Build Fighters episode 15
That Fenice vs Star Build fight was awesome. But I'm upset that Reiji didn't beat the shit out of the chairman guy. |

I started it last night and I'm already caught up to you Algo sure didn't lie about my pace :lolol |

Episode 16 That bearded guy was actually Sei's dad? Wow. Can't wait to see his custom suit. I also love the ridiculous idea of the gunpla police. Episode 17 That Maoh vs Star Build Strike fight was intense. Seeing Mao invoke all of the martial arts tropes in trying to figure out his gunpla. One thing the show is not really clear on is how to implement systems. These random super abilities like the RG system and the solar paneled X on the Maoh's back aren't explained through what kinda stuff they put in/ on thier gunpla to make it happen. |
Inazuma eleven.
...I can't get used to this dub. There's one thing that lingers in my mind while watching... Are they gonna explain the 13 year old that's part of the secret service? |
Build Fighters episode 18
This is getting intense. That Kampfer Amazing and GM K9 fight was almost like a mobile suit battle from Unicorn in terms of the thought process and realistic feel it had. |

Build Fighters episode 19
DAMN that Sengoku Astray vs Star Build fight was some G-gundam levels of robot v robot battle. At first when he was meeting Sei and Reiji at night, I thought PPSE was gonna try to snipe Nils as a way to keep him quiet. At least the interruption this time wasn't as "Fuck you chairman" inducing as the last times, this time with only a repair break. Also, was that Black Tieria at the beginning of the episode? |
Digimon Xros Wars. Oh, the wasted potential..........

So...I'll be posting a mini tiny review here tomorrow. Anime watching resumes.

Build Fighters episode 20
I thought that with this being a spin off, that the endgame wouldn't consist of only the super humans or the crazy masked rivals being the only ones fighting. But I guess not. Also lol at Fellini using self - destruct while using a Wing suit. Episode 21 That shit was really dark. Like Gundam abusing Newtypes levels of dark. But I guess Reiji has a girlfriend now. Episode 22 Oh my fucking god can the normal F91 do all of that? And that fight with Amazing Exia was so insanely awesome. But now that the Star Build Strike and the Amazing Exia are going to be facing off in the finals, I'm torn about which suit I want to win. I love this version of the Exia but on the other hand, Star Build has been a badass through and through. Episode 23 Good to see all those fighters from earlier in the series get the chance to fight again with upgraded mechs. Also, this episode had the most random Char cameo ever lol. What's with that giant crystal at the end? And why is Yuuki in a similar get up that Aila was wearing? Does he plan to go to the edge in order to win yo promote gunpla for fun? Episode 24 You know the two things you should be the most afraid of in the Gundam Universe? Masked men and people being mind controlled to fight. Those two together are scary. And so is Dark Matter exia. Which looks like they went to the Mr Bushido school of upgrades and just put some fancy new paint and parts over the original amazing. So the reason the chairman has been so fucking petty is because if Reiji finds out who he is, hell get sent back to his home world and get arrested? That lowly mother fucker. Burn in hell you piece of shit. |
Finished Gundam Build Fighter last night and it was really great, I'll at least know all the reference and hints in Build Fighter Try now.

Serial Experiments Lain Episode 1
Where has this show been all my life and why haven't I watched it till now? It's artwork is great, that opening is just amazing, and considering how much I digged the themes of Evangelion I'm really digging the themes already being presented here. Plus I'm a sucker for cyber punkish stuff. Lain I love you already and I can't wait to watch more. G Gundam Episode 1 Oh my God the dub voices :lol Well it was, okay. I like how you pilot the Gundams with your actual body ala Gekiranger. The whole prejudice thing sounds like it could be a very interesting thing, but I doubt it'll show up again. The main story sounds interesting with the whole Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat/Rider War deal. Can't say I like the character designs a whole heck of a lot, though the Gundams do look as neat as they usual do. The characters themselves were pretty meh as well. I do have me five episode rule though, so we'll see what happens. |
Build Fighters episode 25
I'm disappointed that when the plavsky particles were going crazy that the life sized Gundam and Char zaku 2 didn't come to life. That was build fighters. It was good. I'll post my full thoughts later. |
Gundam Build Fighters Episodes 1, 2, 3
Oh how I love this show, and it feels good to be watching it again. Love the characters, love the action, love the art, I just plain love it! It's like Akibaranger but with Gundam, and not as raunchy and parodic (as well as with good old Custom Robo thrown in). Point is I love the show and I'm enjoying my second watch through. |

