Toonami totally refuled my love for One Piece, something that hasn't surfaced since around 2007 or 08.

At the Sunrise panel at Otakon, some Bandai Entertainment license rescues were announced. Surprisingly, Sentai Filmworks license rescued The Big O.

UPDATE: FUNimation announced that they have also license rescued Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Escaflowne, and the My-HiME shows.

It's great to see a bunch of Bandai Entertainment animes go to new companies that aren't Aniplex USA. I look forward to seeing the "of the Stars" shows when they end up on Netflix (Like most of the others on the FUNimation list). I'm not familiar with Sentai Filmworks, how's their DVD pricing? I'd be interested in some well priced DVDs of s-CRY-ed and Betterman.

The question remains, unless I missed some news (which is likely, I don't keep up with anime news much), what about Gundam?! Gundam can be a success again if a company that cared got ahold of it. Age or Build Fighters needs to be airing alongside DBZ or Yugi-Oh. It can have a toy line and everything. Then for the adult fans (aside from uncut DVDs of whatever aired), get one of the old shows that was either unaired or never released stateside and put it on Toonami. I don't want to see the Gundam license go the way of Macross.

Strange that we ended up getting those rescued before you guys in the US. The first Cowboy Bebop bluray volume came out here the other week, its utterly beautiful.

Episode 4 of Penguindrum was really amusing, if totally pointless.

Everyone keeps going on about this shows deep well of depth but it's hard to get to that when the show is constructed like an episode of Family Guy. Maybe it'd be easier if I cared about Ringo, which I think I am meant to do, but they've made her so unlikeable I don't pity her, I just find her pathetic.

The ending, as usual though, had a great hook though that made me want to keep watching.

You're 4 episodes in dude, you're not supposed to like Ringo yet :lol right now she just comes across as an extremely weird and pathetic character.

One of the main things I love about Penguindrum is that nothing is really as it seems in the first episodes. Everything changes and while it's a show that admittedly you have to stick all the way through to get the full effect, the pay off is completely worth it.

Is it bad that I haven't seen Bebop yet?

Which is shocking considering it's only been the horrible Davy Back Fight arc. I'm so glad that finished last night.
