Hiroki Uchida and Hasegawa seemingly being co-headwriters is very interesting to me...

Uchida wrote 2 saber episodes I liked a lot, but also wrote my least favourite scene in Saber personally.

I haven't seen any of what Uchida wrote for the Revice Spin-offs though because I hard fell off of revice lol

If anything, this is a quote from The Alchemists, a 2000 movie.
To be honest, I'm delighted. The plot description sounds like a mixture (an alchemical mixture!) of Blade and Fourze, and both of these shows are in my top series about riders. The main character is a high school student who is brave and energetic. The latter is very important after Ace, who looks like he is about to yawn. This is also written by Hasegawa, who worked on Gridman and understands the school setting. I really hope that, unlike Zi-O, Gotchard will be left at school for the whole show. Plus, a clear separation of good and evil. Maps create monsters from bad influences (hello Drive!), but a good person has the ability to become a rider. Seriously, for now, it looks like Toei decided to take a break from Geats' ambiguity and give viewers a simple gripping story within the walls of a school. Perhaps we will even get an analogue of the Rider Club, only where almost everyone will be riders.
A little bit of speculation. The rumors of a card game don't fit well with the plot, so I'm guessing four possibilities:
1) This is not true.
2) Game cards existed from the beginning and only after the incident turned out to be associated with monsters.
3) Gotchard will be a rider before the show and during this time the card game will have time to appear.
4) The show will have a card game arc, presumably in its second or third ten episodes.
Decade doesn't seem like the right rider to appear in this story. Honestly, I can easily name five more suitable ones. However, this largely depends on the availability of actors, so there is no need to choose.
Luxury motorcycle. I love his gold and his steampunk vibe. Unfortunately, the school setting is unlikely to provide many opportunities to ride it.
In any case, I'm looking forward to this show. I hope it doesn't disappoint me.

Wait if this series will be themed on alchemy mixed with TCG, will the protagonist be like Yugi Muto, Bashin Dan or Edward Elric?

Not gonna lie, the staff sounds pretty good right now. I really like what Uchida has done in the past, so I am hoping that Gotchard will have good writing.

The most interesting part of this that we have a designated number of cards, and that number is odd rather than even.

So if I am understanding correctly, that probably means that one card is absolutely a transformation item for a singular rider (as in not combined with another card at some point).

This would mean a whopping 50 forms for Gotchard. Although that's purely hypothetical as Revice technically could have had 22 forms (more if we included the possibility of using Showa Stamps) for the stamps, but only 11 were ever designed. Plus it's always possible that another rider could use more than two to transform. It will be really interesting to see how it's handled. I really like when they outright number the items from the beginning (like Ghost with the 15 eyecons).

Also, I really wonder what this means for the rumor that Decade might show up in some capacity. I really doubt the traditional Rider system could be used since the premise outright states that these cards are essentially sealed artificial beings. It doesn't sound like Legend Cards could necessarily be used in the main show (maybe as a side collectible like Rider Progrise Keys).

I never heard of the Alchemists movie btw.

Not surprising. This is a Russian comedy about how an alchemist leaves for a convention, and his apprentice and his servants decide to make money by helping people. They are detained for fraud, but everyone who contacted them is satisfied with the result and therefore they are released. And when the alchemist returns and finds out everything, he declares that his student has done more for alchemy than he did with all his secret research and they decide to continue together.

I think with 101 cards, Gotchard can make 39 look like previous riders. And if rider-like cards are being used by a Decade-like rider played by an actor who looks like Masahiro Inoue, that's the reason for the rumors. On the other hand - get the name of the tertiary, not even knowing who plays the main one? This is either a lie or a planned leak to test the reaction of the fans and become more like Ultraman. More precisely, to introduce the Kamen Riders of the Outsiders into the main shows, because in the special format they move at a snail's pace.

I'm guessing the 2nd Rider is going to be a rival card collector.

You're probably thinking of Saber's head writer, Fukuda Takurou. And in his defense, he only "abandoned" it cause producer Takahashi told him to focus on Trio of Deep Sin. So blame Takahashi instead.

Yeah, that's a fair criticism. I think it took Kan Hideyoshi a few episodes to figure out that Ace should be a little more expressive than simply looking away from others nonchalantly.

I wouldn't doubt there'd be a female rider since we've had one in every rider show since Zero One(I mean Zi-O had one for 2 episodes)but they're never going to make one the secondary rider(TBF I Feel like Revice put more emphasis on Sakura than Daiji aside from the arc where he joins Akashi)

Well, if we don't take Oricon's ads as the voice of God, I will state that Neon has no less right to be called a secondary than Keiwa and Michinaga. She has a lot of script time, she was the first to team up with Geats and used more raise buckles than anyone else except the main rider.

