I give it about 10 more episodes before you start to hate Destiny. Anyway, I watched the first 9 episodes of Dragonball Kai since watching Battle of Gods has put me in the first Dragonball mood I have been in since 2008. It has been pretty cool watching it again from the beginning, but man, I forgot how slow these episodes were. Thank the gods I'm not watching the full length version. Of course, one of these days I do eventually plan to finally sit down and watch the original series and then the Dragon Boxes of Z. Nevertheless, there are some really hysterical moments to be found here and episode 9 ends with Yamucha's death, so everything is really going to kick off on the next disc. |

Yeah, that is when it kind of becomes the Kira show 2.0.
Some of my favorite moments from DBZ Battle of Gods (spoiler warning): "26 minutes, that is the length of one anime episode." "Hey everyone, Vegeta has friends!!" Goku and King Kai in the car. Gotenks getting spanked. Whis at the sushi cart "I destroyed Earth." Vegeta's look when Kai told him it was up to him to save the Earth. Vegeta's dancing. The fact that Bulma now has a spaceship ready to launch at a moment's notice in her backyard. |

For those that watch Fairy Tail: how important of a character is Sting Eucliffe?
|
I watched the first episode of Akame Ga Kill, and I was sold in it in 44 seconds. I highly recommend it, I believe there is only 6 episodes so far. It's reminds of a JRPG kind of Tales of/Final Fantasy.
Also a character called Leone who is like a cat girl with big boobs and kind of similar to Yang from RWBY's personality. |

I'm sorry, what? I know jack about Fairy Tail and didn't follow a single thing you just said. At all. Also think you dropped a big spoiler casually but can't tell... So if you did, thanks for that. >_> I just want to know in general "does his character matter?" For reasons. |

Yes and no. He just there for the arc cause he just there with he partner rouge and there 2 exceed to really fight in arc |

Now, reason being, his English voice actor was just announced... As Michael from RoosterTeeth. Which is incredibly out of left field but totally awesome for him. And that's what got me interested. |

Like the most idiotic one I saw was. "Blake and Yang had a baby therefore Leone existed" Makes want to go slap one just because. |
Finished watching Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet and loved it. (Episodes 1 and 13 were written by Gen Urobutchi which was kind of strange.) Right now I'm watching Oreimo. So far it's not bad.

Pretty Cure All Stars New Stage 3 : Eien no Tomodachi: Annual Precure movie! Team-up between DokiDoki and Happiness Charge! Usual deal!
There's a mystery illness hitting Japan, kids all over the world are falling into deep slumber and not waking up, when Megumi Aino aka Cure Lovely falls to it it's up to the Precure to solve the mystery of the dream world, the tapir fairies and return everything to normal. There's something off about the whole movie, I understand the crossovers take place in their own continuity but one of the main triggers for the plot to start is the fact that HapCha is the newest team around, something that goes around everything stablished in the show itself (where they simply are one of the many teams working globally), likewise the interaction between all the teams is minimal, they do their team up attacks in the end, but outside of the newst two team, (which work independently for most of the film) the rest of the Cures add nothing to the story, the Yes cast has some moments for breaking the illusion, but even so it's really minor and if you don't find a way to add the Precure of dreams and hopes into your movie about dreams and hopes... well... shame on you movie. There are also no real twists to speak of, besides the appearance of Echo. Humor is ok, the action is cool, and production values are great, seeing the Doki gang is great, there are fun nods and all in all it has the usual Precure charm. But as a whole it's just ok, not really great. Ok fine, seeing Moonlight and Ace is frigging awesome. Also is it just me or there was something off about Hime's voice? She sounded a little bit too deep. |

Thanks for the info! :) |
Got to see DBZ Battle of Gods over the weekend. Not what I was expecting, but in a very good way. It was a standard DBZ story with DB's humor. That's the right balance I've wanted for a long time.
Meanwhile, I finally gave Fairy Tail a watch one random night a month or so ago. I would've gotten to this show a lot sooner if someone had told me Plue was in it (or rather that it was from Rave Master's creator). I like the pacing, I like the powers/action, I like the character, I like most everything I see. I haven't marathoned an anime this hard in a long time. I'm currently in the middle of the Tenrou Island arc. Now, I am trying to keep myself in the dark about this show. I don't want to know any of what's the come in the plot. That said, I would like to know what arc the Funimation dub currently ends on. I want to complete the arc before the current arc they are in and then wait for more arcs to be completed. PS If you're wondering, I'm not going to watch this show subbed. I'm sick of subbed anime. |
Blade Raider, why are you sick of subbed anime?
|
So for the double post but PSN is having an anime sale. Most of the movies/sets on sale is Naruto and Bleach related though, but the games include Atlus, NIS and Bandai Namco stuff

I need to watch Char's Counterattack in English. |
You know whats a really good anime dubbed that's been recent dubbed and is fairly new?
Psycho Pass.... 1. This Anime is sooo Good 2. Twisted, and just more twisted 3. It's by Gen Urobochi why wouldn't you watch it? That aside the anime is really good and the dub is spot on. |

And while I'm on it, Gundam Unicorn may be one of the best English dubs I've ever heard. More of that Sunrise I might consider your insanely overpriced DVDs. |
I'm the opposite. I find Gundam to be down right boring in English as the voices are usually subpar and drone on so much that I cannot follow the plots of the show. Hell, some of the actors seem to get worse and not better. Then you have the series that pointlessly change the names of characters and Gundams. I can understand if they wanted to call Tequila something else on Toonami, but there is NO excuse to have its edited dubbed name on my uncut DVDs!!!! Same goes for God Gundam, Devil Gundam, etc.
On the other hand, yes, Unicorn definitely does have the best Gundam dub ever because the actors actually took their roles seriously. |

I'm glad that somehow people pay these insane prices, and then donate the dvds to the library, so that way I can watch Gundam for free. I've been watching some clips from English CCA and listening to some of the voices and Char's voice sounds really generic. Considering how distinct his Japanese voice is, it's kinda hard to not compare the two. Bright also sounds really generic on English. But Amuro is fucking perfect, Brad Sawile did an awesome job from the scenes I saw. Granted, I could listen to Brad Sawile's Setsuna trying to open a jar of pickles for 12 hours and call it a fantastic performance. |
I watched Volume 2 of DBKai today. Got to watch Vegeta kick some ass. And my god, I love Chris Ayres' voice for Freeza.
I also watched the Dead Zone movie today (subbed). It is an okay movie, but nothing really spectacular. There was also a major flaw in Garlic's plan though. I mean, he tries to kill Piccolo at the beginning of the movie to get rid of Kami, but then he needs to collect the dragonballs to be granted immortality. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... if he killed Piccolo, the balls would have been gone. So why is he acting so surprised when Kami shows up? His plan was very dumb. Overall, I give it a 4/10 stars. It isn't anything insulting, but it isn't very good either. Watching Gohan drunk is probably the best part of it. |
