A lot of people seem to be having a hard time finding Gali. I know I haven't seen her.

Barnes & Noble actually don't carry the Bandai of Japan or Tamashii Nations stuff that Bluefin distributes, they have LEGO though.

Actually, many of them have started. Why else would I have been looking?

But yes, they do have plenty of LEGO, mine was just full of Chima instead of BIONICLE.

Yea they do I posted various pictures of figuarts AVP, Sailor Moon, Digimon, SH monsters, Gundam Robot Damishi, and all sorts of Gundam model kits. I'll repost once I get back home.

Except for Ekimu, I am really not anywhere near as excited for them as I was the winter wave. There are bits that I like, but as a whole, from what we can see, they're only so-so.

Looking forward to the villains. From what little I can see, not as nice as the Toa, but very interesting new pieces and it's great to finally have large villains for the Toa to battle. :D

I saw some of them at one of the stores I went to. I kind of want them because I was never able to get them when I was younger.

The first sets I got from this new wave are Pohatu, Kopaka, and Lewa. I got it when I went to the new area around me that has a ton of stores and restaurants and there's a target on the top floor of one of the buildings but I didn't plan on buying anything I just went up there to show a friend the area since its brand new. ended up spending $50+ on them (yeah not cheap) I wanted to get a protecter but I needed money for a movie ticket to see The Imitation Game (Really good movie about cracking the enigma machine). My favorite so far is Pohatu even though Lewa is my favorite Mata/Nuva/Phantoka.

Haha... Lower your expectations. I never got past the most rudimentary creations with ANY kind of building set.

At one point, I DID have the Gali version of Kopaka's mask (which I forget the name of), but I either lost it or had it stolen. Also swear I used to have a golden Hau... Like, right before I packed all these up. Weird.

One of the Xa-type Krana I took a silver sharpie to (it was one of those slate gray versions before). I'm thinking of taking some of my Citadel silver paint to it at some point to make it more... seamless.

And down in the lower left-hand corner is the pride of my meager collection, a copper (not really) Vau that my dad gave to me when he came home one weekend he had off from working up in Virginia. These were given out at LEGO-sponsored events at Toys R Us stores and the like. A common uncommon mask.

You really do have a mask collection to be proud of, especially that copper one! It's amazing, I would treasure one well.

I hope LEGO releases more masks in this new generation, they're always a ton of fun to collect.

Honestly that was one of the things i loved about the original line. Every Monday a bunch of my schoolmates and I would gather under the soccer goal at recess and trade and compare our masks. They were dirt cheap so we always managed to get them (though some of us did so in... less than legitimate ways), so someone was always trading for something. I actually got all those Gali masks for a single black Kaukau and... whatever the speed one is (the guy just COULD NOT pull any Onua masks).

That sounds like such fun. I quite envy you. :D

Trading masks is such a good idea. It remains to be seen if LEGO still thinks so, but I do believe they should reignite that aspect of it again.

I expect they won't be quite as cheap as they were back then, but I hope that if they expand the line further, with new versions of the Matoran and such, that they start putting out mask packs. They make a killing off of minifigures, they could easily do so with the masks again.

Though frankly I'd kill to see them update the old, iconic masks to the new standards used by the current figures. As neat as the new Kaukau is, it was the fact that Gali's mask actually looked like a piece fo SCUBA equipment that caught my eye and made an instant fan of me.

Went hardcore nostalgia last week and bought the Nui-Jaga and Tarakava. Arrived over the weekend and have been having a blast building them.

And a bunch of masks from the one guy too. Slowly but surely..

Tali, that mask collection is seriously awesome. And Comic, your pic once again made me feel an urge to buy the new Kopaka and Tahu.

It's a great line. Tahu in particular is just such a nice, balanced set. He's a good size, has great weapons and just has a very nice silhouette. I think he and Gali are the best of the line.

With the new price range of those bionicle a I'll past, I can buy 2 HG Gunpla kits with the price of One Tahu as much as I want him.

It occurs to me that the new Gali is more or less a fusion of all three of her preceding designs.

Yes, I believe the designers did say that they took inspiration from her past designs to make the mask in particular. Hence you can see a hint of the goggles, and other little fun details.

UGH. Well, my nostalgia's been tempered a bit. I just had three of those black box joint pieces that served as hands, shoulders, hips, etc. on the old figures break off at the top connection. I'm having to cannibalize a few figures just to keep the others in working condition- fortunately I have a Kopaka that's completely bare of equipment and an Onua that's missing a claw that I can break down, but... Kopaka was my second favorite. In fact for a while he was my FAVORITE, period.

Tahu is best Toa yo Fire > Ice

Not sure why, but flipping that tampographed chestplate upsidedown makes Neo-Gali look more feminine.

Funny, I'd figure you'd favor Kopaka's character over Tahu's.

Tahu was my first Toa-Mata, and my Nuva as well as my first Mistika. All the Fire Toa's are my favorite. 2nd to him is Jaller both Inika and Mahri.

I got Tahu I love him I love the mask is an update mask of the original. I need to get the others.

Because "Neo" is derived from the Greek word for "young", or "new". "Nu" is a Greek letter that has no actual relation to "new", it's just shorthand used in leetspeak or by idiots trying to look cool (see: Leetspeak).
