Yup, hence why there would be no way in hell they'd have connectivity between RBY and Gen 6.

You could say this about the first iteration of a lot of game series, but how often do we see people call the original Mario bad? I feel like the Pokemon series generates a lot of bad blood between fans of the different games for no good reason.

I started with the original games and I'll freely admit that many of the later games were at least technically better, but Gen 1 was a very unique experience and the retro charm I think helps them hold up better than some of the later games (mainly anything from gen 3).

I at least look forward to be able to go back and play these again (legally) with the same group of friends and recomplete the Pokedex without the aid of online play and endless amounts of hacking. IMO, including compatibility with Bank and the later games would just ruin the point of them. I imagine most who want to play them are people like me, and those who don't are people that think it's a waste of time anyway.

Better make sure no one evolves their starter before you all start trying to complete, then.

Which is a step down from what Pokemon did with compatibility with past games. Hell, I think this gen made it a rule you can't trade shit with HMs on it.

G1 Pokemon fans have a bad nostalgia fanbase where they act like the original the best and everything else sucks. They are like the MMPR nostalgia fanboys of Pokemon. That's why G1 Pokemon has been known to cause bad blood with fans now these days.

They all felt vindicated after X and Y came out because that basically was one big giant BJ to the Gen wunners.

Yeah, I think it's cool that we're getting eShop re-releases of Generation I (And rest assured, I WILL be downloading them too), but I'm saving all my excitement for when Pokémon Z finally gets announced.

Which is annoying, but people seem to take this out on the games themselves, rather than the fans. Also in recent years, I think the Gen 3 fanboys have been just as bad, if not worse, especially since G1 gets nothing but hate in most of the core communities now.

Yup and there's not even Pokemon Stadium to let you earn extra starters or Eevee's this time :lol