That's actually a good point though: With Gotchard having fusion forms instead of mix and match, that at least limits the combos, although Build only had 30 combos + 2 Legend Rider theoretical combos + I think 7 full bottles specifically for Legend Riders, so only 32 (Plus 7 halves)s were outright unique forms, whereas every other form had to be mix-matching. If 100 cards had their corresponding forms, that would imply 50 unique forms rather than mixing combos. Even so, I don't think all cards will have a Gotchard form, but rather other Riders may use a card as their default form. We could have a Revice situation where the main rider uses the majority of collectibles, and the others are distributed amongst other riders in any amount.

To be fair, there has been no reason to believe that Gotchard will have the same Revice style of having forms directly reference past riders. Also, the rumor of Decade being in the show doesn't stem from Inoue being in the show, it was a Chinese listing of Gotchard-related items that listed one of the belts as something like "Gotchard Decade Driver" (paraphrasing the translation). So rather than Inoue showing as a random character, the belt is basically called a Gotchard-Decade Driver. What that means or implies really is up to interpretation, and the listing could easily be a misunderstanding (literally they had two listings for Fantasy buckle, one being labeled Type A and another Nago-ver, when that turned out to be false). Literally everything regarding Decade's presence and Inoue possible casting originate from the listing and Ironheng, both of which have mixed track records.

It would be amazing to see Decade have the role of say, Ultraman Zero's appearance in Ultraman Geed, but really there is no way of telling for the time being until we get a leak.



Also, a random thought but it struck me as interesting that Gotchard is the only other Rider besides Revice that has only the main Rider(s) on the poster and the first Reiwa Rider to have his bike featured in the poster. I kind of hope that it takes the Revice approach of only 3-4 max riders in the first quarter, and adds later if necessary. Maybe we'll also see more bike action!

I'm guessing the female Rider will probably be the tertiary. That's kind of been the thing with Reiwa outside Saber.

That writers name is Hiroki Uchido though, the kanji just can also be read as Yuki

Prerty sure you're confusing Hiroki Uchida with Fukuda. Uchida was not head writer on saber, he joined around episode 24 iirc and wrote like 5 episodes

Finally getting around to talk about this, and all I can say, is... KAMEN RIDER BUILD! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! *BE THE ONE! BE THE ONE!*

Or at least the synopsis and theming reminds me heavily of that. And if it's going to be an episodic format this time around, I'm honestly all for that. It'll help mix up the Reiwa Rider's current formula, also, because it's been awhile, but I won't be surprised if it isn't.

Still, love the suit, sounds like this'll be more light-hearted and fun (or maybe it's the Fourze and Build comparison sticking in my head) after we just had Geats. Then again... The word "Alchemist" drifts my mind to... *FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST

For the secondary rider I want Magical Girl Beast 2.0 but stores each card in a vinyl sleeve like how collectible card game players do and scolds Gotchard for not doing the same with his cards. :lolol

Then we are waiting for interesting news from Masahiro Inoue.

Personally, I'm excited for the writing team. Hasegawa just does great stuff in general and I'm interested in seeing Uchida taking a bigger role.

Just on a slight tangent in regards to Fukuda's involvement with Saber since that got brought up earlier, I feel there's a lot of misterpretations on that. It's easy to look at the numbers and say Fukuda only wrote a third of the show, but the impression I've always gotten about Saber was that it was always more roundtable and collaboration between its various writers. Like it was always meant to be the case that Mouri and Hasegawa would contribute quite a lot to Saber

The protagonist's allies I'd imagine be like Joey Wheeler & Tea Gardner. So they BETTER become riders too! The "Joey Wheeler" will probably be like Garren.

It is also interesting that the lore of the show basically excludes the possibility of evil riders. So if you want to show the battle of the riders, you will have to limit yourself to the introduction of a dark pseudo-rider, hypnosis or misunderstanding. Or change it`s own rules.

We've seen Geats riders that don't use the Raise Buckles. There could still be Evil Riders, but they'd need an entirely different collectible item.

And so that this item, on the contrary, turns positive characters into monsters.

Can't say that I am too familiar with the main writers work, but everyone else's optimism is a good sign. Also nice to have another highschool protagonist

As with most shows Rider shows, I hope the gimmick doesn't become an afterthought midway into the series. Some shows are better at writing around the yearly trinkets they have to plug. OOO is a great example

No it doesn't. There's undoubtedly going to be humans with malice that resonate with chemi that become Riders, using a different transformation device. The kaijin will likely be your typical out of control monsters, with dark riders being the same fusion but "refined."

That's not even considering the idea that some people may be able to harness the power of chemi to become Riders without fusing with them, or that there may be human-created tech Riders who don't utilize chemi or ride cards at all. We've had plenty of secondary and dark Riders that transform from completely different means to the hero.

Zi-O squandered his opportunity to become Fourze 2.0, even though it would have clearly benefited the show ("Geiz, Majesty" and "Zi-O vs Decade" are proof of that). But the presence of the school on the poster gives hope that Gotchard will spend more time there.
