Just watched episode 8 of Psycho Pass New Edit (which if I'm right is episodes 15 and 16?). My jaw hasn't dropped over an ending like that in a LONG time.

So I watched the first two episodes of Ga-Rei Zero. Why have I never watched this before? It was such a feast for the eyes (to me at least). Everything came off as interesting as all hell (Resident Evil mixed with sword fighting femme fatales? Sign me up!). The music was just perfection and, yeah, I loved the hell out of the episodes.

Gundam Unicorn Episode 2
That is Char's voice coming out of Full Frontal's body. That is such a weird thing. I get its apart of the story, hell they even mention it in the show, so its not just a cute little reference, but.... yeah. One thing this does mean is that I'll be guaranteed watching it with subs because I love Char's voice that much. And when he takes of the mask he's....somebody? He sorta looks like Char, with the flowing and curling blonde hair and the masculine traits and he looks about the right age, but his face is the thing that gets me. He's had so many minor design changes to his face from the various series and movies I can't tell if this is him or a lookalike Let's talk about the Sinaju. God that's a fucking amazing mobile suit. Its everything I love about the MG Sazabi ver Ka on crack. And those thrusters! And those wings, and those angles, and the beautiful black and red!Ungh! Sorry, I get kind of a hard on for these CCA and Unicorn suits. And Banagher got captured and...they don't do anything to him. Huh....Neo-Zeon is much more sympathetic then I thought. I'm wondering with Banagher's flashbacks that they're hinting he's a cybernewtype, or at the very least, his dad was testing his Newtype abilities so that way he can entrust the box to him (going along with my little "Laplace Box evolves Newtypes" theory.) |

Anyway, you'll see what Laplace's box is. You may or may not be disappointed. For me, just understanding what it was made me think for a moment. |

Broken Blade episode 1
This is the original OVA version. I would love to watch the TV series version but *in terribly racist hispanic accent* they do not have it my country. Those gold Golems look like Hyaku Shikis This world is weird, they dress like a mix of middle ages/Renaissance era yet also wear modern underwear, shirts and have backpacks. So this episode was mainly about Rygart and him piloting this new Golem (the mecha for this series). I loved the flashbacks adding to Rygart and how him being an un-socerer affects him. Which is to say, not very much. But people all around him want him to be a socrerer (like his dad) or be a militant person (the king). There's some mystery about how the ancient people made a non-magic reliant Golem, but the most interesting part of that initial intrigue was the Queen saying that maybe the people of today aren't the descendants of the ancient people, due to their wielding of magic. The Golem designs are okay, I mentioned the gold Golems looking like the Hyaku Shiki but I swear there was a royal Golem that looked like those Londo Bell tank suits from Unicorn. I'll defintley keep watching. |
I watched the first four episodes of Sword Art Online and its a pretty neat show.
I primarily checked it out because in germany it gets hyped by every single anime fan I know so I wanted to know whats so good about the show that warrants said hype. But I gotta say I dont see where the hype is coming from just yet. The premise is nice but not the most original out there. The Characters dont have much going for them, especially since we dont get to know any of them. The Main character is also pretty boring on his own. Atleast for now he didnt have to face any challenges since he is so incredibly good in the game. Yes he suffers because everyone around him dies but its hard to feel sorry for the dude when you barely know anything about him. I also dont really understand how the game is supposed to work. Maybe its my minimal knowledge about MMORPGs thats the problem but sometimes I just dont have a clue whats going on :lol |
I´m now past episode 12 of Sword Art Online and now I really cant see where all the hype is coming from. The show is cool and all but its not that outstanding to be honest. The show is just your typical fantasy action anime with a little videogame flavor thrown in. The worst part is that the game aspect doesnt feel vital to the show and is just handled very superficial.
The rest of the show also feels kinda empty. Its very episodic and I dont get a sense of a bigger story the show is trying to tell. The Characters feel very empty too and its hard for me to get invested in them. Oh yeah and the romance is really getting on my nerves too. It just feels very forced and kinda tacked on. Yeah I´m not a big fan of this anime but for now I will keep watching atleast until they change the really really good opening theme :lol |

Just kidding. I myself prefer the Phantom Bullet Arc in SAO over anything else, but hey that's me. |
The only thing I really like about Asuna is her outfit and that she is voiced by Lady Candelira :lol

