When I saw the other thread about M.B. and Gundam I thought that for some insane reason they were going to do an American movie. When I thought that my heart sank.
|
Zeta Gundam is awesome.
That is all. |

If Hollywood ever did a proper Gundam live action movie, where the hell would they start at? They could adapt the original if they want to start the original. Wing and G Gundam are popular with casual American fans, so they could try to adapt those two. Or they could do their own original story, but I think most fans won't like that.

If they were gonna adapt Gundam into live action movies, they would all be Wing based. Even if they got into having 5 or 6 movies, and spreading the content very thin they would still be Wing based because that's what sells. I base this mostly on the fat that the Transformers movies still have a G1 hard-on 4 (soon to be 5) installments in. If they adapted the original, they really do need a kid to play Amuro. An actual 14-16 year old to play him and someone around the age of 20 to play Char. Because that part of the story is crucial, that they're so young. To slap a 30 year old in there would honestly destroy it if they were going that route. I honestly think that 00 could be a safe bet for adaptation. A fair amount of source material to pull from if you're only doing 1 movie, easy sequel potential, you can age some of the characters a bit and not affect the story, great fight scenes and they can get a lot of nobodies to fill the roles. |

So you could theoretically make a full sized bike if you have enough parts hmmm..... |

The MK II has quickly reaffirmed it's place as my favorite Gundam.*still think the Titans colors look cooler though* |

Now I'm even happier that the Build MK II exists. What? you gotta admit that navy on black is sexy: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...156f329c5c.jpg |
I'm pretty meh on 0079 and Zeta as far as the shows go. Zeta though is when the designs started getting killer.

*sigh* Really wish the "Titans Colors" had been more consistent through the series. |
Zeta was the first Gundam show that I watched subbed. I would like to rewatch it one day and see how well it holds up.

I was 50/50 on whether or not I'd get the Barbatos. I like the design, but like most have said on here on an HG kit how sturdy will the waist be. It had me worried.
Then I saw this and all my troubles flew away.... http://www.gundamplanet.com/media/ca...arbatos-05.jpg |

So, I've recently picked up two Gundam figures, Metal Build Avalanche Exia arrived last week, and Metal Composite Gundam The Origin.
So far, they're fantastic, especially RX-78. More pics to come. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CLYtUh3UMAE1FRx.jpg:large |
i all ways want a really good rx78 kit

io9 just posted a guide to Gundam if anybody is interested in reading it!

But for $130-$150, the Metal Composite Gundam is AMAAAAAZING and totally worth it, in my opinion. |
The RG RX78 is pretty good, though a bit problematic.

Barnes and Noble are having a 25-30% off gunpla sale if anyone is interested. Saw this on the USA gunpla twitter.
|
If they are I saw no mention of it when I was there today. Besides, even if there was mine has nothing worthwhile outside of a few MGs I can't really display well due to space.

Does anyone have any opinions on G-Saviour? I remember seeing it on TV over 10 years ago and I remember it being enjoyable for how cheesy the bad acting was. For a movie that pre-dates the first Transformers live action movie by 6 or 7 years ago, the CG for the Gundams look decent for a TV movie. They look better then the zords did in the 1995 MMPR movie did.
I guess the movie can be watch the same way as the 1994 Street Fighter movie, as a guilty pleasure. |
Never seen G-saviour and I never will.

Well it can be also be a movie if you want to riff on with a group of friends on a bad movie night. The movie was pretty much ahead of it's time.

Just finished building HGUC F91 and I must say, he is fantastic. Great and flowing build process, he kicks butt as a figure, and his gimmicks are executed so well. Honestly I'd say he's probably my second favorite kit I've built next to Fenice.
I will say I hate though how none of the other 91 suits have more recent HG kits. |

I'm interested in Gundam X. But I'm not sure if the series is good or not. Should I get the DVD set and go in blind, or watch episode 1 on the down lows and donate the boxset to my library if I don't like it?

Seriously, go, watch it, now. |

Gundam X probably has my favrioute line of any Gundam series.
It's the scene where Garrod tries to activate the Gundam and says "If this works, I'll believe in god!" |
