The FRS Joker is P-Bandai, right? Or did it get the reverse P-Bandai treatment? (Webshop on Japan, general release everywhere else.)
Noticed some physical stores carrying him. Not just hobby shops that normally don't carry P-bandai. Like Toy stores and stuff. |
Joker, Genm and Amazing Mighty are the Preban exclusives, yes. Which physical stores are you seeing carrying him? Is it in the west? Because as an import that wouldn’t be out of the question.
|
Not a physical storefront, but BBTS has it for only $37, a buck less than the Cyclone Joker kit. Seems like some level of stock got released via wholesale.
|
Just in general the PB FRSes see good distribution and prices through BBTS I’ve found. Certainly not complaining!
|
If you're in the UK you can also pick up Joker and Genm at Gundammad.com

Need to finally build some model kits I've had I've had lying around, including Figure-Rise Zi-O, and want to a better job with them then I have in the past. What's a good suggestion for a still affordable clipper to use? I've just used nail clippers before, and that's not the prettiest way to do it.

A Mr. Basic Tool Set runs for around $25-30 and comes with a set of decent nippers if that's a good price point for you.

credit :@mhc_customs (Instagram) The lines on the Figure Rise Faiz can easily be glowed with some red glow in the dark paint, of course but how about the visor? maybe some white glow in the dark paint behind the visor? |
FRS Double is down to $27 on Amazon US right now. What a great price for these kits. The usual $40 is a little high imo, but the results are just so nice.
Someday I'll take apart double to paint the cyclone half. I really should've done it before I built it. |
I always just import directly from Japan. £20 each plus shipping is really good
|
Yeah I import directly from Japan as well, but its usually comes out to about $38 shipped. Which is about the same price as Amazon, but usually a lot sooner.

Decade pre-orders are live, and with him some pictures showing more clearly his card selection and the Decadriver gimmick!

I'm still waiting on Amazing Mighty from Amazon. I bought a Rising Mighty figuarts, so I turned the FRS I was going to use for Rising Mighty into Growing Form! This was my first time filing down plastic with the horns, but it turned out okay! My only gripe is that the bottom of the chest piece snapped. I could have spent more time making sure the paint was applied well, but I figured "Eh, it's just Growing Form" and didn't worry about it.
|
Oooh; that is really nice! The paint makes it so lush...
|
Growing Form is very underrated. Good work!
|
Honestly, I've always liked Growing Form... I really don't way to say "more" than Kuuga's other forms, because they're all so killer, but even just from that first episode alone, I've got a huge attachment to it. I've actually been wanting to see someone do exactly this custom for that reason. It's cool to see it turn out so nice. Those horns must've been pretty tricky to work with.

Compared to a full paint of Faiz or Build, customizing a Kuuga for Growing Form isn't too bad. |

So when Ryuki is released, WHICH ONE OF YOU WILL BRAVELY CONVERT IT TO RYUKI BLANK FORM. The challenge begins...... whenever Bandai starts selling. :lolol
Already looking forward to see people convert Hibiki into Kyosuke's transformed state or Kabuki. |

As for Hibiki, I was originally thinking about getting two and repainting one as Hibiki Crimson, but I just became a stay-at-home dad so I'd have to convince my wife to get me a second... And I don't think that's going to happen. |
Can someone help me figure this out? I can't put my finger on it, but something about Figure-Rise hands looks weak. Not structurally, I am more than aware that they can hold the weapons just fine, but everytime I look at the Figuarts' hands they seem more lifelike and 'strong' and I can actually think the Riders are firmly gripping their weapons but then I look at the Figure-Rise and, well, I just can't help but think they're not holding onto them as firmly.

FRS hands are slightly modified fists with a hole in the center to accommodate the weapon, so the hands are kinda static when holding a weapon. ...If that makes sense. And speaking of repaints, I'm waiting one someone to repaint the FRS Decade into Dark Decade, and Ryuki into Ryuga. Tho, that'd be pointless since Bandai is surely gonna make a Ryuga anyway. |

This is why I don't display any of my FRS holding anything!
|
I pretty much constantly have my Den-O and Ex-Aid holding their weapons and it’s pretty much perfect... though I’m not so fond of Zi-O holding his.

I think some of it comes down to how you pose them too. The Ex-aid hammer looks a little wonky in some positions, but looks fine in others. Tried to snap a few quick pics of the ones I have displayed with weapons without knocking over anything.

ah, love that Genm's paint apps
|
wait, did anyone know what the name of event that reveal Kuuga, Genm, and Joker?

Regarding Figuarts Zi-O and Geiz's lack of weapons and my issues with Figure-Rise Zi-O and Geiz's proportions, I think I've come to a solution for both problems.
They're both the same size am I correct? If so, then just switch Figure-Rise Zi-O's and Geiz's weapons to their Figuarts versions. Problem solved for that little issue. Now what about Figure-Rise Zi-O and Geiz? Ah, well here's what I've come up with. I'm not a big fan of early Figure-Rise Kamen Rider's proportions, and Zi-O and Geiz are no exceptions with their skinny abdomen sections and lanky forearms (thank goodness Bandai's getting the hang of proportions; Figure-Rise Den-O looks amazing!). However, my economical nature HATES wasting plastic I spent money on so I'm not throwing those away. I've noticed that fanmade designs for alternate Kamen Rider forms are popular forms of appreciation for the franchise, so why not create a kitbash of Zi-O and Geiz with some other plastic models to create an original form? People have done it with Gunpla and other plastic models, why not deck out Zi-O and Geiz with some sweet looking armor and stuff? Maybe give them a buster sword or something? I dunno, possibilities are endless. So that's my two cents; but the plan hinges around Figuarts Zi-O and Geiz being able to actually hold the Figure-Rise weapons, but I'm sure that's nothing sandpaper can't fix. EDIT: Bit of a favor to ask (not mandatory), but if someone owns both Figuarts and Figure-Rise versions of Zi-O and/or Geiz, could you please upload a photo of the Figuarts holding the Figure-Rise weapons? Bit curious to see what it would look like. Thanks in advance. EDIT 2: Nuts, I forgot that the Figuarts' weapon holding hands came with the P-Bandai bike. Um, does anyone know if it's possible to modify the Figure-Rise hands to fit into the Figuarts? Like, cut off the ball joints of the Figure-Rise hands and make a socket in it or something? |

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D6IV5SXV...jpg&name=large Here's what ZI-O looks with the Girade. I don't know how he's holding it but I assume it's the FRS hand. I've also seen people make a Tsukuyomi using the FRS kits, can't find it tho. But here's Geiz Revive done with the FRS. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EMJrOGqU...jpg&name=large |
