I only buy Selects and haven't collected Legends since I was a kid - dunno where "Ultimates" came from :lol

Selects may not always have the most incredibly articulation but the quality of the figures and the sculpts is excellent and as they are there to look pretty on our shelves and not to play with, I'm more than happy with them.

Plus the Hot Toys are a bit to pricey even for an average collector so the figmas are a nice alternative.

Yes. I was pretty much going to say this. Figmas have crisper detail, and cleaner paint application, and they usually feel better as well.

But Marvel Selects aren't in scale with Figuarts...I like having a bunch of stuff in the same scale. :lol and I like to play with my toys, so that could be why I personally don't like Marvel Selects all that much, since they don't have much articulation.

Yeah, pretty much this. And Selects are more display pieces due to articulation. Legends just are in a different class/scale.

ML & MSelects are great, especially for what they are. But with Figuarts, the level of detail and sculpt are a bit high, characters are more screen-accurate. And Figma is in this class.

Considering we only got an uncolored sketch, I'd say they're still in planning stages right now. We might see something by the end of the year or Jan/Feb next year.

Yeah, to be honest you're probably looking around the next Wonderfest (Jan-Feb) for actual prototypes of those. And even then there were ones showed off on cards last time that didn't turn up at this event.

Selects I can give you, but you're really saying Legends are more screen-accurate than Figma could be?

At the very least, they're on par with each other. At very most, Figma's attention to detail can blow Legends out of the water.

Looks Guyver Unit 01 is up for pre-order on Image Anime. I'm glad that is finally coming out. I hope he sells well enough to get Guyver Unit 02, Unit 03 and Unit 04. There's a 4th Guyver, it's a female Guyver that shows up later on in the manga.

ORDER PLACED. Looks like August is Figma month for me he is released around the same time as Ryuko.

I got Thor today and I'm pretty happy with him. I was very worried by some of those photos people had been uploading, the face sculpt definitely isn't as good as a lot of the Hasbro stuff, but he looks fine in person and the articulation and quality of the rest of the sculpt really make up for it. It's way ahead of anything you'll see in American stores.

I think the Hulk may end up suffering quite a lot, since his face is so big, but I'm really looking forward to Iron Man and Captain America at least.

I certainly don't consider myself a toy photographer, but I think a lot of the pictures we've seen of him in reviews aren't good at showing the details. It probably sounds like a cliche excuse, but he really does just look a lot better in person, it's nowhere near as "blobby" as it seemed from those online reviews.

Iron Man has been pushed back to September.

Which I don't really have any problem with, as long as in turn Captain America is pushed back to October. September's expensive enough as it is.

Not sure how I feel about the delay, on one hand I guess that means that some finances are freed up for August but on the other hand, September will probably become more expensive, not to mention it's also back-to-school for me...

I didn't talk much about why I was unhappy with the Walmart Avengers Thor, but it came down to mainly to how the articulation worked, or didn't. And how the knee and elbow joints are made of soft bendy plastic that can make his arms and legs look ugly.

Seeing a group shot of the Hasbro Avengers though, I no longer think that Thor scales as well with that Cap, since he should probably be a bit taller than Cap. But that's by no means a deal breaker, since I'm getting the Figma Cap.

Iron Man pushed back to Sept I guess helps this month be easier, but Sept is the most vicious month I have ever had for pre-orders. I don't know how I'm possibly going to be able to pay for it all. :(

I see what you mean, I haven't gotten Thor yet, but from a review I've seen, thought he'd be at least a bit taller. He's really much shorter than ML Modern Thor. And I have that figure, so I'm a bit concered, but still getting him.

These Figma Avengers weren't really meant to fit in with lines like Marvel Legends in the first place. If any do it's more of a happy coincidence.

Which I know, but some characters like Thor & Hulk, you'd expect to at least come close to Legends scale. ML haven't been all that big lately, especially since Hasbro took over. If anything I was afraid the SHF Iron Man and others would be too small. Guess I don't have to worry bout that...

Thought I would give a heads up, but if anyone is still looking for Armin, they have been popping up on Mandarake for 6000. There have also been plenty of the Cleaning Levis.

I've bought enough to know that the Bandai stuff is okay (plus not as many bootlegs exists of Figuarts and such), but it might be a good idea to avoid Nippon Yasan when it comes to GSC products for at least a while :S
