May is going to be a big month. I wish I hadn't preordered the Medicom Eva-01 reissue now, with all of the great Tamashii stuff dropping then. lol. Oh well. More importantly.. I wish I wasn't getting Nendoroid Luigi now. I got him thinking this'll be the best we'll get, then Tamashii reveals SMB. Oh the for the love of God. lol.

As one guy put it: Nendo Luigi is a regular Luigi and this SHF Mario is him after a mushroom. :P

It's rare for the cost of the toys to screw you, it's just usually you have to go through middlemen and ship it across and that is where the money starts to become ridiculous.

It would me, because so many people seem to have this thing about Bandai arbitrarily reassigning certain figures to different properties I don't get. :lol Like, the people who say a theoretical Goldar or Dragonzord would be MonsterArts, or Jet Jaguar would be an Ultra-Act. There's no reason a possible Bowser figure can't simply be a SHF.

Think it was mentioned before they're targeting GameStop (who carry the figma Samus and Link reissues) with Mario, but I see no reason why Mario couldn't be at TRU or Barnes & Noble as well.

Bowser is an non humanoid character and S.H Figuarts tend to be release humanoid characters only. It would not make sense to have him as a figuart.

Tell that to the incoming SH Figuarts Lucario.

S.H. Figuarts tend to keep its properties within its line as well. That's why you have "Figuarts" of motorcycles, stand and accessory sets, a disembodied arm, and a vending machine, and an anthropomorphic turtle-reptile-dinosaur isn't that less humanoid than Mirror Monsters, Buddyroids, or Greeed. His proportions are simply as deformed as they are on Mario.

You know what I could see happen? Bowser turned into a Figuarts Zero. That would be a shame, I'd rather something along the lines of D-Arts Blastoise, but would not be unimaginable. Bonus points though if a Bowser, however released, came out alongside a castle-themed accessory set.

I could see that happen too but remember: They were able to give Blastoise a decent range of motion in D-Arts

Lucario can be view humanoid similar to how to the Kamen Rider monsters. Jet Jaguar would also never become a Ultra Act given that line is for Ultraman characters and other heroes from Tsuburaya Productions only.

I'd be curious to know how they'd do an S.H. Figuarts Princess Peach or Daisy.

Given how their dresses are and how Figuart dresses then to be rigid I'd say Figuarts Zeros, which is a shame as both of them have done their fair share of action in the past.

I could see them being regular Figuarts if the dresses are that soft plastic people seem to like and if the cuts are placed smartly enough.

It says "In Stores (Japan Launch)," though, so that to me doesn't indicate it'll be retail anywhere else... So I have to ask, where'd you see the GameStop information? Even so, Samus and Link, I'm fairly certain, are strictly online purchases. Not like you'd ever see one in store anyways since most GameStops I've ever been to (particularly the one closest at home, with one here at school only marginally better) literally never have any non-game merchandise.

Edit: Just saw Bluefin's Facebook post. Still nothing about it being available anywhere special, but it does confirm a June release for the States. Which is a relief for me. And pretty much means I'll preorder Mario and both playsets...

This is not the kind of thing that got an official press release, if that's what you're getting at. I'm sure much of it is that this isn't a done deal, but it makes some sense to hit Bandai's competition on every available front. It's also part of the reason why Mario isn't packed in with all the accessories making up the two dioramas, to make him a more competitive package alongside a $50 Samus or Link, but that helps in general too. (Didn't realize they wouldn't be on GS shelves however, I've paid zero attention to those specific releases.) Oh, and it was gleaned from Twitter. Bluefin's got a lot of guys passionate about their products.

As cool as that is, I'll pass. I have no desire to own anything Mario related outside of video games. Now a Link, Ganondorf, and Samus would be awesome.

But why would you even need figuarts of Link & Samus? The Figmas are more than good enough. And they fit right in with things like D-arts Megaman or Nendroid Sonic for a nice Smash Bros display.

I may need to seek out Figma Link, Samus, and Pit now. I still have the Kotobukiya Mega Man model from a while back, so I'm good on him (also have Roll and Protoman from that short lived line).

Who is up for some Tekken Figuarts?
I want me some Kazuya, Paul Phoenix, and Kuma.

Because I don't want the Figmas. For one thing, they are using Skyward Sword Link and Other M Samus. Yes, the figures themselves look cool, but Other M is the worst Metroid game ever conceived while I want OoT Link. Secondly, they are bigger than Figuarts. Third, I don't own any Figmas, so they would look out of place in my collection.

The Figmas are cool, and I considered buying them, but now that Bandai is doing Nintendo brand Figuarts, I might as well wait.

And what makes you think Bandai would do OoT Link rather than the next Zelda game version? The reason Figma did those was because they were the latest games released at the time.

And granted Samus is slightly taller, but you make it sound like the Figma are completely out of scale with the Figuarts. They really aren't.

I've got him presently posed in the middle of the four Pokemon D-Arts. He fits in perfectly there, too. Pit and Samus too (although yes, she is somewhat taller than I expected). They're the three of four Figmas I own and they don't look out of place at all.

Max Factory made Other M Samus and SS Link because they had to. The contract they were given was that the characters had to be their most recent iterations. I really doubt Bandai's is any different for any potential future Figuarts.
