Did you see the ending of DaiRanger? It was the worst; It was the most confusing thing, that made no sense to me.

You're not wrong, but Yellow is closer to the screen and the camera's at an angle so maybe that's affecting it? When they're lined up next to each other, the difference isn't that gigantic, although its hard to tell, especially considering how the girls are always on opposite ends when they line up.

I actually noticed it first in the Geki change, Ahim launches through the air and she looks like a bobblehead. Those other grabs don't look so bad, but even with the angle thing in mind the proportions is screwy, I mean how friggin' tall is Marvelous then? :lol

It was like the plot started in the last five episodes, and then when they realised they'd run out of screen time they just gave up.

Gobus 43.

The villains in this show really suck. Enter has gotten a lot more badass, and Escape is well...Escape, but these Messiah Metaroids... just give it a rest already. They are SO BORING. All of them suck, they are weak, useless and poorly designed. The only one I even remember is the Baron one and although that was a decent episode, it had nothing to do with his involvement in it.

Sentai may lack a truly solid canon of stand out villains, but I'd still go out on a limb and say these Messiah Metaroids are easily some of the worst. Oh sure there have been crappier of the week villains, but they were never supposed to be anything more than they are. The fact that the whole plot of the show has shifted to focus around villains which don't even deserve to be the star of filler episodes just makes this show a bit painful for someone who watches these shows for the action as much as anything else.

This whole episode functioned as a painful reminder that the show actually ended before that Gavan two parter and that was a GREAT ending for the series. The fact that the epilogue is almost as long as the main series is agonising. After Gokaiger had been so continuously entertaining I was reluctant to go back to this series, and this episode really didn't help matters!

Sadly no. Older shows are slightly harder to do than the modern ones, and no one's really interested in doing JAKQ, translation-wise.

My bad. Yuichi has played so many female roles that he might as well be a honorary suit actress.

It's almost like they're padding the show and can't wait for it to all be over. To be fair, they've had some much better episodes built around them than the lead up to the first climax (which is possibly the low point of the series, after the start was so damn strong) but that doesn't change the new focus is really bad.

Kyoryuger is a popular series, but doesn't have the hype Dairanger does. I dunno, maybe it became edgy because Power Rangers skipped it, but the hype that proceeds it promises a much better series than a few good suit designs and fight scenes.

I'm going to finish watching Kyoryuger before thee Kyoryuger x Abaranger x Zyuranger w/ a special appearance by the Go-Busters movie gets subbed.

Most sub groups (Most? Let's be real. All sub groups) only sub what they see as interesting. They have no obligation to listen to fans and followers, which is why we end up with 3 sets of subs for some shows. Being at the mercy of sub groups, it boils down to "What do they want to sub next," rather than "What to the fans want subbed next?"

I guess that makes sense, they are doing us a service for free. It is a shame though that some shows have been subbed by like five people while others may never get subbed at all.

Yep. And the older shows tend to have a smaller fanbase than the more recent stuff outside of people who grew up with the shows. There are some people out there who like these shows and want to sub them, but it's a far smaller group than those who are more interested in subbing shows from the last 10-15 years.

It also tends to go by franchise, which is why you get a lot of Rider and Sentai shows subbed, but very little Ultra or Metal Heroes, much less more obscure things like Akumaizer-3 or Zubat.

I assume that the age of the series also has negative affects on both its video quality and, more importantly for translating, audio.

Gokaiger 05.

This show seems to love DekaRanger almost as much as Shinkenger, was Deka as huge in Japan as SPD is here in the US? And how is Deka? I felt SPD was grossly overrated (although Sky is one of my all time favourite Rangers) but I'm kinda intrigued by Deka after this episode, even with that dreadful suit for Doggie, if nothing else for more reasons to stare at Nossan's gorgeous sister. Err...

Given, once again, that SPD was very different to DekaRanger in some crucial areas, it would have been really great to see Super Megaforce tackle this. Given the allusions to Time Force and In Space in SPD, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to have the SPD sent back to the past or to have the Megaforce Rangers sent to the future.

