The phrase I've heard to describe the Mecha so far is "like Shinkenger but from the 80s."

That doesn't bode well for me, then again, I still haven't seen it and maybe they'll look like blocky Bakugan (plain geometric mode that unfolds into more detailed beast mode).

I've also heard mention that the animals "fold out" implying they could possibly be hollow.

Leave it to the Mecha to once again destroy a lot of my interest in this.

"Cube based" ... great.

And yeah. Black Ranger as a Gorilla will not be receptive over in the United States, especially not right now with tensions super high on the civil rights front.

It's a black animal given to a black ranger who will be played by a Japanese actor. I really don't even begin to see why anyone thinks people are gonna have an issue.
