Random thought: if the rumors about the collectible theme being dinosaurs/riders is accurate, I guess that means that the hover bike that Revi uses could be a reference to Double’s Halfturbuler (given that the rumored item was Double/hawk or pterosaur and the pterosaur stamp is used to access the bike).

People are saying he breaks the 4th wall a bit, I was thinking maybe he might have some sort of akibaranger styled Gaffs.

I was also theorizing based on the Spiderman and Deadpool comparisons that they might have based Revice a little bit off of the most recent Venom film and also gotten some other story bits from Spiderman and Deadpool. There WAS a recent mention at one of the press conferences of future KR efforts being based a little off the MCU. Perhaps they are also taking cues from other marvel properties as well.

I think "Into the spider-verse" might make sense as an inspiration as well if we really are getting some Decade/Zi-O Style shenanigans again. We already had a rider going to other peoples worlds, and a rider going to other riders times, maybe the next way of trying that is to have some riders from other worlds all just show up in the same world with their own motivations. I realize thats similar to decade, but I think its a different way of going about it. No time-hops, minimal world-jumping for the main rider, more of a Ryuki/Gaim Rider War type of thing.

The more I see glances and thumbnails of Revice the more it does remind me of the first appearance Kamen Rider.

Really the only question I have is how are they gonna handle all the dragon based riders (Agito, Ryuki, Saber) or all the bug themed riders (the Showa riders, Kuuga, Blade, Kabuto, W, Zero-One) I'm not too worried about Faiz, Decade, Wizard since while they are kinda shark/Italian Stripped Bug, Dragon themed it's not their primary motif like you don't look at their designs and think that I guess they're gonna go the Zi-O route and not have EVERY Homage appear in the series or not get EVERY Primary rider to return out of suit, That'd be a logistical/budgetary nightmare as it is and that's before you factor in they did something like that not too long ago which also presumably cost a lot(I get it some people are either too expensive to get back or literally CAN'T due to schedule), and COVID is a thing, I assume they go the Ex-Aid/Zenkaiger route where there is the occasional homage to an older show but you don't need to watch the older shows to fully get Everything happening (I honestly prefer that too the Decade/Gokaiger/Zi-O route even if the dual Black henshin/Final Attack Ride Hibiki scenes will never not be awesome)

If that previous leak is accurate, then Zero-One is a Giraffe, W is an Eagle and Kuuga is…I think a lion?
The intend seems to be animal + Rider, where the animal is just an animal, not necessarily anything to do with the Rider.

I guess I'm assuming it's either just based on what they thought was visually interesting combos between animals and riders, or maybe the animals are meant to reflect the personality of the riders? It honestly seems kind of random to me at the moment (maybe it'll all make sense later?)

I guess it is possible it could actually have been picked totally randomly or for some weird or benign reason, i know toei does a lot of focus testing so that could be source of the animals chosen?

Remember Gaim is only an orange because oranges were the fruit kids liked most in focus testing (banana came in second, which gave us Baron), so clearly focus groups have a big impact on shows when it comes to themes and designs

maybe once we have the show it'll be possible to figure out the reasoning, but we also may never know tbh

I would've never guessed that about Gaim, considering the "apples to oranges" thing they had between him, and the movie villain that returned later in the show.

In modern rider a good writer in my mind is someone who implements the concepts given to them by toei and bandai naturally in the story, rather than writing around those things

There are definitely series where you can feel that the writer is shoehorning in toys or ideas they don't really care about, but while I have a few issues with gaim personally, I think Gaim does an amazing job of making the story feel really organic, you might never notice it was a show made through focus testing and executive input, it feels really coherent and natural

I wonder how many forms he'll get and which Riders they'll use. Taking the leak and what we know into account so far it seems like they're grabbing the "major" Main Riders:

Decade - Anniversary Rider

Zero-One - First Reiwa Rider

W - First Phase 2 Heisei Rider

Kuuga - First Heisei Rider

I guess by that logic they might do a Zi-O form.

