It's the very same concept as watching a horror movie, though.
The appeal is to see how far the writer was willing to go, and to see how it all ends.
It's not my personal cup of tea, but being friends with an alarming number of horror and gore fans (I'm like the odd one out :lol), I have come to see why they like it so much.