And given that that team has changed so much, isn't Bridge currently that teams Red? It would be cool to see what they are up to now. But of course that would have involved original footage with the Kruger suit and LOL FUCK THAT, DISNEY HAH.

The Changes in this episode were fantastic though, a lot more imaginative and higher concept than a lot of the ones we've seen so far. Disappointed at the lack of smoke/gas in the Dairanger change, considering someone sprayed that stuff at least thirty times an episode.

Even with all that - Marvelous still stole the show. He was just so damn badass in this episode. And I don't normally talk about this BUT THE MUSIC. Every track in this show is just awesome, and makes every scene feel so badass.

Why are mech fights at night always so damn gorgeous? The Dragon Robot for their ship was pretty damn lame, but considering all they really got from Deka was a couple of pistols it was WAY cooler.

Dekaranger was immensely popular. It's the only Sentai series that nearly got a second season and the first past season to get both Figuarts and an SRC. I'll be very surprised if Toei doesn't do a 10 Years Later special for the show now that Hurricaneger has set the precedent.

Personally, it's my favorite Sentai series of all time.

I'll make sure to give Deka a look in once I'm done with Gokaiger.

10 years after Dekaranger would blow my tiny mind. I desperately wish it had gotten that second season. Even seeing how weak the fan reaction to the Hurricanger 10 years movie was, I don't think Dekaranger would have the same problem. It's too popular.

No it was just an absurdly long show much like the original Kamen Rider.

Gokaiger definitely has one of the best soundtracks of all the different Sentai shows I've watched. Everything punctuates the scenes really well. The time I felt let down is when they didn't use the Gekiranger or Jetman openings for the tribute battle.

Sorry, not trying to troll you, but Kyoryu is very hyped. However, the hype is not the problem. The ending to Kyoryu does the exact same thing the ending to Dai does, so you cannot hate one ending while liking the other.

BTW, just to warn you now, DekaRanger is one of the most filler esque Sentai series ever. In fact, there are probably a total of 5 episodes that even deal with an overarching plot, and even that is paper thin. You could literally watch the first two episodes, the intro to DekaMaster, the intro to DekaBreak, and then the final 3 episodes and be perfectly good.

I guess that wont bother me as I don't know the original themes.

Dekaranger is a different beast. It's literally "What if the police were power rangers?"
So rather than having a gigantic, overarching plot, it's more day-to-day procedural (Minus the paperwork).

If you want a good, action packed series, Dekaranger is the show to go with. If you want a series with a meaty story, I'd put Deka on the back burner...

Between the shameless fan service and the shitty invisible goof of a monster, this was probably the only truly bad episode so far. Why didn't Gia get to parade around in a maids outfit?

Plus - I gotta ask, if the Gokaiger's know nothing of super sentai, how'd they know the name, fighting style and powers of every change they use? This never really bothered me, as usually their personality bleeds through the changes enough to make it feel like any similarities to the past rangers is coincidental. But when Luka used the GoGo V change to get through the fire, or Carranger to get to the fight, it just seemed too self aware. Those JAKQ suits seriously are delicious though. Shame their actual powers are pretty lame.

I assume the changes bestow the knowledge of their powers into them when they transform, since Sentai often have them know a lot of their abilities as soon as they transform or that they've already practised with all their powers. They've had the keys for quite a while prior to the series.

They are this galaxy wide threat, destroyer of worlds...and they have that moron as one of their generals? Just no.

There's quite a few comedic generals in the Zangyack empire. Four off the top of my head, one of which appears in two episodes and the Gavan VS Gokaiger and Gobusters VS Gokaiger movies. I actually really enjoyed all of them.

I hate sentai humour most of the time, so regardless of the context or not I was probably never gonna like them anyway.

I guess you to have my sort of immaturity, but I loved the guy in this Luka episode and the recurring one.

Even as a kid I never found goofiness particularly funny, so as an adult it's like nails down a chalkboard. Especially so when they're part of an army so dangerous every sentai had to give up their powers to fight them off.