Revice also uses a Pterosaur stamp in the movie that has no legend rider with it, so some of the stamps are just dinosaurs

Pteranodon isn’t a form change stamp, though, it should be said. It just summons/turns Vice into? The bike.

I won't lie, I honestly really like the decade suit

To me this is a near perfect balance of what zi-o tried to do with its legend rider forms, while also being it's own thing

The suit is sleek and cool looking, and while if you're familiar with decade it's impossible to not see decade, for younger kids in Japan or new fans who don't really know who decade is this'll just look like a cool new form

Like obviously it does look a LOT like decade, the chest plate is probabaly the one aspect I'd call a step too far and I think may earn the suit kitbash status, and with the jingle allegedly saying "passing through"... yeah that's a lot...
but I still think without the context that this is a reference to decade you might not even guess it was a reference to anything, especially if this was your first rider show
This is unlike in Zi-O where even if you just saw a picture of the suits and not the show I feel like you'd probabaly be able to guess it was trying to reference something just from how it looks, I think in z-io the issue is the big toys strapped to his shoulders lol

I also haven't heard if they even reference in the episode zero / short movie that that is a decade form in universe?

Like everyone who's seen the movie have gone "its decade!", but it sounds like it's possible that it just shows up in the episode zero thing and they just act like it's a normal form, leaving it up to fans to put the reference together instead of spelling it out for the audience (tho if someone knows if it is spelled out I'd love to know how they're handling this)

I could be totally wrong here though, escpecially since I know people have referenced Vice breaking the 4th wall, so maybe he'll function a bit like Secchan in Zenkaiger, and he'll say stuff like "what? doesn't this look a bit too familiar??" and sort of explain to new fans who the legend rider is
I think that would be fine, but tbh I think it would be weird but better for the prospects of the shows writing and plot if they just never reference legend riders outside of movies and specials, if it's a fully visual reference not reflected in the scripts it won't be able to affect the story too much

Speaking of Vice, while I don't want to dredge up the subject too much in this thread, hearing audio from him still just feels a bit weird to me, I guess I'm glad it's a more cartoony voice rather than anything too close to Kimura's actual speaking voice, maybe that'll help me distance the two in my mind, but I probabaly won't know for sure until we have full episodes to watch

In any case I think this is a good balance of being it's own form and being a legend rider form

It also kinda reminds me of the animal suit design aesthetic for zero-one? Tho it has its own energy too, maybe I'm just saying this because zero-one also had a shark lol

Yeah, the Reiwa Rider suits so far feel more like biker suits whereas most of the Heisei suits felt like NFL uniforms in a sense that the chest & shoulder armor piece is prominent sans Hibiki and Ghost.

Revi has a very soothing and relaxed voice compared to Vice.

Hmm... I do wish that suit emphasized the megalodon side more and the Decade side less, but it's not bad, it's not bad at all. I'm curious to see how they'll handle the other suits, it seems like this style of homage could lead to Revice's aesthetic being very all-over-the-place.

Megalo-Decade reminds me of Durandal, which isn't a bad thing. I like the look of it, and am curious to see how the other forms look. Just a pretty good balance between a Legend Rider form and your usual assortment of forms.

Its not bad but i’m tired with legend rider form. We almost had em in every season since gaim (and pink rider/form is aways there since ghost. But i’m not complaining).

I saw people saying it takes place before the show but is that actually true? I know Kirameiger did that but it seems like a weird decision to make this short film the chronological starting point for the big 50th anniversary show, especially since the short film's existence was basically a surprise

(Hopefully if this is the case they'll put it up on TTFC before Revice starts, like they did for kirameiger)

90% of the time Legend Rider forms aren't used in the series, so who's making you watch them? What else should side content contain? We have Legend Rider toys every year and there isn't a better place to show them off.

Doubt. The Ptera form was told not to be corresponding to any rider, and these are the same Animal + Rider list from the same list where Decade Shark and the Dark Rider-wearing 3rd rider and Showa Rider-wearing 4th rider come from. Which wouldn't match up with Wizard Owl here.
