My strongest Pokemon was about ten levels behind, mainly because I breezed through the ice gym, my weaker pokemon were even higher than ten levels behind.

I used to play at many levels higher than gym leaders but now I realize it's more fun to just fight them at whatever levels I can get.

However, I really hate fighting Elite Four members because they don't give you a chance to recover before fighting the champion. It's not that it's difficult, it just feels rather unfair. So much for being a champion when he/she isn't willing to battle you at full strength.

Ironically i finished him off with Samurott.

Huh. That's odd. I never grinded, so I'm unsure how I ended up stronger.
I guess I just explored more? *Shrugs*

All my friends used to do that, taking teams of Pokemon hitting the level 80 mark against the E4, when their Pokemon are at 45-55, for the first round.

I, on the other hand, just went against them as is. Increased the challenge, increased the tension, and it was more fun and satisfying.

Probably, I don't get as much of a thrill from bumping into Pokemon like I did as a kid, especially as in most caves and grass the same three pokemon pop up in a loop, so I try and take the quickest destination I can to anywhere.

But... Part of the fun in Pokemon is the exploration.

It isn't when you've been stopped the third time that minute by a fucking Zubat.

Technically, if it was White 1, it was Woobat.
Because one of B/W's touted features was "No returning Pokemon."

Zubat was the first shit Pokemon to come to mind :lol

I tried training a Woobat. Bad idea.

So I made it passed that tournament and now I'm battling my way through that electric cave and it's a massive pain in the arse. On the plus side between those two things I got surf, which lead me to capturing an Axew, Ratticate and Aron.

I didn't like Woobat or Swoobat at all, so I didn't bother.

I thought, "Hey a Psychic Crobat isn't so bad". Swoobat is nowhere as cool as Crobat.

My Psychic flier of choice in B/W1 was Siglyph, because the moment a random trainer used one against me I instantly knew I wanted one :lol

I used Sigilyph in White 1, it was pretty cool. I thought of trying a different Flying type in White 2.

I couldn't not use it.
I don't remember my flier for Black 2, and I couldn't use a Flying type at all in White 2 (I had to use a team of all Fighting that game).

My team is an unbalanced mess because I just go with who I think looks cool.

My Gen 5 teams are the only times i didn't actually use Flying types. They all sucked to me.

I honestly used Sigilyph based on design alone. :lol
The fact that it learned Tailwind, and that move pretty much won me my battle against Ghetsis was the cherry on top :p

Finally made it to the next bliddy town, this is the flying gym though so I'm not too worried. Some dude trades you a really awesome rock type Pokémon in the corner so I'm gonna grab that and then go kick her arse.

I FINALLY won a copy of SoulSilver on eBay.

I don't know why but this game is so rare and ridiculously expensive in shops, I don't even want the Poké walker shit. However it appears to be just as rare on eBay and when eBay decides something is rare the money starts to get ridiculous. Luckily I had almost ten quid in my PayPal account so with that deducted away from the final cost I got a used copy without the walker for a tenner.

So I still basically got ripped the fuck off, but after refusing to pay more than a tenner (closer to fifteen quid without postage) and lost about six auctions in about three days, I knew I basically had to get ripped off to own a copy and sighed and sold my soul.

Wait Soul Silver is rare? It's literary the only Gen 4 game i see in stores anymore.

Well the Pokewalker is a fun distraction. And the only way to get some Pokemon.

Oh well I got a copy without the Walker, with it they were going for like twice the price on eBay, I wouldn't pay near forty quid for a brand new console game, let alone a used handheld game that is years old.

The Pokewalker nets you a lot of Pokemon earlier that you'd have to complete the game or outright trade for to get access to normally (Granted, each area is also filled with crappy, common mons too).

It's not worth much, honestly, but it was fun and if this was 3 years ago, you probably could have gotten a Flying or Surfing Pikachu from it.

I dunno what the proper names for them are, but I can plug them in and have the rarest pokemon from the start. Although that ruins the fun.

Haha nah, a gameshark the poke walker ain't. It's a decent little gimmick but nothing essential or amazing just meant you could get a dratini and special pikachu's etc. really early.
