There's more to Riders than getting toys and form changes. Acting like a character is only good or worthy because they get toys is kind of childish.

Legitimately feel like despite people getting tired of the toyetic nature of Rider and asking for less toys, they still want to latch onto toys = importance to fulfill their own complaints. It's a double standard that needs to be addressed tbh.

Rinne and spanner have almost no story at this point and side chars get more story

You expect love? From Bandai? A company whose movements we should know and be used to at this point? A soulless corporation?

Bandai figured out that only the Main Rider + Legend Rider stuff sells. Why do you think Valvarad only has two actual items specific to him? Not even his Rider form is exclusive to him because of the attachment being primarily shown off by Gotchard in its debuts.

Feel like this realization should've hit once we got to Revice where that shift really became apparent. The only real course of action here is to take it up with Bandai itself, not a bunch of strangers on the other side of the world from their operations.

I remember when we used to show Riders getting stronger by just them getting stronger, and also when new forms were actually organic to the storyline.

However, I will agree that Rinne and Spanner are underutilized, ESPECIALLY Spanner. It's clear that the writers just have no idea what to do with them at times, as if they have to come up with new reasons as to why they can't be involved in the episode's plot. It's a common issue that later Heisei and all Reiwa Riders have: the casts are too big.

I'll agree to disagree in regards to Rinne. I feel like she's been pretty solid in terms of her focus and she's been around more often than not. She has presence in terms of the cast.

Spanner though lol, yeah he's kind of just there. He gets his moments but he is not as entrenched in the ongoings of everything as Houtaro and Rinne are.

I do think it's a mistake to even lump the two together because Rinne absolutely feels like she has more prominence than Spanner in general. But also I think it's just insulting to say they're only "meat shields" is missing the point and it feels like a case of not watching the show if that's the takeaway.

The only REASON Rinne has any reason to be around is cause her dad is the creator of the driver

When do we see them AT ALL they need help each other or get help from people stronger then them

And when Hotro is around they get help with the gotcha brothers

Rinne is definitely much better off, but her storylines with Atropos and her dad have pretty much stopped and there's the recent two parter we had where they used an admittedly really fun gag to write her out of the plot. They also had that plot device where she had to charge her Alchemy Ring, so she couldn't even become a Rider until the winter movie was out long enough. Again, not nearly as bad off as Spanner, but they still have done some stuff to downplay her role.

See with this here I'm willing to attribute this to this likely being endgame/finale related stuff and this is also a weekly show. You gotta be patient and give it time. It's not going to come instantly.
