You cannot tell me this is not one of the greatest Gundam designs ever after that commerical.

I mean it's not that amazing. It's cool for sure, but it's kinda an overdetailed design and the sword is weirdly ornate for a design that's light on decorative flare.

The only reason it's so detailed is because of all the exposed frame, which is there to make it lighter in-universe. And it seems that with every kit of the Astray, they make the sword flashier. Odd, since I don't believe it's very fancy in the manga.

G-Tekketsu isn't gonna be Crossbone, seeing as how tekketsu means exposure/gouging. That and there is a cleaned up shot of the suit that reveals a little more.

I think it's going to be a new suit that looks either monstorous or has a special weapon built inside it.

No, that's definitely not true, because then why is the head so greebly and overdone? It's purely an aesthetic quibble. Also, depsite having an exposed frame, the body seems just as bulky as any other Gundam.

Gundam Drei? It looks sort of similar asthetically.

Greebly? The back of the head's exposed because, again, minimal armor. The only details that even begin to support your point are the black stripes on the top of the head. Everything else is no more or less detailed than any other Gundam from the Cosmic Era.

That was a rather nicely done preview, not enough to make me purchase, but still pretty darn cool.

That is one non-traditional main suit design, a touch of Five Star Stories. I am anticipating the full reveal and I appreciate that Bandai is allowing the designers the freedom to run with whatever whim inspires them.

Did anyone ever play this game? I'm curious because I saw someone celebrating it's 10th anniversary on twitter and I've never heard of it before.

Yes, and in fact I think it was a fairly decent game and a worthy addition to mecha rpgs :D

Yeah, the story is light hearted but from what I remember it was pretty fun. It's kinda like Gundam Breaker where you're allowed to kitbash your own suit out of different parts you find throughout the game.

It's not the best but not the worst either.

I thought it was a fantastic game. But also fairly difficult if you didn't upgrade your machines properly. The final few boss fights in particular were rough. But very very enjoyable. I actually loved that game and had always hope for a next gen remaster or sequel but I doubt such a thing would ever happen :(

How'd you guys even play the game? I'm looking it up on ebay and it goes for $50 dollars easily. So I guess it is not easy to get.

I had a PS2 but I had a lot of dumb terrible games for it. If I knew stuff like MS Saga was on there.... would've had a better time.

I read about it and honestly, it sounds really cool. May have to keep an eye out for it.

It's a pretty great game. It's definitely where the concept of Gundam Breaker originates. In very much the same way that Turn A unified the various AU & UC shows up to the time it was released into one timeline, so does MS Saga. Every show that had aired by the time of this game is included in it's dark forgotten history. So there are pieces for mobile suits from the various eras spread all over the planet. The mix and match aspect is great and works so well because of the semi-SD art style they went with. It allowed them to animate any combination you could come up with for the game.

Well, just a few more days and we find out the final look, but from what I see so far I'm liking it. Def has that monstrous look I thought it would so far.

That image of the G-Tekketsu I posted yesterday was a photoshop of this one. All they did was copy each part of what has been revealed, speculating that it's symmetrical. It could possibly not be, or the shadowed areas on the actual photo could be hiding a logo or the pilot.

I've also been thinking about getting a Char's Zaku 2, but I'm torn between getting the RG or the HG Origin one with the massive cannon. Any upsides or downsides to either?

Very little actually. With it being convention season, I have a lot of leather work for people's costumes I need to finish by various deadlines plus my other jobs and raising a new baby. Plus I have several anime Garage kits and lead miniatures to work on.

It's pretty much a matter of details and price. Both have their pluses and minuses. I know some people only like certain Grades or scales but for me, I don't think you can go wrong with a RG or MG kit and as to HG kits, they are just pure fun to build and depending on your skill level, you can still do some amazing things with a HG kit. They have come such a long way in quality since the Gundam kits I used to build in the 1980s.

Got the W0H and Astray Red Frame HG kits Saturday and built them, currently debating whether to get the HG Try Burning and HG Transient next.

The Try Burning is a great kit. Lots of articulation, lots of hands, and lots and lots of flames.

It's a bulked up suit with the important gundam motifs, so that's cool.

But I just love the joints, it's such a bulky sillhoutte and yet all the joints feel small and delicate, I dig that.
That waist could be a nightmare in HG, but I can't wait to see it on higher scales.