I haven't watched anime in I think three years...but my addiction to the Love Live Rhythm game got me to watch the show and I have to saw it was adorable. Since I began watching it while I was working on making exercising and stretching a daily routine it was nice seeing the girls have to make similar changes to their life.
Whenever I didn't want to go work out I was able to think that if someone like Honoka could keep to such a hard schedule then I could too ;) I plan on starting the second season soon but there are a few dramas I need to get to first. |

NOw if only I could get Eri to be my personal trainer somehow. |
Sword Art Online is one of those shows where going into it on word of mouth won't help you. It's either grossly over-hyped or annoyingly criticized. You literally have to go in and form your own opinion.
Personally I really like the series, though also have my fair share of issues. |
I agree with Shin. I went into it when it was on Toonami and I loved the ever living shit out of it because I loved the concept and it reminded me so much of .hack in a way. It isn't a perfect series but I found it to be very nice and great to watch.

I am thinking of getting into Yokai Watch and see what the whole craze is about. Apparently it is being called the next challenger Pokemon should be watching out for.

So... How many episodes does it take to finish the Eddie's lobby arc in One piece?

It's long! :P But for once I'm okay with it because it's the only arc I haven't watched in any format, and I might end up stopping my viewing of the dub once it finishes up (since the hubbub around it is what made me get back into One Piece). |

In manga form, it is one of my favorite arcs. In anime form, it makes the Buu saga fights look short. |
Anyone watch the Doraemon dub yet?

So I almost finished SAO and have only one episode to go. However I feel that I can write my final thoughts right now since nothing can happen that will change my feelings on this show.
Up to the last few episodes I thought it was a nice lttle show with cool designs, a nice but underused premise, kinda bland but overall likeable characters and great animation. Even though the first half bored me most of the times I was about to say that the second half improved on most things. Kirito became alot more interesting as a protagonist and the new characters were also pretty nice. My main gripe was that Asuna was pretty much reduced to an object...and then the show had to go there. Yes I am talking about the incredibly tasteless and juvenile use of rape in this show. It made me absolutely hate this show in a way I couldnt have imagined up to this point. The rape had no place in this show what so ever since it served no purpose other than making the villian into a overly creepy bastard. Asuna didnt grew as a character and neither did Kirito. It was just there to creep you out and I abolutely hate that. Oh and the way Kirito killed the final bad guy made me even more mad. Yeah torturing the guy out of revenge until he dies makes you really sympathetic. I really wanted to like this show and in some parts I did. The worst thing I thought about this show was that it had really underused and bland elements to it. But the whole rape and torture thing at the end killed virtually every enjoyment I had with this show. |

I also watched the first three episodes of Kill La Kill and I´m enjoying the hell out of it. Its so batshit insane and I´m a giant sucker for that. |
Another DBZ movie duo:
Broly The Legendary Super Saiyan (aka LOOK!! More Saiyans Survived!): Just as my subtitle for it says, another movie where it turns out there are still more Saiyans in the universe. So much for there only being four, huh? The movie is not that bad actually, as it does try to tell a good story. The problem is, the plot is just so boring to sit through because Brolli and his father are just not that interesting. The animation is nice though. If the movie had been about 15 minute shorter though, featured better action scenes, it would have been a much better movie and the best of the movies at this point. Instead, the pacing is horrible and the fights are about as exciting as watching butter melt. Thankfully they don't do the Krillin getting owned joke again that all of the movies prior had been doing. Overall, I give this one a 6/10. Bojack Unbound: Wait, can it be, a movie where Goku not only does NOT save the day, but it is all up to Gohan to do it? WOW!! Okay, Goku still has a little part in it, but the fact that Goku does not have to defeat the villain is what makes this one stand out. It has an interesting premise to it and it really isn't that bad of a movie. The only real downside to the movie is that Bojack and his crew are just generic villains. There is nothing that makes any of them remotely interesting and they do go down a little too easily. On the other hand, not having everyone having to give up their energy to defeat the villain was also a nice change of pace. Due to this, the movie might not be perfect, but thanks to its animation, music, and getting to watch Gohan kick ass, I also give this one a 6/10 stars. |
