Yeah, I feel like Eyecons aren't as hot of a commodity as some gimmick items of the past have been. I've had no problems getting any of them so far.

Except Pythagoras... I was relying too much on HLJ to put the magazine up like they did with the TV-kun that came with Ikkyu.

Getting DX eyecons are easy as butt so I wouldn't be too worried about getting it, the problem is getting those darn magazine eyecons or rare gasha stuff like the blank eyecon...which I'm still super sad I didn't get in my gasha sets :(

Well, the color on Grimm looks good, so that's good. The Eyecons look nice in general. Not gonna lie though, the glitter just looks super distracting to me now. Gonna definitely need those Gashapons.

But... It IS accurate in some capacity. Several shots of the Eyes did show them being glittery.

Anywho. Just payed for Houdini, the 3 Eyecon set, and the Mega Uloader. Also, if anyone is interested in buying the Machine Houdi from me shoot me a PM. I'm willing to be pretty generous.

Waiting on the guy who is buying the machine hoodie to pay me his part in shipping and for his Grimm/Sanzo/Himiko set. After that I can ship my own set and those and finally have all 15!

This is pretty much the clearest look we've gotten and what I'm basing accuracy off of. Compared to the toy, which has obvious silver flakes all over the place, it's pretty different. I haven't seen them look glittery in the show, but honestly even if they were like that in-show I'd still find it kind of ugly.

The toys also unfortunately appear to be a murkier shade of green for Grimm too but oh well.

I'll go back and look for some screenshots of my own when I've got time, because I'm pretty darn sure there are versions of those props used in that episode which feature the glitter effect.

I think the prop Grimm eyecon used to be a solid dark green with metallic paint, so I think that's where you might be getting that from. I could swear they used to be a solid metallic color, so maybe that metallic shine looked like glitter.

HUH. I hadn't discovered this before, but I was inspecting the Necrom Eyecon and found that on the back of both it and the Boost Eyecon, there are "reset" buttons. By using a toothpick or something to push it, regardless of what sound was queued next, it will default the toy back to the first phrase. In Boost's case the basic fiery sound, and for Necrom "Standby!"

Of course you could just more easily and quickly cycle through all the sounds in-between to get there... But I just thought this was a fun, useless, but mostly interesting little feature.

So Boost has sounds too? This is did not know.

Yeah. On its own the Eye cycles through a burning sound, sort of a... sparking sound, and an explosion. It also provides a continuous loop of that first burning sound throughout most of the standby jingles in the Ghost Driver and Sunglasslasher.

Oh damn it all. I got my order from HLj at last, SG 4 came with...three fucking Boosts. No one needs this many useless Boosts. I only got one Gaim. This is unfortunate. I'm vaguely interested in the idea of doing customs, so getting three of a completely useless Eyecon for these purposes sucks. Was hoping to use an extra Gaim for either a Baron or Kiwami Eyecon. Siiiiigh

Maybe? They weren't randomly distributed in the box, so it may be deliberate. Maybe they're trying to keep the Legend Rider Eyecon kinda rare so they're limiting it to one a box, or something. Not really sure.

Anyway, I was moderately pleased to find that the SG Boost Eyecons aren't completely useless. I thought they were like Ikkyu, where there's nothing inside, but they actually have a fully functioning face-switching mechanism. It's just they use a filler piece of plastic instead of the actual piece with space for the stickers and everything. Not ideal, but usable to an extent. Maybe if I can find a way to cut off the flame horns without it looking like crap...kinda wanting to turn this into a Napoleon.

Also, I love Gaim. Its colors are great, this thing is perfect. I was concerned the colors would look weird, but it's fantastic. I love it. It is making me seriously reconsider passing on the Legend Rider Set, because I want more Legend Rider Eyecons now. Alas, I am not made of money. Gaim is super sexy though.

The candy toy Goemon and Ryoma are pretty cool. I wish Ryoma particularly was shinier, but they are both pretty good. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the flat stickers, but having in them in hand I quite like them. There's an added element of show-accuracy and it kinda makes me want to hunt down the rest of the Eyecons in SG form. I also gotta say, I much prefer the mechanism for the candy toys over the DX one. It takes slightly more force but just with that it just feels...better, somehow. It's nice, I like it.

I also got the TV-Kun with Ikkyu. The magazine is pretty neat. I like the fact that it came with coloring pages, including some for Ghost. Incredible, really. The Ikkyu Eyecon isn't as bad as I thought it'd be. It's not great, but I don't hate it. The fact that it comes with two of the top stickers is a nice bonus, though. I'm thinking of trying to turn one of my leftover candy toy Eyecons into a proper Ikkyu...

I should probably find a real way to display these.

So... I finally caved. I told myself that I would skip the GC line or at least wait until Ghost was over and just buy a couple of figures but... I just ordered every figure available in the GC line... I got really into the last several episodes, haha. What scares me though is that we are only 17 episodes in and I have more toys coming in than I have had for every series I've collected so far. I definitely won't be able to afford anything after a while now though, haha.

Hmm...my currently big 5 GC Figure in terms of best design in my opinion:

Huh. So I was messing with my Ghost Driver, thinking about how Makoto uses his Eyecons in show. He just drops them in there, which is impossible to really do with the toys because you need to push them in to lock them in place.

But then I discovered if you just set the Eyecons sitting on top of the little clamp things, closing the Driver pushes them down and locks them in place automatically. So I thought, that's cool, it still doesn't really mean you can pull a Makoto, but it's kind of cool. Kind of clever, I thought. But then I actually tried that with the Driver turned on and...it doesn't really work? I guess the thing registers that you closed the belt before it does that there's now an Eyecon in there. So it just acts as if nothing happened (or goes Oyasumi, depending on the situation). It did work a couple of times but in general it does nothing. So that's kind of a waste.

And that is my irrelevant story of the day.

Hmm....very cool and I am really want Igor's Proto Mega Ulorder!!! But....they just release Igor's personal Eyecon and Ganma Eyecon (with 3 sound for Knife, Seiryuto, and Machine Gun)? Hmm...I think it would be more interesting if Bandai create more variation Ganma Eyecons for each Ganma from Episode 1 until Final Episode because each Ganma has different symbols just like Heroic Ghost Eyecons....and Bandai already release all Dopants Memories...

Yeah that one was a no-brainer for a Premium Bandai release. Less plastic than the normal one, no paint detail at all, just pure black. And no sounds besides the system ones since the Ganma sounds are all in the Eyecons anyways.

I took a closer look at it. I can see the tops of the letters of the names of the tags shown.

The GC Grateful looks pretty decent. Shame that it doesn't look like it can move its damn head either.
