Had my first Tamashii product break while packing everything up to take home over break.
One of Venusaur's vine whips twisted clean off of the ball joint. :( I had only just started to pull it out (and knew that this was apparently an issue and thought I was pulling it out properly having had no problems before) and all of a sudden I'm holding it. I knew something was off when I didn't feel the pop of the ball joint. I've got no idea how to fix this or pull the damn ball out of the deep socket. Will probably save it until I get home in a few days anyways... But man, this sucks. |

So I finally got Venusaur's vine whip glued and that's sitting out to dry.
Unfortunately I suffered my second ever break today. :( I was posing Beelzebumon when rearranging shelves and wanted to pop off his back pipes to put in the holstered gun... forgetting that only the bottom ones do. Sheared off a top one. The stem pulled out some so I was able to glue it back on and it was secure enough for me to try turning it and make sure it didn't glue the ball in place. Even pushed in the ball all the way and it was fine. Then I bumped it because I was too impatient to let it fully dry and it came off... >.< Now the stem is in fully and even harder to glue to and now it's sitting at home drying. Likely gonna lose all movement though. Not being a bright one today. Wow, the other one just broke off too. And that was just from turning it and totally seemed fine the other day. So that's two pieces I have to try and glue into place in a decent position... since the other one didn't hold the first time. Definitely gonna say these ball joints are too damn tight on him. |
Sucks to hear about the bad luck coming from Venusaur...
|
Oh, Venusaur is fine. Because I don't even want to try putting the vine whips back in. :P Even though the one that did break is now repaired and staying together... without trying it out in him though.
It's both of the thick back wires on Beelzemon that have broken for me now. |

From what I've heard, Beelzemon has been strewn with issues, but I never knew what since everyone always stayed so vague when it came to him... |
Would anyone like to see D-Arts figures based on Valve video game franchises like Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, Portal and Half Life or they fit the S.H Figuarts line better?
|
I personally wouldn't. That's just me, though.
Instant money for Bandai, though. TF2 characters means same mold in 2 colors. Then they can print money with HAT ACCESSORY PACKS 2 hats for $50. I can guarantee people would still buy them :p |
The NECA TF2 figures are good, but I want to see TF2 figures with better articulation and more accessories. Also I notice the paint on the NECA figures will chip off sometimes. On my D-Art wishlist, I want to see D-Arts of Ratchet & Clank, F-Zero, Soulcalibur, Assassin's Creed and any Valve video game franchise.
I was hoping we would get Soulcalibur II D-Arts to cash in on the HD re-release on XBLA and PSN. The figure line up could be this: Retail Release: Astaroth Cassandra Ivy Mitsurugi Nightmare Raphael Sophitia Talim Taki Voldo Yoshimitsu Web Exclusive: Berserker SC2 Heihachi Inferno Lizardman SC2 Link (Hoping Figma does not get in the way) SC2 Spawn Necrid I'm hoping I'm not forgetting any. |
Eh, I don't think Soul Calibur would work. Outside of Street Fighter, every fighting game has designs change with each new iteration, but with SC, it's like they hire all new character designers for each game. The differences between some characters going from 2 to 3 is like night and day.
This leads into the question, why would a company try to market the versions of their characters from a decade ago, when the franchise is still on-going? And McFarlane owns his own toy company, so I don't think Spawn would be licensed out to another company. Anywho, a D-Art I'd love to see made would have to be...Amaterasu :p |
SC2 just got a HD re-release and it's the most popular game in the series. Cashing in on it seem like a good idea to me. Bluefin did had Spawn listed down on their poll on Facebook a while back. Who knows since Todd stop giving a shit about Spawn in the past five or six years.

For those of you still up...
Omegamon reissue. Should be going live in an hour. Been a while since I did this... hopefully I get him. And got him. ^_^ Took like 30 seconds. Fastes AmiAmi checkout for me ever. |

I want Mario and Sonic, though I think a figma Mario is more likely given that Max Factory has already made Pit, Samus, and Link. |
Pretty sad to not only see no Samurai Showdown figures yet in the line but also no KOF/FF released after Terry Bogard despite a few protos of other characters shown. Was his figure really that bad?
Hope to see Street Fighter(3rd Strike, Alpha or II based), Tekken and Assassin's Creed enter this line. Marvel vs Capcom would make my day too. I think this would be the only line to do assassins creed right since undoubtedly Tamashii would utilize their vertical hip hinges to enable hip movement without being hindered with the robes |
As a big KoF/FF fan.. I was personally very disappointed in Terry Bogard. Though my main complaint lies with his head sculpt and face. It's like they tried to capture the art style from the Fatal Fury movie, and did a poor job of it at that. The face is kind of flat, awkward, and too feminine. He also seems like a bit of pin head. The articulation suffers in spots too I believe. I think, judging from how he's priced online he hasn't sold very well. If there is one figure you should get right out the door, it's the first figure in a new line.
On a positive note, I'm surprised to see Omegamon preorders have stayed open so long on amiami. I had long assumed he would be reissued and I'm glad I held myself to that. For me, finally having MetalGarurumon, WarGreymon, and Omegamon all together at last is a dream come true. Now hopefully Bandai can finally start moving forward with the Digimon line again and get some new figures out. |

Seeing how Figuarts War Machine and Iron Man turned out, if MVC D-Arts ever come out, heads will explode

I know you're talking about Okami. We should get a D-Arts Orochi. :p |
Anyone else want D-Arts Ninja Gaiden? I think Bandai would go beyond NECA and make more than 1 figure. NES version and modern versions plus some villains, like the Black Spider Clan Ninja leader.
|
Bluefin has picked up the reissue of Omnimon! He'll be out this May, for 52.99!

Speaking of Omegamon…there's a 400$ one on ebay right now…O_o

Is he going to have US STyle packaging like the rangers
|
Quote:
I'm pretty sure that's what they're gonna do here. |
I think they might use the Digimon logo from Season 1 for the US boxset. I hope he sells well enough that we will get more Digimon D-Arts. Also a Black Wargreymon renewal would be cool as well.
|
So... is D-Arts dead? Lucario and some God Eater 2 character were just announced as SHFs instead. And there's what seems to be a Mario tease from Bluefin in the SHF line.

I'm guessing it just makes more sense on Bandai's end to consolidate these lines. D-Arts as an individual line doesn't get a ton of releases. Rolling it into SHF is just a branding thing anyway. Maybe they want to avoid confusing people by having too many lines?
Either way it's not as though the figures are dead. Just that name. |
Think Ultra Act will be absorbed into Figuarts too?

So would the non humanoid Pokemon and Digimon become S.H MonsterArts figures now? Like if they ever did a figure for Greymon or the Mega Evolutions for example.

I got Elizabeth! :D |
Confirms the line is pretty much dead and being integrated into Figuarts:

Well I think it's good idea cause figuart line all felt like it should be one
|
Heads up people. Seeing as Bandai has folded the D-Arts line into S.H. Figuarts it seems this thread will now be defunct. All further discussion of D-arts figures, as they will now retroactively be S.H. Figuarts, will be directed to the S.H. Figuarts Non-Toku Thread
