Whelp, I wasn't expecting to but I ended up jumping back into Decade, this time for the Shinkenger crossover.

OK first off, when exactly was this special filmed? Because I don't know about you guys but the Shinkengers actors didn't feel as 'organic' as they do in the series. And the characters seem like a "prototype" version of themselves. That might because this is the Decade writing staff & not the Shinkenger, or maybe I'm just imagining it, whatever.

Second, this makes me dislike Decade even more, his actor is 'slimey', not quite sure how to put it, but the way he looks & sounds makes me wanna hit him. Also I hate how Natsumi & Knock-Off Kuuga just act as though Tsukasa is a complete angel even when he's being a total dick & picking a fight with everyone.

Also I'm not entirely sure what the 'problem' of these episodes was. Yes, I know there was the Ayakashi with the Diend Driver, but I'm talking about the underlying issue. It started out with "this is a world without Riders", which I find hard to see is an issue but it made Natsumi spaz out for some reason. And then it turned into something like Jii's sense of purpose to the Shinkengers, not sure how that happened. And then Tsukasa was telling Takeru about how important Jii is to them, which I was just expecting Takeru say back "Yeah, thanks for telling me crap I already know Tsukasa".

And they also made the Shinkengers (aside from Takeru anyway) look like total chumps. And Chiaki didn't get to do anything awesome. :(

Anyway, those are my thoughts & I'm now just completely turned off from watching Decade (sorry Coturos). If the rest of the series is this slimey bastard traveling throughout the multiverse with his ass-kissing buddies, picking fights with everyone & having a lame resolution every time. Then count me out.

Natsumi was like that because she's watched each and every world reject Tsukasa and treat him like a threat, and then when they suddenly enter a world without riders people are trying to destroy him simply for being a rider. You have to bare in mind it's like the 12th world they visit in the show, so its been bubbling up for a good portion of it.

I wouldn't have said they were chumps, more that they were practically non-existent bar Takeru and Genta. Ryuunosuke was still Ryuunosuke though :lol

That's pretty much the gist of it yes. I liked Tsukasa up until the end of the series, but he's pretty much written as being flawless all the way through.

Because Decade doesn't get any better. Decade continues to be a royal douche while Natsumi and Yuusuke act as though he's flawless, the writing gets more and more convoluted and confusing as they try to lead up to something (Which never occurs because the movie which was supposed to resolve it got changed), and Decade gets played up as "Greatest Rider ever" despite the obvious gaps in power between him and others.

And Kaito is cool. He gets his own movie during the Chou Den-O Trilogy, Episode Yellow, which is completely void of Tsukasa (And it's glorious).

It also has one of my favorite jokes in all of Den-O.

That was a great joke :lol Unfortunately that movie isn't exactly my favorite Den-O film. Yeah I love Diend and yeah he's awesome etc but something felt lacking in that movie.

That's good. Because it's dirt cheap :lol That thing didn't sell at all. The poor sales of W's other bike attachments is, I think, a big reason why we never got the Figuarts Revolgary.

Do you have a good link to one? i have the Hardboilder already. But the attachment itself is not reasonable at all on ebay or at image anime.

Go to Mandarake. Search using the keyword Figuarts. Normally they're searches work better in kanji but nearly all of their Figuarts listings have the word in english. I can't find you a specific link to one at the moment but I do see them on there regularly for about 1500-2000 yen.

I recommend researching first though. Things like orders under 5000 yen get a 500 yen fee and people paying with Paypal can not use SAL. So yeah, buying from them can get pricy quickly if you aren't careful. Anyways, take anymore toy talk to the toy forums, please.





Back to Kuuga for a moment. I finally found the video I was missing (it wasn't labeled right) and it's just the Hyber Battle Video and does nothing to make those last 3 episodes any less jarring and anti-climactic. I'm having a hard time getting pass this because I really, really, enjoyed it up to that point, maybe even more than W.

So, getting off that, I'm now trying something a little different. Since most of my shows are on hiatus, canceled, over, or in HFIL, I'm attempting to watch 3 tokus at once. Everyday, it's one episode of 2 Sentais and two episodes of Agito (because let's face it Kamen Rider really wants to be an hour long show).

I only just started Agito and watched episode 7-8 last night. I like it so far. Seems to have more physical comedy than Kuuga, but the violent deaths continue. Plus, 3 Riders off the bat. I'm keeping score of the kills between the Riders (except I've probably missed a few Agito took out). Poor G3, he's not made to fight these monsters.

I don't know exactly what you're talking about there. I just paid for an order through paypal last week that was SAL. I've never had any problems doing that before either.

And Agito really is fantastic. You're right on the comedy and the violent deaths are very violent. Getting stuffed into trees is downright terrifying. I too always loved that we get 3 riders from the get go. And that opening G3 really does get the short end of the stick on kill coutns but he was designed to fight a different type of lifeform so unfortunately he really isn't equipped for this battle. But as time passes he does become much more useful.

Yeah I REALLY hated this part of Kuuga. Everyone propped it up so much, that the ending was a real let-down.

Easiest way is to get the katakana and kanji for Kamen Rider and then Figuarts in english and it will bring up everything.