Build Fighters Episodes 4, 5, 6
Oh Kirara, you're too hilarious :lol And Felini continues to be my favorite character (well male wise, and overall wise. Sorry Kousaka and Mao). Love that goofball. I wish I could get women by building them model kits. It would be so cool...anywho :lol Extra lulz for the freaking Mexican Standoff of Gunpla building. Lordy lordy lordy. And...:lolol at Sei's mom. God, I don't think there's a single character I don't like in this show. Not to mention the battles, those friggen battles are just dope, especially Yuki VS Sei/Reiji. That fight is just perfection. Ahhh Build Fighters, how I love thee. |
Build Fighters Episode 7,8,9
Still not really feeling the Build Strike MK-II design. I prefer the blueish grey color, but I just prefer the overall look of the MK-I. Ahhh yes, time for the fanservice episode :lol Mao and Misaka though, kawaii desu :lol Sei's mom is wayyy too involved though. She's like Cartman when he was trying to be cupid. *Sigh* I really dislike this type of story. It's so cliche'd. Then again it led to a pretty boss fight with some awesome ass music. Andddddd Yuki looks like some villain from a Resident Evil or Metal Gear Solid game. Greco's eyes, THOSE EYES! Also is it just me or does some of the music in the show sound like it belongs in Nolan's Batman movies? Aila is such a robot. She's like Kristen Stewart level emotion level. Also, dragon Gundam crotch, that is all :lol I just love how they do everything up ala Space Jam at the tournament. It's so cheesy but awesome. And that announcer :lol To wrap this episode up, Sengoku Astray is a bad mother fucker. Oh yeah, Aila's team outfit is kinda funny but her Gundam is boss looking. A painting based on a toy based on an anime won an art contest. Life is so fun sometimes. God I love you Kousaka. Caro is still hilarious and I just love that her guard follows her even onto a slide. And just her overall reaction to Beargguy is priceless. I still don't quite get why Sei doesn't quickly put together one for Kousaka, or give her the one Reiji used in practice. But I goes it does make sense for her to try and do it with one she herself built. So good for you Kousaka-chan. God I love this show so much. |
Build Fighters 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15
Well for starters, she looks like Moegi's mom from Akibaranger. Time to get crunk though before you get rekted. Live it up boys, live it up. Still fun to see Mao and Sei kinda fanboy it up at the party. And once again let Felini work his magic His drunk magic that is :lol Actually hijinks ensue period pretty much throughout the episode. You know Kampfer means champion in German. Guess the name is truly befitting for Yuki's Gunpla. Still will never get why him being a Meijin means he has to act dickish and like some villain from a movie. But hey, show needed some form of an antagonist. Did I mention I like the Bugdum? Cause I do. Extra lulz for the whiole Felini girlfriend thing. Also, what a twist! All of this Reiji is an alien/other worldly dimensional person plot point is kinda boring, and unneeded. Godzilla Gunpla does make the fight a bit more interesting though. And zombie killing logic works on giant plastic robots too, good stuff. Chairman is a little pussy, but he's a funny little pussy. I love Reiji and Aila's interactions though, they're funny and it makes her seem less robotic. Good stuff all around. ----- Ral-san :lol 44 is an unlucky number apparently? Don't really get that but hey, I guess I'll just have to roll with it. The whole random weapon thing is pretty fun though. Heck the variety alone makes it a great watch. For crying out loud a freaking paint spray gun was put in as a weapon. That's just hilariously cool. Nothing beats the baseball game though. Giant robots playing baseball. That shit is too funny :lolol New OP time and it's great! The chairman once again continues to be hilarious. Once again, I love this guy and pretty much everybody in the show. It's filled with such fun and great characters. The whole period idea is great too. Once again I just love the variety of things. Battle royals, four ways, a baseball game, and now a race. So many great ideas with pretty much fun and great execution. Just like the show, the variety is so fun. I mean come on, we have an octopus Gundam as well as other animal themed ones. Just, just awesome. It may be stupid, but Gunpla Mafia does have a nice ring to it. And the chairman continues to act like a little kid. This episode though man, the feels are strong with it. The fight against Felini is definitely one of the best fights in the show, it coming close to rivaling Yuki VS Sei/Reiji. Overall this episode just rocks like so many of the others. |
So I decided to rewatch mobile suit Gundam one my all time fave Gundam shows. Such a classic.
|
So I watched Death Note while I was away. Good but not one of my favorites. Also the second arc is kind've boring but I think the pay off is worth it.
Anyone else realize Death Note is pretty much the Breaking Bad of anime? |

Episode 8 of Gurren Lagann, STILL FEEL THOSE FEELS, & THIS IS THE 3RD TIME I'VE SEEN IT.

