Damn, I'm more interested than I was before. Mecha still bothers me though.

I still don't think I'll be going for the DX mecha. Probably just the mini pla. Does any one know if the dx gorilla will be sold separately? It's so stupid looking I want one.

I absolutely love this series. I love the various mecha variations of variety, I love the absolute blockiness of everything, I love the morpher. Absolutely. The sword/gun looks a little childish but I'm good with it because I love that sticker on the side with all the animals. There's nothing visually about this series I don't like.

I just need more details about story, Bandai/Toei. Also, a female general I could crush on. That'd be shibby.

Oh and that symbol! I love the Liveman feel, I love it. And also I love it's not Ninninger :D

For everything that these things do, I'm ok with that compromise. This isn't like Shinkenger in the way that it combines so they kind of had to go this route. The only other thing they could've done was make the lower body cubes able to separate, but someone would complain about the partsforming. Probably me. Lol

The combos, the actual transformation of the individual part, the playability...I'll deal with Uni-leg this year. We may get minipla that have that articulation as well, but we'll see.

Honestly, I still feel the logo is the best part.
Everyone is on here shouting how everything we've seen in the series is a throwback, but the only part of the series I've seen that actually feels like a shout out to classic Sentai is the old school style logo.

How many other sentai mecha have had 3 stage transformations and modular capabilities like this? Not many. Also "every sentai in history" is hyperbole at its finest. I remember most recently Toqger getting major heat, and it wasn't for looking better than JyuohKing.

To me at least, it doesn't matter if it's new or not. If it looks like shit, then it looks like shit. That's what this series looks like to me. Hell ToQger looked better than this. These are just so bad, there is virtually no thought in these, it's like the most barebones it could get. I honestly don't know how anyone like seeing these.

That's a big assumption to make there. If you don't like it that's fine, but let's not go crazy. Also many do like this, myself included.

What do you mean by 3 stage transformations? (just wondering, it's kind of vague)

Personally, I don't have particularly strong opinions on JuuOh King, because frankly, I can count the number of sentai mecha I like on one hand, so this is just one more I don't care for. But I will admit even then I find the transformations here pretty underwhelming. The individual animals are ok, I guess, but it looks like the 'transformation" for the mecha is literally just turning the cubes around so the numbers are on the back. The eagle and gorilla fold out their arms, but that is really it. Sounds like a real boring toy, imo.

I'm not exactly sure why, but the designs for this series are really starting to grow on me. Might help that I'm a big fan of Minecraft, so I can sort of imagine building these in there. I also think like these would be fun to play with. I don't think I'll go out and get any of the toys, but I'll definitely be interested once BoA gets to a PR version.

Man, what the heck. I was looking at the new pictures more closely and not only does the shark have yellow bits stuck on it, which I thought was bad enough, the eagle also has blue bits stuck on it.

By 3 stage I meant cube, animal, and robot. I understand why you feel underwhelmed by the robot, but I'm looking at the way each cube transforms into animals more so than the combined form. Like Shinkenger before it I'm really impressed by how they transform from cubes to animals. That looks like a blast.

gimmicks based mechas are never good. even in shinkenger it looks tacky, and shinkenger is the best of the bunch. Jyuuouger kinda takes the cake as the worst of all.

Looking at those new scans and this stuff is actually starting to grow on me. I mean, the changers and sword are a bit odd IMO but the rest actually looks like some fun toys. Here's hoping the actual show is able to do the came thing.

As it stands the only two Zords I hate are the lion and shark, the rest look good in combined mode but blue and yellow's cubes make horrible legs in my own opinion while white green and the two reds are starting to grow on me

Two Megazord modes, plus five jets, plus a combined jet mode, and it didn't look like literal squares.

Also, when one "stage" is just the zords as cubes, that's hardly saying anything. Ditch the stage an have a non-shit Megazord. Less is more.

Agree to disagree. I find the blue mode to be rather hideous. I like this much more than that to be honest. So to your point less is more rings true about that thing. Can't please everybody.

I haven't searched through the entire thread...so I don't know if anyone has made this..erm..."connection" but this is the first thing I thought of when I saw the new transformation device.

I probably found the object stage more appealing in Shinkenger, since I didn't understand kanji (or at least not those characters at that point.) Here, they read to my American sensibilities as baby blocks. I'm with Split Lip in not valuing the numbered-block mode much.

I'm kind of the reverse of Golden King: I actually find the lion and shark to be my favorite of the animal modes due to how they approached the 8-bit-animal aesthetic.

Despite my mecha misgivings, I'm greatly looking forward to the opening sequence, and in general, to seeing how they riff on the pixel-art aesthetic throughout the series. (I suspect the pixels on the henshin phone are a good indication.)

Well these new pictures have me interested. Now its a much better understanding of how it works. So basically the blocks are either lower legs, upper legs/waist and upper body, armament.

The modularization of it would seem to imply we can swap it all out. However then the question is, would they be able to all combine or are we going to have a few combinations and then a ton of blocks leftover on the side.

I generally like all the aux mecha to be able to combine. The best example i can think of is Boukenger where there was no single mecha left behind.

The Cube Animals look great. Combined though? Hmm I dunno. I like Wild a lot more thanKing though.

Yeah, Minecraft duplo is growing on me. Jyuohwild does look decent.

Changing from Eagle to Gorilla is apparently a process dubbed "Visor Up"

JyuohGorilla looks amazing. I like the black and red on him and the muscle gain. It would be interesting if the others can do a Visor Up transformation.

I really hope the others can Visor Up too. I mean it feels like it would allow to make more toys if they could. Hopefully us seeing Jyuuoh Gorilla first just means Red's getting the power up first and the others will get it as the acquire more of the mecha. (One can hope.)

Would be pretty cool if they subverted the 6th/extra ranger trope by having the main 5 do this.

Maybe in some ways Toei is experimenting with the 6th ranger concept anyway - look how early StarNinger showed up.