I'm on episode 43 or so of Ryuki so I'm near the end. I've loved every bit of this series so far. Like I mentioned before, Episode 29 and 30 were really weird (i.e. comedy heavy) but the overall series has definitely become one my favorites. I don't know if I'd rank it above W yet but it's pretty close. I love the dark story line and the fact that each rider has a unique personality and fighting style. You can't help but love Shinji even if he is a bit of a naive clutz. I've heard people say the ending isn't very good (which I've heard about quite a few Hesei era series, actually) so I'm not super pumped for the conclusion but I hope I will be pleasantly surprised. After that I may move on sequentially and watch Faiz but I've heard a lot of mixed things about that series.

If you're liking Ryuki's darker and more mature tone I'd actually recommend going back instead of forwards and checking out Kuuga and Agito. Faiz is... it's a show that's hard to recommend. A lot of it is that it tries to be even darker than Ryuki, but does so in a way that makes it more of an over-the-top melodrama in a lot of places. The writing also falls into certain patterns that get repeated over and over again to the point where it gets really annoying.

I took your suggestion and started Agito. However, it seems to be a pseudo sequel to Kuuga so I decided to resume watching Kuuga (on Episode 5). I'm also watching Faiz (on Episode 7) and tried to watch Blade but the TV Nihon subs for episodes 5 and on are really distorted/squished and I just can't watch it like that. I like what I've seen so far though and wish I could continue watching Blade. Anyone know of another sub group who's completed Blade?

I don't think anyone's tackled Blade yet, which is weird considering it has really poor video quality and the translation is usually regarded as one of TVN's weakest.

Also, yay Kuuga!

What's wrong with Blade in terms of techical issues? It's on my to watch list.


For those that have seen more Agito than me, is "Special: A New Transformation" important? After the trouble I had finding Project G4, I like to know if it's worth the trouble to find it too or if it's just a one off special (like God, Speed, Love or Kuuga's New Year special).

The aspect ratio on some of the episodes is really messed up; they're much wider than they are tall, even beyond normal "widescreen" dimensions. They're also pretty lo def, maybe 480p at the most. In fairness, it's not like high definition episodes were available back then and the encodes at least look less fuzzy than the Hibiki or original Faiz ones.

Well Blade has only had tv rips thus far, no DVD rips (same goes for Hibiki and Kabuto), so the video quality is utter ****. Not to mention it looks incosistent since some episodes seemed to be recorded on a poorer reception than others. Secondly, because they were tv rips, they were encoded back in 2004, and as such, do not work on modern devices, so watching them on anything but a computer is impossible.

It's kind of important. On the one hand, it shows how Shouichi learned to master Burning Form and achieve Shining, but at the same time it doesn't fit perfectly in step with the show (most notably Hojou learns Shouichi is Agito in the special but not until awhile later on the show). It's not bad, though, and the main guest star would later go on to play Kaoru's therapist on Garo. Anything with a Garo connection is automatically awesome.

I'm up though episode 28 of Agito.G3-X is just as awesome as I thought it'd be. I needz toy of that. Btw, the V1 looks cool to. Reminds me Kamen Rider Torque's helmet actually. I'm still enjoying the show very much. Last episode I watched was a Ryou focus episode and a single stand alone episode, not a 2-parter. I wish more Kamen Rider episodes were like this. I get tired of the 2-parter thing.

Sadly, gomenrider's scrubs end on episode 25 and the rest of the episodes' quality aren't nearly as good. Still watchable, but I'm just glad I was able to watch the first half in better quality.





Anyways, tonight was a movie night and due to the tournament I decided it was time to finally watch Kabuto: God, Speed, Love. I enjoyed it. In fact, it has a better ending than Kabuto (which ain't hard, honestly). Oh the Rider movies I've seen, I'd probaly rate it 3rd best. Much better than all the crossover movies I've seen (again, that's not hard to do) and not quite good enough to top A to Z or Accel (Not sure which is #1 and #2). If there's any problem with it, it'd be that Caucasus has no reason to be here other than being a plot device and something to hit.

As I typed that, I realized why I enjoyed this so much. It's the "Same as it Never Was." For those unfamiliar, SAINW is an episode of the 2003 Ninja Turtles where Donatello is sent to the future where the Shredder has won. A "what if" story and one of my favorites. Basically, This Kabuto movie is the SAINW for Kamen Rider.

I've got 15 episodes of Kabuto left. The self-righteousness and communication problems are almost palpable. Except for Kagami, of course, but you know.
And then the girlfriend drew me this in commemoration of how quality Tsurugi is.

I just watched the W / Decade movie war. Maybe i am just slow , but i have no idea what happened in the Decade part. But the W origin story was nice to get after watching the first 10 episodes.

It seems like W always wins in crossover movies and the other rider he's with is impossible to comprehend. Decade, OOO, looking at you 2. :lol

Man, if that's why you liked God Speed Love you will love Paradise Lost, the Kamen Rider 555 movie. It's a movie where the Orphenochs rule the world, humanity is forced to live in small reservations, and the heroes (and Kaixa) are outnumbered and outgunned resistance fighters. It's Faiz-y as all hell, but it's still pretty cool.

The decade part really doesn't make any sense, even if you have seen the show.

Even the most diehard OOO fan will tell you that his segment from the W/OOO crossover movie was shit.

I love OOO's an incredible amount but dear god it wasn't good. The villain and ballet scenes were so horrible.
