It had the depth of storytelling, the beautiful animation style. And you believed, for those fleeting one hour and forty five minutes, that those Labors could exist in a real world. They moved with a real weight to them. Now, I love Gundams. I love how wild and crazy the designs can get. But I love a real Mech anime. Maybe that's why I loved 8th MS Team so much. Gundam, but they were real'er Gundams.

Agreed, these were machines first and foremost, and were treated as such by the production staff. And the storytelling and animation, the pacing was appropriate and I just got swept up into the story. Even to this day.

G-Gundam 2. Visually this show is stunning given its age, both in how well animated it is but also in the vision of the future it depicts in its world, it is all wrapped up in some great sound design and music.

Maxter was really cool, I love how it wasn't in your face about it, but made it very American nontheless, for a show this ridiculous I'm impressed it hasn't divulged in insulting parody but that might come later, the US are usually easy targets though. Also you gotta love the Shining Gundam smashing out of the statue of liberty with Kasshu's ridiculous finger click and GUNDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM

The action in this show is fantastic as well, I know it isn't for everyone but I much prefer these 'Super Robo' style shows than the kind of mech shows that treat the mechs as very delicate, very complicated pieces of tech. I'm a big kid honestly. It's just a shame Maxter went down so quickly, the Gundam Fights aren't always gonna be tacked on at the end of the episodes are they?

Also absolutely nothing about the Gundam fight makes sense, if they just wanted DBZ with Gundam then that would be fine, I don't understand why they keep pretending to have a plot then put no effort into it.

You have to remember, it's still Gundam. Considering all the changes G Gundam did compared to every other Gundam series beyond SD (To the point that G is considered the black sheep of the Gundam franchise), they needed some kind of needlessly large plot (Not necessarily complex, just large), less they risk Gundam fans rioting in the streets :p

There is a plot. As crazy as that sounds.

Nothing wrong with some super robot action,especially when the rule of cool comes into effect. The plot will come a little later, right now the show is selling you on the changed format, and the meet and greets of your major players. G Gundam was a lot of fun, and Master Asia is a total bamf.

Been watching the World God Only Knows in preperation for the third season. Someone tell DaiRiderRX that I discovered a better pink haired idol then Luka... KANON! :D
