The entire ending to this episode was awesome, with the guy's eyes widening after hearing the report to cloaked Jin just having a nice stroll in the rain. Also even though the awesome Rose Amazon died, at least he got some head from his girlfriend. But yeah Mamoru is so dying this season.

I'm sure that Chihiro's interest in Iyu and her memories is meant to be really sweet and endearing, but it is coming off as really, really creepy. I find myself agreeing with literally every other character when they tell him to give up and stop trying to woo the zombie.

Yeah I'm getting more and more annoyed at him. I had a sliver of hope during their "date" - and resurgences of it when she interacts with Haruka - but it's just so clear she'll never really be a person. At least not who she was. And Chihiro continuing to dote on her really is becoming a creepy level of obsessed.
Not much to say about the latest episode (but man was that blood fountain when Rose Amazon cut off the guy's head ridiculous), but really excited for the next one just for Jin. |

Preview for the next episode seems to suggest she's starting to... Quote:

I feel like the feeling they're going for between Chihiro and Iyu is "tragic" which can envelope both the bittersweet and the creepy - the kind of thing director Takashi Miike pulls off effortlessly. I'm seeing it in this light. This won't end well.

Wait, Takeshii Mike s doing this? As in "Pheonic Wright and JoJo movies" Takeshii Mike? Sweet
|
Episode 7 dropped, and yeah Jin is Chihiro's father. Also next week should be good as it's a "flashback that fills in the plot points of a time skip" episode. This episode was mostly just Iyu cruising down memory lane.
|
What I really like is the instead of season 2's "NEXT TARGET", the preview for episode 8 used season 1's "NEXT HUNT" as it is mostly flashback of what happen during the 5 years time skip and focus mainly on season 1 casts
Also, it seems that they are starting to recycle suits, we have Mantis and Rhino this ep, which was 2 of the bridesmaid in ep 1-2. I am not complaining though. Jin is so awesome. Blinded as he is, he can still easily kick 2 Amazonz asses with barely any damage. Funny how his and Haruka's fighting style swapped with each other. He fights wilder, while Haruka is calmer. |

Wow, I guess Kamen Rider has had a lot of daddy issues lately. Shinnosuke's dead one, Gou's evil one, Takeru's dead one, Makoto's absent one, Alain's dead one and it's looking like it might be the case for Dan in Ex-Aid too. Now this.

Anyway, he'd be a great Amazonz guest director at the least. |

I mostly know him for 13 Assassins.

I hear they've got the English version of Armour Zone in the newest episode

That just happened. I kind five expected it to happen with Jin and Chihiro but it was still a surprise. I got chills when he called him father. I can't wait for the next episode there has never been a twist in tokusatsu as interesting as this one for me.
|
Chihiro calling Jin father then Jin just smiles with his creepy blind grin with the music playing was just awesome. I just loved Jin tearing them apart.

There's a lot happening this episode but what impressed me the most was how beautiful the colors looked when they lifted the ever-present filter during the ending scene. Makes me wonder how the show would look if they never had a filter to being with.

Thoughts on the latest episode of Chihiro and the Real Girl:
Pretty slow for the first two-thirds, honestly. I'm still really not that convinced that Iyu is capable of salvaging at this point, although it is interesting to see her be slightly less of a zombie than normal. Not sure that's actual progress, though. The ending, though, with Jin blindly wandering into the scene, fucking up some monsters, and then addressing Chihiro - that shit was gold. It does suck that we're probably going to find out next week that Nanaha is officially dead/probably cut up into bits for lysogenic cells. She was a great character in season 1 and deserved a better fate. It's also a pity that her and Jin's son turned out to be such a weenie. |

That would honestly explain a lot, especially why he acts the way he does. And I think we will get a big fight for Chihiro where he goes completely nuts - him stopping Haruka in episode 6 with his eyes glowing blue was kinda scary. |
I finally grabbed the second series and started watching it. It's weird, most of the first series characters clicked almost immediately but the new ones so far are mostly meh.

Both English versions are nice. At least, imo.

Anyway, all caught up on season 2 finally! It's been interesting. I actually think using the old cast to keep the show worth watching until the new cast got sorta interesting was pretty smart. Chihiro in particular I feel is getting a worse rap than he deserves, though we'll see if he starts to improve after we learn his backstory next episode like I think he will. As far as his relationship with Iyu being creepy goes, I think that's what they're going for. I mean, I do think she's going to start becoming more of a person, but like...he's essentially a teen who thinks he's in love with a girl who literally has no personality. That's such an adolescent and narcissistic view of love, and I hope they really use that. I mean, yeah, she's the only person he doesn't want to eat, but maybe that's just because she's dead? Amazons only seem to like to eat live humans. Plus if the theories are true that he ate Nanaha, they could add a heaping helping of mommy issues to it. Maybe that's not the route they're going, but if the theme of this season really is "love" like they talked about in promotional stuff, I'd love to see them examine the subject that way. Side note, the girl's liquefied brain sliding out of her ear onto the floor in the doctor episode is probably the closest Amazons has come to making me sick. Even Iyu's dad eating her eye didn't bother me as much as that. Also: Quote:

Just watched the raw for episode 8. The best and probably most beautiful thing about this episode is how much Jin love Nanaha, and even going as far as wandering around for 5 years searching for her killer
Speaking of Nanaha, apparently she was eaten by Chihiro, and due to having Lysogenic Cell in her body, turned into an Amazonz when he was eating her. Her "Amazonz" body parts were the origin of the Lysogenic cell. Btw next episode seems to be very bloody and tragic, with Kanou and Shido somehow badly injured (presumably Chihiro) and a big massacre at 4C (again, presumably Chihiro's doing). Jin was blinded by Haruka, Iyu's dad was turned into Amazons by Jin, accidentally, Haruka knew Iyu thanks to Nanaha and Chihiro to an extent. Also, no English version of Armour Zone or Die Set Down during the whole episode. both original versions appeared though, Armour Zone at the start and Die Set Down at the end. |
This one definitely felt like a S1 episode, even has Haruka roar when transforming like he use to do. Weird how Haruka calls Jin "Jin-san" when by that point, they were basically enemies.

The beginning of this season was really slow, but the episodes are so good now. We definitely needed this flashback episode and it was done very well. Finally next week we get New Omega.
|
After watching the newest episode, I kind of find it ironic that Jin is inadvertently the cause of both Amazon outbreaks.