Of course, the Death Note anime is completely jacked up. They took longer than necessary for the L storyline, but then rushed through the entire Near/Mello arc to the point where they even cut out scenes and characters. Not to mention they did not even bother animating the epilogue. |
Build Fighters review.
It's a good show. It's not really revolutionary in any respect asides from how unapologetic it is about the product it's selling. That's not to say that weakens the show, in fact the use of various tropes from not only Gundam but from other merchandise based anime (Yu-gi-oh in particular) is what makes this show so great. The characters are good but aren't new in any respect. I like the Build Strike Line and the Amazing Exia but that's sort of it, the other custom kits don't do it for me. That's not to say the show didn't sell me on more gunpla but I'm not a fan of their designs. My only real problem with the show is the Deus Ex Machina that is the RG system. Hell, I don't think they even explain how it was built (although it makes me think that it has an inner frame because RG also stand for real grade) |
Build Fighters 16, 17, 18
You know if I dreamt of dancing Gundams I'd probably try not to ever be awake again. Well that or actually put on some dance show or ballet with Gundams (Sei should totally take up stop motion film making). It is pretty funny though that Sei has never once given Reiji any sort of history lesson or advice on Gunpla. I know Reiji's just support to pilot but come on, it would probably help if he knew some of tricks of the trade. Then again it does lead to one of the funniest scenes of the whole show with Reiji and Aila learning how to build Gunpla. Still funny that in the show's universe they have not only Gunpla mafia but Gunpla police as well. But it's something that just adds to the overall fun of the show. Also the twist of the old man being Sei's dad isn't that surprising. It's soo easy to figure out from the minute he appears on screen for the first time. Though it does make you think what all Sei knows about his dad. Did he leave all of a sudden and his mom made up a story? Yeah...that aside, lovely episode. The joys of bringing your parent along to a tournament :lol Ahhh Mao you Brock eyed kid. Karate = Gunpla fighting skills though is kinda fun to see. The old master is a bit of a pervert though. But the fact that we have a teenager and old man talking about anime girls is pretty damn funny. Not to mention the episode produced another great fight and even some feels. Double date! Also this show has a beer named Super Fly. Life is now complete :lolol And poor Mao. Now we come to a worthy contender to beat Wing Fenice for favorite Gundam of the show: the Sniper. This thing just looks awesome. It also leads to another amazing fight. I love how strategic the brothers are in their fight. In fact the whole strategy aspect of this fight as a whole I'm a major fan of. Just moving right along aren't I! |
Macross Frontier: The False Songstress.
Despite Japan's constant use of the tool, I've never been a huge fan of compilation movies, I understand the logic of condensing a plot to get a theatrical release, but unless a show was done explicitly with that in mind, it always comes across to me as a poorly cut together version of the story, and rewatching all the footage just for a few new scenes doesn't sit right with me. That said I liked it with the Madoka ones, and I liked the unique approach for Macross Frontier. Undeniably this movie is aimed at fans of the show, it's not like the story is incoherent for newcomers or badly written, but it wastes no time in character introductions, all set up you get are a few sentences and that's it, some like Cathy, Luca or Klan don't even get that, we know they are there, but heck if they tell us why. So having loved Frontier, what did I think of the movie? I loved it as well, I liked that instead of being a simple retelling the events palyed out very differently, seeing the cast in a new adventure that yet feels familiar was great, the sense of mystery is great, and it left me wondering how everything will resolve in Sayonara No Tsubasa. And of course, the production values were great. |

I guess I just needed some sort of intro to the post... Btw, does the show remain the canon one? |
Build Fighters 19, 20
All these kids just pimping out their plastic model action figures like they're real robots (more on this in final thoughts). Just dayumn. BTW, Nills reaction to Caroline, I can't even :lol This fight though, it just screams old classic samurai battle. It's almost like something out of Kurosawa film as far as atmosphere goes. And atmosphere can make all the difference, and it affects this fight in a good way. Also, BOOM! You know if glue stops the particles I wonder what duct tape would do. Did they store a Gunpla in a satellite or a satellite like casing? Who gives somebody a trophy for a birthday present anyways? Just weird. Suddenly Mao. No it is not Kirara, it is not good at all. I'll never understand why Aila has to wear that getup. To strike fear in her opponents? To better control the plastic model kit? Yeah...it's weird. Ahhh Kirara and Fellini had their moment. How sweet. And this is why you don't try and alter somebody's body and mind. |

Ok I just finished Gundam seed story on dynasty warriors gundam reborn. I have a question is the actule anime any good due to I like the gundam design from that show.

The first SEED series is quite good, but is slow moving at first.

In fact, the show's ending was so poorly written they had to bring out a special redone version of the last episode with additional footage to make it more satisfying. Add on top that Destiny has some of the most obvious, predictable plots ever, and you have a poorly done series that started out with great potential. |
Build Fighters 21, 22, 23
Yeah so Aila can feel these particle things because she just can. Yeah...moving on. I do feel sorry for her though. She was for the most part forced into doing this and is only doing this so she doesn't have to go back to living a life of a poverty. It's pretty sad that she's basically become a slave to something she doesn't like as well as for the time being lose somebody she had come to care for. Everybody's reaction to Reiji and Aila at the end is just priceless, but who wouldn't react like that when two kids are fighting like an old married couple. So I take out they couldn't get Aila a hotel room? Or use any amount of the money she has to get one herself? Or ask to stay with Kousaka or Sei's mom? Well when in doubt tell your heartwarming/breaking story and you'll get yourself a place to stay. Now that was a great battle. I love the Gundam festival. I bloody love it. God the Chairman is such a bratty baby. Somebody should just shove a pacifier into his mouth and change his diaper. Oh Fellini how I love thee :lol And hey look, Yuuki's back. And he met/knows Sei's dad. Neato. Ahhh, this episode is such a great pre-finale one. Definitely one of the best of the show. |
