I on the other hand prefer the mouth because it makes him look more unique and less like Optimus Prime. But I love options when I display my figures, so I would really welcome an alternate option for the head. And I do love figures who can swap parts of their faces like deploying a faceplate, although that would be too gimmick-y for a MP and they have electronics in there already.

But man am I still excited, can’t take my eyes of that picture. I really didn’t expect prototype-pics so soon after they gave us that render again on Tuesday, but man he looks awesome.

I'm so happy about the face options for Gorilla Mode. That was everything I hoped for.

I didn’t expect those but I like them a lot as well. I generally dig the gorilla mode a lot. It’s not perfect, they had to make compromises for robot mode, but I think it looks awesome still.

Its more or less what I expected. It wouldnt have been possible to really be the cg model (thanks physics) but its as close as it gets without becoming too expensive. Now I just need a Megatron to go with it.

If they're going to do option parts for the gorilla, I think they'll do it for robot mode too. Or at least I hope so. I'll end up leaving the lips showing on mine anyways if they do, but still it's something that makes sense to do. Not like new faces are new to the Masterpiece line anyway.

Honestly, I'm glad that they were willing to compromise the gorilla mode rather than the robot mode so that the main form comes out looking all the better (*Glares at MP Megatron*).

too me it looks like heavy remold and mean heavy remold cause basic core jet transformation is there they just made it look slike a new bot and molde.

It's totally not though. All the Combiner Wars vehicles transform similarly. You just have to look at the legs to see it's not a jet remold - you can see inside them because they're hollow. The way all the jets transform, you don't see that.

Hence heavy remoulding they can remove to point just under skeleton but can early turn it to sliding legs and shuttle in arm looks how jet looks as arm

I have read many theories about Blast Off being a retool over the last few days, and he does resemble Rook in some places but he’s still a completely new mold. New tooling, new transformation. You can’t call that a retool, even if certain parts or transformation steps resemble others.

Yes, the legs look a little like Rook's. And that's it. Rook, who is an armored car, not a jet.

It's not a jet remold. This goes too far to call it that. Takara's Blast Off is its own mold.

the mount of times i see arms on side of this figure and combiner peg on the back that would normally be front of the jets still calls it as a heavy remold it does not look to me any like a new molde it looke to heavy retooled fron alpha bravo

Just read over at TFW2005 that Hasbro wants to move production to India, and people are understandably upset about this.

It's disappointing hearing that Hastak wants to go through with this.

I wonder why, though...because a lot of companies manufacture in China, and some moved to Taiwan and Vietnam...so I wonder why India?

Why manufacture anything in India? I thought India was all about cheap call centers, or at least that's what the common notion is, India's for call centers, China's for manufactured hardlines.

Apparently, it's because one of Hasbro/Takara's manufacturing guys says something along the lines of "Vietnam will be too saturated with factories, and that might be a bad thing, so get out of here and go to India"

Looks like I might have to get this guy after all. With every new pic I've increasingly gone from "that's cool, but my Transformers collecting days are mostly behind me" to "yes this is incredible and I need it."

Obviously no one's going to have a surefire answer on this, but anyone have a rough idea of pricing based on the size? The only MP I've got is Star Saber, and he might not be the best thing to estimate it with since he was huge.

Since he's between the size of a Carbot (6500¥) and Ironhide (10000¥) he should be priced somewhere between those. I expect maybe 7500-8000¥ for Primal. The prices I use are base prices by the way, you will get the usual retailer discounts. Ironhide form HLJ for example is 8000¥.

Yes Primal has electronics, but they also don’t need to pay licensing fees for a real car mode so I wouldn't expect him to be too expensive. Like, I would be surprised if he costs something really close to or more than Ironhide.

GG, Botcon you actually managed to get me to care about one of your toys.

To be honest I would've loved to see this one at retail as a BW-Anniversary kinda thing. I guess it makes more sense being a Botcon-Exclusive considering the history of this design, but yeah for someone living in Germany this will be too expensive to obtain if it is only sold at Botcon.

Even for some in the States it's going to suck. Not going to BotCon means paying aftermarket too, and given how in demand I expect this to be the people predicting it to be $200 minimum don't seem that far off to me at all. So never owning this basically. Which sucks because it's one of my favorite molds and characters combined..

Meh at least MP Primal shouldn't be too expensive ha. Glad they didn't waste much time showing off more face plates. They look great! Only minor disappointment so far is that it really seems like he won't have his flail (toy-only so probably why).
