S.I.C Kamen Rider Birth? Awesome!

I thought the same thing when I saw him too. Birth was cool but Kougami's obsession with desire and making the armor coin operated did end up hurting the Births during the endgame.

However Birth is a nice design and it's cool that 2nd Riders could be getting the SIC treatment too from now on.

I'm currently watching OOO for the first time so it's cool that they announce a S.I.C-figure of Birth now. I will try to hunt down TaToBa so I can display these two together.

That's an interesting note as well. Since they do Wizard at the moment too, I'm curious how a S.I.C Mister Mayonnaise aka Kamen Rider Beast would look like.

If Birth gets a release date before LaToraTah, I swear, I'm going to fly over to Tamashii Nations and drop a boulder on their HQ. Also being SIC, Birth better come with the CLAWS parts.

As for Birth it is just a demo. They don't even know if it will be released or not yet.

It looks much more techy when compared to normal BIRTH but other then that not seeing a whole lot of difference.

I picked this up from Mandarake at the same time as Baron Lemon Energy & the Magma Effect; all were listed as "sealed" but those other two came with mailer boxes while Tamashii did not. I don't know if just wasn't included or it didn't actually come with one, but I wish it did because the box feels a little flimsy.

As for the figure himself, as you can guess, shoulder/arm posability is much more limited due to the shoulders. I do wish they'd tried a hinge joint for the "logo" shoulder pieces, to try and free up some more posability, but I can't complain too much.

I didn't notice this too much in Shishioh's pics, but his neck is LONG. I don't know how well it shows in the pics, but it's a giraffe neck. You can move the head forward and have it look down so it covers up a bit of the neck and looks more normal, but it's still longer than I expected and looks weird out of the box.

(One side of the box looks double-taped and there are some smudges & paint miscues here & there, so I wonder if this is one someone opened & resealed. Nothing annoying that would make me consider repurchasing it, just little things here and there. The most notable issues are a gray smudge on the right logo shoulder and the first coin in his belt has some gold overspray.)

His only weapon is the sword; sometimes I think they might make the weapons in die-cast to observe the whole "chogokin" part of the line, but it's plastic still (the only die-cast, as far as I can tell, is in the kneecaps).

Maybe it's because I don't have Hulk-sized hands, but due to the outsized shoulders, it felt awkward trying to find the right grip on the body to plug the legs in. They're the same legs as Tajadol's, so no mold changes (I still wish there was a second toe joint at their base, to allow for the foot to lie flat on the ground, but oh well). The feathers at the base of the leg, and each clawed toe, are clear plastic.

Another really nice OOO release, though you might find it a little lacking compared to figures like Tajadol/Putotyra/Shauta/Sagozo, which are jam-packed with stuff. That, combined with this being an event exclusive and its corresponding price, may not make it worth picking up for some and I understand that. I don't know if I'd call it a "must-have" (Baron Lemon & the Magma effect fall closer to that category for me), but it's still pretty damn cool and I'm pleased with my purchase.

He's a bit looser than the other OOOs or recent SICs, which helps with his gator-leg mode. Shoulder posability's still decent, despite the large shoulder pads. He can't really look up, but the neck & head joints mean he can look down pretty well. The top of his turbin can move in its peg when you grab it to move the head, so it's best to grab him by the sides of the head instead.

His shield pieces peg into his wrist cuffs. The larger clear piece has a middle peg, which you can use to peg into one arm rather than dual-wielding.

It's not hard to get his arms in the right position to peg the single-piece shield in, or to get his arms close enough for the split-piece shield.

At least the inside pf the turbin (maybe the whole thing?) is actually clear plastic. Unpegs from the back of the head easily enough, and the snake is flexible rather than stiff, so no fragility fears.

His gripping hands (used for the flute & the sword) are super-tight and its not the biggest hole between the thumb and rest of the hand, so with the flute made from stiffer plastic, I felt a bit cautious trying to get that thing rammed into his hand for this pose.

Gator leg mode is comical. If I had more room, I'd display him this way because this is ridiculous, in a good way. The somewhat looser torso & hips will help give you some decent poses when in this mode, but I'm not sure how I'll feel about it if it gets looser over time.

I didn't have as much trouble getting the sword into his gripping hand (less stiff plastic on the sword handle). The removable piece on the sword for containing the extra medals pegs in nicely, so I can leave the coins in without worry of it flying off and the coins becoming vacuum bait (one of the medaljaliburs, I think OOO's, had that piece pretty loose on mine, if memory serves).

The OOO SICs are the absolute cat's crev. I only wish they weren't so expensive. Hell, I even want TaToBa, despite the problems I hear about it.

I'm slowly catching up on the S.I.C OOOs, but it will take awhile lol. I can't wait for my Burakwani to arrive. It's designs executed like that which may me love toys. They've just taken it to another level and created something incredible. Great pictures!

SIC Wizard Flame Style arrived today. It's my first SIC and I'm pretty happy with it except for the stand. The joints in the arm aren't strong enough to support the figure in any mid-air poses. Is this normal or do I have a bum stand?

Use a screwdriver to tighten the joints. But don't do it too tight or you could crack it. I've found it's best to do it little by little until you've reached the desired amount of resistance.

Tamashii stands suck when used with SICs. They're just too heavy and big as figures for the stands. And they crack so incredibly easily.

I got my first SIC today with KT Kaixa. I like him. He has some issues (the hips, an apparent tilt to him, one of his shoulderpads seems tighter than the other) but overall I love messing around with him. I wanna get more of these now, especially Side Bassha.

SIC masters are hand-sculpted, so they sometimes have asymmetrical quirks. If you manage to pull off HeatMetal's face you can even see a finger print in the sculpt.

Funny the SIC thread gets bumped, I really want to get Tatoba and Putotyra, but.... I dunno.

What scale are the SICs in? I've never bought one before and I'm interested in checking out the line.

Putotyra's top-notch. My favorite of the three retail release OOOs. Tatoba...isn't bad by any means, but feels really lackluster compared to the releases that have come after him.

I forget the scale in inches (I think 7ish?), but they're smaller than Play Arts Kais if that helps.

Well SIC KTS are 3 3/4" or GI Joe sized. SIC are like 7" I think going off of pictures

SICs have always been in their weird scale.

Large enough that they look weird with Figuarts but small enough that they don't fit into Play Arts either.

Best I figured was around 7.25"-7.5"-scale. I took a picture with some other lines for the Stronger review a few years back:

I've heard complaints about the arms and legs on Tatoba, but never what those complaints were. What's the deal with them, if I may ask?

Hmm...I don't recall any issues with the arms or legs on mine. It's been awhile since I really handled mine though; I'll try & take it out over the weekend and see if I notice anything.

I know this is SIC, but I'm still surprised that his weapons can combine and pull the tank-mode. Very cool. I also like the more mechanized look that this figure has.
