giant fights are almost as bad because it's like, "OK, summon Furaimaru & combine, do a finishing attack, then have Gojyujin do a finishing attack, then the monster dies" I just become bored.

Getting their money out of the Gold Mode suit. That thing barely shows up outisde of the stock footage.

Two words Destroy: Toy Sales.

There's a good lot of Geki watching going on in here :D hopefully this means Matrix and I will have more people join our long-running campaign to see the Rio figuart released :p

Liveman is fantastic. It manages to be both dark and utterly ridiculous at times..that monster being one of the best examples :lol

That's my problem. All style, no substance.
They can't kill the monster off with DaiRanger's finisher because there's no Dairanger toys out, so they have to change back and use one of their's (Galleon Buster or the normal Final Wave), and Gold Mode...That mode is so dumb.

Soon our dream shall be realized :lol
(Also, I've gotten 3 people to watch Kabuto and 2 to watch Geki)

It got so bad I swore at one point Marvelous would turn towards the camera and say "Buy one today Kids!"

I always felt it was a missed trick that the Gokai Galleon Buster couldn't gokai change depending which keys were inserted into. I'd have loved to see it become the Biomotion Buster or the Ohre Bazooka (although the latter did appear I guess). That's a bit too much wishful thinking though.

Actually, I did watch the first episode of Gekiranger a little while back. It was okay, I just haven't continued with it yet since I'm already in it to win it with 3 series.
I guess I'll watch it when I finish Dairanger, kinda like what happened with Den-O.

I watched 2 episodes of Ryukendo, thanks to you ShockerCon. It's pretty good. i was amazed at how well the cgi was for a toku show made in 06

Yeah , i like it. Jan may be the most enthusiastic Red i have seen thus far.

The show really starts to pick up once RyuJinO shows up. One thing I like about RyuKenDo is, sans the henshin(s), it's pretty spare on stock footage. Which is a plus compared to it's successor of sorts, Rescue Force(though there is a bit of give and take in that while Rescue Force uses a lot more CGI stock footage, the CGI is a lot more impressive than RyuKenDo's).

TV Nihon subbed and released the kamen rider super sentai Taihen (not Taisen, the net movies) They're pretty cool and now I think I want to go back and watch shinkenger and gokaiger again.

Started watching Boukenger, because Den-O won't shut up about it (:lol), and it's actually really good. And so much different than OO. For example... Boukenger is good, and watchable, and well-written. The sea serpent eating him at the end of the episode kinda confused me though o-o

Argh! I am so unbelievably pissed right now! I've been meaning to watch the Goseiger VS Shinkenger movie for some time now. Today I tried downloading it off KRDL because no one's seeding it over at TV-Nihon. It took almost 3 hours & it was almost finished, I go away from my computer for like, 15 minutes, come back & I get a message saying "This download was taking too long, so it was shut down by the network". Arrrrrrrgh!!! :mad::mad::mad:
