Micchy is the best character in Gaim, Gaim and Build's endings are great, and Blade is ok at best.

Kamen Rider Fourze is far and away the best Rider show of the second decade of the Heisei era. It's tonally consistent (unlike W, OOO and Drive), the characters are extremely well defined (unlike Wizard), Sakamoto directed the absolute holy fuck out of it, there are no unnecessary tie-ins (unlike Gaim) and it doesn't run out of steam (unlike Ex-Aid, Build and Ghost). The suits look great, the acting is almost universally on point, the message is refreshingly positive and melodrama free, and the final episodes are packed with more emotion than any other Rider show of this era because you can tell this cast grew to absolutely love each other.

I actually don't like Shining Hopper design. It looks incomplete to me and the use of black and yellow feels like there too much black and too little yellow. Plus I think the helmet is ugly. It dosen't help that it was almost immediatly replaced with ( the much better designed) Shining Assualt Hopper so soon.

SHFs outside of Seihou are mostly just okay and frequently are disappointing in some fashion

See I'm actually of the opposite mindset. Shining was the last form in Zero One I liked.

I absolutely hated the show at first, but it has definitely turned around and become really good.

Shunpei is the best character in Wizard and Kosuke is trash.

I'd be suspicious, but Drive managed to turn my opinion on it around once I properly sat down and watched it, so I guess it's only fair to give Saber another shot.

Oh, and for my controversial opinion: Blade is still better than most every series.

The modern Ichigo suit with the white stripe is just okay.

Drive is better than W.

Better protagonists, better villains, better gimmicks, better plot. The suits are equally good in my opinion, but everything else? Drive blows W out of the water.

Saber has definitely pulled a Drive. It's possible it could still shit the bed before the end, but it's become consistent enough that I don't see that happening.

I didn't like Zero One and I felt it was subpar. It was like reverse Saber, where it started off good and promising, but then it declined in quality. Thing is, I thought it was subpar BEFORE the pandemic screwed production over.

When they interviewed the main producer on the show, he said the show was aimed mostly towards kids compared to a more general audience his earlier seasons were, And I thought "oh so that's why".

I definitely recommend catching up on it. Granted, I'm about 8 episodes behind, but that's the result of college, nothing to do with the quality of the show. It gets so much better after the first quarter, starting with episode 16. I'll admit though, the first 15 were probobly the worst thing I've watched out of Toku so far. The plot is absolutely imposable to follow, and the amount of new toys getting shoved in your face is kind of depressing. It makes an incredible turnaround, but it's hard to recommend someone watch five and a half hours of shit just to get to the good part. Maybe watch in on 2X speed if you're good at reading subtitles fast

Onari isn't that bad, honestly I'd take 1,000 Onari's over the investigation team in Drive any day of the week.

Depends on who you're asking. I would agree that they're probably the most well written duo in quite some time, and their relationship comes off as borderline romantic. Though you'd probably also get angry people who don't like gay people saying "CAN'T MEN JUST BE FRIENDS" and yeah that's true, but the way Banjou and Sento act never feels like two bros hanging out. Especially when they're screaming that they are the "best match." There is a reason why they had to give Banjou a "case of the not gays" in his V-Cinema.

They gave him a love interest who is so bare bones, a character so worthless and pointless to the story that removing her literally does NOTHING. The only thing in the movie she does of note is giving Banjou the Cross-ZEvol Bottle, but you could easily just make that Sento and it'd be make more sense than her. She exists SOLELY to give Banjou a female love interest. I feel like Toei knows there are certain Riders who are fan shipped with other characters of the same gender so they forcibly include female LIs. Or, as we know, make sure they have a case of the not gays. Remember, she isn't even MENTIONED in the Grease movie, that's how worthless she was and what her role is.

This is seen in both W and Drive as well. The Fuuto Detectives manga introduces pointless female character solely for Shotaro to have a love interest who is a WOMAN. In Drive media, there's Gou and Chase. Despite Gou literally dedicating his life to solving how to bring Chase back to life, they bring in a pointless female LI for him in his V-Cinema whom he suddenly falls in love with because both of their fathers are awful? Even though that was never part of Gou's character. The only characters to escape this, that often get shipped, are Eiji and Ankh.

It's at least top three.

Haven't seen Build yet, but you CANNOT convince me that Yuji and Takumi from Faiz and Shotaro and Philip from W aren't in love.

While Sento and Ryuga are absolutely in love, to the point that ghe show joked about it a few times, I never saw Shotaro/Phillip as a romantic thing. While I haven't even started OOO yet, I've seen enough clips to be pretty convinced of Eiji/Ankh as a romantic thing, which makes me very excited to someday watch it

I mean, the show puts a lot of the emotional stakes on Is, regardless if she's a bot. Same with all other Humagears in the show. And the show basically made clear that humans or Humagear, they're worthy persons in their own right.

Here's my controversial take.

I know they're "official" (really can you trust official stuff when Toei flipflops on certain terms constantly?) terms but honestly it's easier and more coherent in a conversation to say the names as "Izu" "Zea" instead of the ones they're based on "Is" and "There".

All I know is Izu and Aruto's relationship was very impactful for me in that it made me more open to the idea of Robot and Human Ships. To where I've changed my mind on certain other Ships I've seen from various franchises.
