Oof. Mk 3 Birth Edition is sold out. Either I have to wait for a commercial release which will probably be expensive, or get a cheaper standard Mk 3.

If you end up giving in and opting for Mark 7 instead, I'd recommend going for the Comicave Studios version. Middleman prices make both figures cost about the same, and while you'd be losing some articulation with the Comicave version, you'd gain more accessories and a much better sculpt and paintjob.

I think it's better if I save some money and buy a Hot Toys Mark VII. But I did see a local store that sells a Midas armor, pretty tempted.

I saw a bunch of bootlegs of Tony Stark. Always curious why Iron Man is the one that has the most bootlegs. Mk 50 and 46/47 are the modt rampant.

He is what started the MCU craze for the general public after all so perhaps that status of being the flagship character plays a role in it. FYI 46 and 47 seem to be the Civil War suits and 50 in Infinity War.

I gave up and went for a normal Mk 3 instead lol. Because for that price of Birth of Iron Man mk 3, I'd rather get a Mk 3 and Advanced Suit Spider-Man.

Tony Stark and Ironman are hugely popular outside of the states, especially in Asia. Compared to the other MCU characters excluding spider-man, by a VERY large margin.

It is also easier to bootleg ironman's face compared to a human face of the other characters.

I broke down and ordered the Mark 85 Final Battle edition. Was thinking of waiting for the recently revealed "I am Iron Man" version but realized he doesn't come with a lot of accessories and most of the new ones he comes with really only allows him to recreate the final scene so I figured this would be the better option to double dip for.

So... Figuarts based on the 2019 Ne Zha movie are a thing now. I really did not see that coming.

I'm not much of a sucker for Chinese folklore but the sculpts of these translated perfectly from the on-screen models. Makes me wonder what Tamashii could deliver if they made some Disney Pixar stuff.

Was considering picking up the new Thanos but that price is telling me no. lol. Might just pick up one of those custom arms and blade sets instead.

S.H. Figuarts Omegamon Special Color Version, February 2021 release.

Very conflicted on this one. I bought the original when it was released (which by the time this new one is out will be 5 years ago - Jesus Christ) and I like it, but I do feel a bit cheated because this one has a proper white cape which appears to be wired.

If you're not familiar with the original release, it was one of the very first Figuarts to have a cloth cape. Without wires though, it instead included plastic rods you could clamp under the cape and "articulate" it that way. Which does the job. Very fiddly and weird, but it works.

But what screwed up the original release was although advertised with a proper white outside and red inside cape - every single figure produced had a miscolored pink cape. They even went so far as to photoshop the stock images after the fact to reflect this. I was pissed at the time. Probably one of the biggest fuckups I’ve seen coming from Tamashii.

So... will I buy this? Eh... I want to? But I know I don’t need it? I'm kind of over the pink cape at this point. And space becomes more of an issue the more I collect so... nah. Plus, not sure I dig the metallic paint job as much as the flat animation colors of the original.

But this figure is indeed excellent, and now it finally appears in the form it should’ve had in the first place. If you haven’t gotten a Figuarts Omegamon yet I highly recommend this one. I hope it has all the accessories of the original as well, the translucent tiny figurines of Taichi and Yamato you could have sitting on Omegamon’s shoulders are adorable.

This deco would have definitely matched better with the D-arts Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon (or the SHF reissue) but I don't think I'm interested in rebuying this figure. It's a good figure but due to the lanky-ness of the design, the figure feels a bit more fragile to handle than the typical SHF figures. Nice for those that missed out on the first release though.

I have heard a lot of great things about the Digimon Figure-Rise Standard (Amplified) line.

Maybe that would be a better buy? They've already done an Omegamon and the cape is very red!

I've only built the original release of the Omegamon kit which the Figure-rise version improved on with some slight design changes and better colour separation. It's a pretty nice kit but you won't get the same painted finish out of the box compared to the D-arts and SHFs. But that is sort of expected when comparing model kits to figures. The other thing is that the Figure-rise kits are more of a mecha-esque redesign compared to the more anime accurate figure. Depends what people are looking for.

They're also showing prototypes of SHFs of the upcoming Back-Arrow anime. The cowgirl looks nice but their mechs look even better.

They are really going for a big cross-media push with Back-Arrow. Even prominent Anime and Anime sequels don't get SHFs that soon.

The director being Tinaguchi (he did Gun X Sword) and the writer being the guy who did Fourze/Kill la kill makes me want to have big hopes for this anime.

The Tamashii Nations showing was nonexistent considering Digimon, but they do have something cool in the pipeline: A repaint / retool of D-Arts Alphamon, as a proper Alphamon Ouryuken with the angle wings and a soft goods cape.

If they ever do an update to the old Gallantmon figure, I'd be very tempted to nab that, since he's my favorite Digimon and all.

Yeah, so, I've been completely out of the western superhero movie scene for a while now and I know very little of their associated SHF lines; so when I saw little glimpses of both the SHF and movie trailer for this I was blown away by this costume design. Where is it FROM, because she looks amazing and the figure seriously captures that!

If you mean what movie it's from, it's the new Wonder Woman sequel called Wonder Woman 1984 which actually releases on Christmas day. If you're asking about comic origins, that I do not know. Haha. Seems like the first appearance in the comics is in Elseworlds: Kingdom Come.

I was sort of hoping there would be some upgrades to the figure besides paint and accessories but the cape looks good. Not sure if I'll get it though since I'm sort of into the Figure-rise standard kits too.

I will try to get it, hopefully my local retailer puts it up, they carried the Premium Color Ver. of Omegamon.

Also, it would be cool if they continue the trend and do a Premium Color Dukemon with a cloth cape next.

Very much this. Gallantmon is my favorite and his original figuart came out way before I got into collecting.

Alphamon was a perfectly good release before, so this only really makes him better. Wings, new sword, and that cape! Looks awesome.

I'm totally expecting Dukemon next.

Now if only this would lead to more actual figures and not just reissues lol.

I got my Alphamon pre-ordered; my local retailer did put it up thankfully so I’m paying middleman prices without the need of shipping and custom charges which is nice. I will get it a few months later but that's fine.

Also, I gave the interview another read, I can't confirm it since I don’t have the initial release but apparently the first release was all black molded plastic while this one is actually fully painted, aside from the joints. Give the new accessories and inflation; I think the price is actually pretty good. 3000 Yen extra isn’t too bad.
