MLP is just another hobby. Some make it an obsession, but anyone can obsess over anything. Just look at Prime and how many people write slashfiction and make creepy drawings of it. Doesn't mean every single fan of it is a creep. I don't like MLP, nad I will agree it sometimes gets insufferable when it's everywhere... but that has nothing to do with the subject matter. It doesn't make me hate all MLP fans or MLP itself, just the individuals that go out of their way to make it obscenely relevant. And I'm not talking about going off-topic every now and then, I'm talkign about the ones that go nuts. And again, any fan can do that, no matter what they're a fan of. Quote:

Ohmygod, why are we talking about Bronies and MLP in the Figuarts thread? Talking about it isn't going to make them talking about MLP any less annoyingly everywhere. It just makes the matter worse.
Yes, yay, some bronies had another off-topic conversation about ponies, but they were told respectfully to stop it and (hopefully) they will, so what is continuing the conversation of wether MLP and bronies are good or not going to achieve? Nothing. And now by saying I think people should stop talking about Bronies and bronies should stop off-topic talking about MLP, I am talking about MLP off-topic and Bronies. God, I can't win. |
Seriously guys this conversation ends now.
This thread has been way derailed. Take Bronie/Pony talk to the MLP thread. The occasional mention is no big deal but now 2 full pages of this thread have been taken up by it. And this isn't the first time a thread has been hijacked like this. Please try to keep a lid on off topic discussions. Any posts which further derail the topic will be deleted. |

Staff Edit
that aside, ive never once ordered anything from Mandarake, I constantly go there and look at what they have but never actually make an order |
I have over 100 Figuarts, and maybe 20 SIC figures? One SIC set came from a forum member, one from HLJ, the rest from Mandarake. At least 90% of my Figuarts have come from Mandarake. It's the greatest place in the world to shop for Toku toys.
I visit Mandarake as much as I visit this forum, and FAR more than I do any other shopping site. It's an addicting place, so stay away from it! (more for me!) So, Fourze Base States is pretty awesome. I should not have gone so long without getting him. And in trying to set him up for a rocket drill kick, my first breakage of an Act 4 stage just occurred. The peg on the arm broke off inside the clip. Fudge! So I guess I'll put him on his bike instead. I recently picked up the R&M Knight Survive with DarkRaider set. My SHF Knight Survive is packed away because I'm moving in two weeks, but I have Ryuki Blank on my desk at work, so I brought the Bike in, and it's closely enough scaled that it works great. It looks pretty good, too. Not Figuarts level detail, but the paint is sufficiently shiny, and it looks cool, so my Knight Survive now has a bike. yay! I would buy the hell out of a Figuarts release of DarkRaider. |
Honestly, if I had a full time job, and was getting paid right now, I would have twice as many Figuarts as I do now. I would have Ryuga, Genocider, Magnuwhatever, all of the Kabuto riders, etc.

I've got a saved search for Dragranzer too. And I'm trying to find an R&M RideShooter or two as well, but they're pretty dang rare on Mandarake nowadays. The DX one I talked about recently I'm not pretty sure will NOT work, it's too small from what I can see. But the R&M/SH version will work.

Anyway, what's the chances of getting a Samurai Green/ShinkenGreen with DragonRanger's shield Figuart? :p
|
Now your post and his have been edited. Again, keep it on topic. No off topic discussion, jabs, snide remarks, or otherwise from either side.

