Also, I'd like to see them do a bigger Mobile Worker, like at 1/48 scale or something. The HG one is barely more detailed than a MG pilot.

I'm not against it having a spear, it's just the look of it makes it seem meh to me. Mostly because of how huge the weapon part of device is, that someone's here views it as a mace (not saying your wrong, but the preview shows Mika thrusting with it, so unless it's some all purpose weapon (which would be awesome), I'm guessing it's meant to be seen as a spear first)

Having watched at least 00, Wing, a lot of 08 MS Team, and having read the manga of Seed, do most Gundam series have princesses, or is does it just occasionally pop up?

plus, it looks like it has 4 straight edges, like a mace.

I don't recall spears having a huge end like that.

When dealing with giant humanoid robots size does matter, giving it a huge head makes sense as it's blunt force will be far more relevant than any potential edge it has. SEED played with that idea a bit too.
That said the preview does make it look like it has a thrusting mechanism, the wiki seems to support that too.

It just pops up every once in awhile. It is not in every Gundam series, but some have it. Like the ones you mentioned. UC through Char' counterattack doesn't have princesses/ female royalty relevent to the plot.

Not for me, I always sucked at this stuff. I rather buy finished figures.

No, just Wing, 00, SEED, and 08MST. And GIBO. Most of the oldest ones don't, and neither does Age.


It's really hard to fuck up a Gundam, though. You just cut the parts off the runners and then put then together. It's only a bit more complicated than a Lego set.


The HG kits? Pretty great. They're to lowest quality of gunpla, bit that's not saying much. It's less bad, ok, and great, and more like good, better, and amazing.

Awesome, I see it's pretty cheap that I might get it. It's the first time in a while that I've been into Gundam. Also it's probably the only anime of this season that has merchandise I want right now so far.

I don't own the kit yet, so I can't comment on if it is good or not. But if it is to the quality of the BF kits and the Revives/Origin ones than you're in for a really great treat.

for a kit that only costs about 12 bucks it looks great, the value proposition is definietly there.

Basically as posable as any Robot Damashii (or any other Tamashii stuff) but light due to their construction and depending on how much you like stickers that might annoy you.
But all in all great figures, and it's only 1000 yen.

Other than needing the right tools and following the instructions, gunpla isn't that hard. It's pretty simple actually once you get the hang of it.

I managed to watch IBO tonight on Hulu and so far my satisfaction has been met. The particulars of the plot will have to come with time, but the initial conflict of the episode translated fairly well within the framework of the information provided on screen. After the introduction of the Barbatos in action, I now want to add the kit to my ever increasing backlog. Gundam is one of my favorite meta-series and will undoubtedly stick with it.

I also noticed that G-Reco is on Hulu as well. Maybe I'll actually get past the fifth episode this time.

Buying pre built models or figures just takes away the fun of building one yourself. There's no greater pleasure than looking at a model that you've snapped together with your own two hands.

That's the cool thing about Gunpla: each kit is a totally unique experience to the person building it.

Never going to forget the time I fell asleep while building Nu Gundam Ver Ka... :lol

Yeah, it makes each kit really your own when you know it's your effort. I've put 4 hours into an Amazing Exia I'm going to give away for Christmas gift exchange, so it'll be much more satisfying to give that away know it'll be my work someone will receive.

I watched the premiere episode of Iron-Blooded Orphans last night. I have not seen a lot of Gundam so I cant really compare it to other seasons but I enjoyed what it had to offer. I like the visuals in the show and the initial conflict is quite interesting. Interested in seeing where the actual story will go in the next episodes.

So I was cruising Neogaf and read an IBO thread and people on there seem to think Orga is gonna betray Mika at some point in the show. You guys think this theory is legit just based on the first episode?

It's nearly impossible to tell at this point in time.

I'm not gonna give any attention to theories made after the first episode.

Well looks like I'll be getting two Gundam series on DVD.

Two? More like ALL of those for me. Zeta is my all time favorite anyway so it'll be nice to own inexpensive official releases. But ZZ, X, BF, & BFT all coming this way too? And in the same year? It's a dream come true. Will buy all of them.

I haven't seen Zeta yet, and even when I do see it I want to watch the New Translation edit. I have zero interest in ZZ, and I didn't like Try enough to get it on DVD. So just X and BF it is. Not to mention that I usually never buy shows on DVD, even if I like them. But I'll make an exception for those two.

I'll only be picking up X and Build Fighters. I found Zeta boring and have never seen ZZ.

That is a rather solid set of releases, but more importantly we get an official release of X and to a lesser degree ZZ.
