IBO is also getting an English dub in 2016. Man, I am so excited to watch this show for a second time to hear the English voices even though I haven't watched it the first time, lol. If Bandai keeps making smart decisions about DVD releases and streaming, Gundam could become one of the most prevalent animes in the western market again. |

Zeta is my second favorite Gundam series (only behind Wing), so I will be buying it for sure as long as it is on BD. I already own Bandai's DVDs from years ago, so it is pointless for me to to buy it on DVD again. ZZ is a must buy either way but I do hope that is also BD since I own the BDs from Japan despite them being raw. I've only seen one episode of X and I really couldn't get into it, but I'll give it another try. No interest in Build Fighters though and |

Episode two of IBO carries the momentum they built up from episode 1 pretty well. The action scenes are great, and it's very different from other Gundam series.
I'm also beginning to like Mikazuki and just how blunt he is, especially towards Aina. |
Episode 2 of IBO was great and a little bit more of a breather like I was hoping.
I knew going into show from the promo material that there was 4 factions, but I didn't know there was 4 economic blocs. That'll be interesting to see if factions line up with certain blocs or not. Also, I'm interested in that dude in the red coat trying to incite Mars to further rebellion. Is he part of Gjallerhorn or is he just a mole in there for a different group? It's also nice to know a little bit of why Aina wants to do the whole negotiation thing, with all the poverty and child starvation and what not. Something about Mika bleeding due to Barbatos makes me think either it'll get worse as the show goes on or he'll adapt. Either way, I'm really interested to see how this nanomachien thing pans out. |
They
It names are fucking Cookie and Cracker. I love it. |
Great second episode. This show is dark, but it's subtle too. It's not gratuitous in its violence, but it isn't unwilling to explore the subject matter in greater depth.
I see a lot of potential for the characters to develop. Here's hoping. |
That lieutenant guy doesn't want to fight children. He is in the wrong anime series then.

In the OP it shows them fighting side by side in space, so who knows what Crank is up to, but he doesn't give off the Villain vibe at all. It's most likely due to the branch he belongs to that gives him that vibe.

If IBO is getting a English dub next year then is there any chance that it would air on Toonami?

At this point, I'm less worried about it airing on Toonami and more about getting more Gundam on more streaming platforms. I talked to one girl in my Physics class about IBO, and she asked if it was on Netflix, and I said no. With my generation of people, if it's not on Netflix, your show is shit outta luck being considered popular. |

Since it is getting a dub next year, I think I'm just going to hold off on the show until that comes out on BD.

I finally watched episode 1 (yay for Crunchyroll being slow...). It was pretty good. I like how the city area of Mars looks, and Mars in general should provide some nice landscapes. The battle was perfect. Intense, some suspense in it, it showed off the sad truth that people will die, and it made our soldiers (who are kids) look strong and like competent fighters (you know, unlike a certain other show).
I like the characters for the most part. Bernstein kinda struck as me being like a Tumblr social justice warrior. But she wasn't completely in your face about it, she's like every teen who gets into a cause and finds it weird that adults don't know about it. As long as she doesn't turn into Releena 2.0 I'm fine. The soldiers are fairly nice to from what was given, though I don't really care for Orga, he just seems generic to me. Not a bad start. Looking forward to seeing episode 2. |

I like her, I have a crush on her. Probably my favorite princess-like character from a Gundam series.
Would own figure of her... Yup. |

She's decent for now. I give her credit for wanting to help prepare the Gundam. |

I like that Bernstein actually shows why she cares about the Martian people.

Something weird I found out today is that the general anime fanbase likes 00, but the gundam fanbase hates it. It's weird. I was browsing through the general anime reddit and they were having a watch through of 00 in honor of IBO coming out and the comments had nothing but positive things to say about it. I hop over to gundam forums and I feel bad for liking 00 the most. |
Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Episode 2: I am really enjoying this. It was interesting to see how Mikazuki reacted as he fought and the blood drip down from how much of a strain this is on him but how much he's fighting to protect his comrades I love. I enjoy Bernstein a lot right now and how much she wants to help out these people and how she is being smart if she thinks she was a target not to return to her father right now. Orga I am enjoying a lot too from taking the beating from his jackass superior for his whole team and wanting to riot against them too I like that he wants them to take over to make it better for them. Orga and Mika definitely remind me a lot of Worick and Nico from Gangsta just in a different setting but that's good because I really liked those characters and I really like this characters a lot too. Mikazuki and Gundam Barbatos are becoming some of my favorite characters from the Gundam series. I also am enjoying Lt. Crank as well as he doesn't like fighting against Children and the orders he's getting. The story is interesting so far, I like a lot of the underlying plots going on here.

and it's so much Gundam fans as they are Tomino fans in general. and it doesn't surprise me that Reddit unanimously hates something. either you agree with everyone or get downvoted to hell. the same can be said for 4chan as well. there is some hardcore Tomino fanboying on there too. maybe they're just mad not enough people are calling Greco a masterpiece? :P |
Still convinced that weapon is more spear than anything else, the way he used it. Really weird looking, blunt spear, though.
Orga I both like and am very wary of, if only for Mikazuki's sake. That guy is perhaps to trusting of him, but he's clearly not an idiot so I hope nothing bad will happen between the two. Wonder if this Gundam will get the standard wings upgrade, or if they'll just give him a jet booster without wings added on. |
It's a mace I mean he literally wacked it around....

IBO week 2 was a logical continuation of the first. The quality kept up and we even got a little bit of character development. It's a shame that they made Crank likeable, he's surely going to have to die. It was quite entertaining to see the Barbatos in action, swinging that mace around. |

PSA: Daisuki has Iron Blooaded Orphans in 1080p if you sign up with an account (which is free). So if you didn't know that, now you do!

I hate torrenting, it's super complicated and irritating with all the shit it brings into your computer. |
Quote:
And it's not about it being faster. I like to have digital or physical copies of the shows I watch. Now I have one for that. And I didn't have to sign up for anything. Horrible Subs is the official subs anyway, it's just a torrent-able copy. Nothing complicated about finding the link and clicking download if you ask me. Don't have to worry about streaming or load times or anything else once you have it. But that's just me. |
I use official streams because I don't want what happened to Manglobe to happen to anyone else.