So......
Any chance of a in scale rad bug for my Ranger figuarts like the car from Akibaranger? That would be fantastic! ( obvious joke , if it wasn't obvious ) |
Just recieved my second Figuarts ever, Sieg!
Looking past my bias of Sieg as a fucking great design and great guy, I'd say this deffinitely an improvement over W... but not by a country mile. (more like a hamster mile) Right out of the box both kneecaps fell off. No biggie, glue fixed it. Set him aside in his arm-behind-back-while-sipping-coffee pose while I built my amazing OOO model. Came back to him and tried to get him to sit. He cannot. At least not naturally or without his left leg popping off. The sculpt limits the basic ability to sit. He's also looser than I thought... but halfway in a good way. There's no stupid tight joints like W, so everything moves nicely and freely (again, if the sculpt doesn't get in the way) but his shoulder pads go nuts. I like that his little heel wings move, I like that all his feathers move, but his sub-shoulder pads sometimes make them go crazy (read: every time his arms aren't at his sides) but I love how, despite being an all-white dude, he's got subtle blue and warm whites mixed together to keep him visually interesting. His hands also swap super easy, but he only has three extras? God damn, I know Sieg wasn't a very possession-y guy (odd considering a Prince would like to own shit, right?) and I'm not expecting his big bed, but just the coffee cup and plate in addition to three measly extra hands? Not even the baby he possessed? Not even the big, fruity coffee cup that looked like it came from an antique store's discount shelf he used from the show? Not even a pointing hand to keep the help humble? (you know, that gesture he's doing on the fucking box) Hmmm... Suffice to say, I'm still not a big Figuarts fan... which is why my next Figuarts purchase will be Ryuki. Since he is the one I never hear a single bad thing about, and the one everyone says is so fun, he will be the toy to, at the very least, legitimize the hype around Figuarts for me. Hopefully. Don't get me wrong, I love Sieg, but I need a Figuart where I can do what I've seen reviewers do and pick it up and not find giant flaws. |
The problem is that what you have is another older figure that doesnt have the vast improements the line has incoporated in the last couple years. If you want a good example of the line try any of the Ryuki riders, seriously all of them. Even the characters I hate turndd out incredible in toy form.
|
Did Figuarts ever get over the "hey let's show the character doing iconic stuff on the box the toy can't do?"
Also funny how every Figuart I get happens to be an old one without the improvements. But yeah, Ryuki's next for sure, no question. |
Quote:
And, outside of a couple examples (Like Red Buster unable to perform his signature pose), most recent Figuarts should be able to pull off their show's signature posing (Including the stuff on the box :lol) |

I don't think my question was answered when I posted Negataro's gallery up(Shameless plug I know)
Does NEgataros use a new body? I can't really tell since the gallery I found didn't post any side by sides. |
So any character I'm likely to want is shit because they're old? Awesome.
Also Sieg's double-jointed elbows don't work. There's only enough clearence to use the lowest joint. |

I still love my Figuarts Joker and Skull |

For an "old' Figuarts Sieg is also really good. But, well, I have barely heard anything negative about Figuarts with the exception of the OOO ones and Wizard's. I thought they'd be, like, the ultimate versions of the characters.

I'd love if we got redone versions of older, popular characters with better Figuarts. But not before we get Wing Form. |

Oh right, I forgot!
NEW MOMO but not before Wing Form OR GTFO. |

Which Skull was is that had the fucked-up crotch though? I think it was Skull Crystal that actually had that bit reversed.

Put an order in for the Kuuga Mighty Form restock in at HJL as well considering I know fuck all about AmiAmi and they haven't sent me any confirmation on my order yet.
That said the HLJ order is like a thousand yen more expensive and I don't know if their shipping is more expensive than AmiAmi's as well. Also the site was really fucking glitchy when I placed my order so it's possible I placed two orders at HLJ :lol |

Kuuga's only like 370 yen more at HLJ than AmiAmi. HLJ shipping's usually cheaper though.
|
Oh yeah you're totally right, I dunno how I over calculated that so badly.

Don't own base Ryuki myself, just Survive, which is an amazing, beautiful figure. My W seems to have gotten a bit worse over the months, the Cyclone half's leg is a tad looser than it once was and that's disheartening. Anyways, other than astroswitches that pop out and are ungodly easy to lose, Fourze is pretty damn awesome. I like my Wizard figure. And as has been said, the Ryuki ones are amazing. Black RX is great as well, but incredibly simple. |

Everything about him is so damned frustrating to pose. |
Same reason why they show both V3 and Ichigo doing poses that for some reason they can't actually do. The pictures on the box are from the prototype, which probably allowed the arms to extend longer than the final product could.
And the plugs on the Ryuki riders don't really fall off on every figure. I only have the right elbow plug fall off on Ryuki when I hit it. I don't have that problem with Ouja, Raia, Gai, Knight, and Zolda. I do have some paint chips on my of my Ryuki's though (reg and Sur). The only figure I really have QC issues with is Gavan. |

I'm a bit surprised Figuarts took off considering how the line started, but then again it's not like there was an alternative. |
