What are some key differences between the original and reissue of Kamen Rider Kabuto?

I'm not aware of any differences between SS Kabuto between its original and subsequent releases. The most dramatic difference between the two are the accurate proportions. The Shinkocchou Seihou is slightly larger, and some colors are more accurate. Heck, you can boil most of it down to accuracy. SS Kabuto also has some unique articulation like the movable pecs. |
I'm asking what's the difference between this:

They're completely different figures. The first picture is a nine year old figure that's extremely dated, and the second is the first entry in Figuarts' premium sub-brand "Shinkocchou Seihou" that deals in highly detailed, better proportioned figures.

That doesn't explain anything. I asked for whats different not metaphor.

The original Kabuto- the one on top- is superior in exactly two aspects: Affordability and Availability. The SS Kabuto- the one on the bottom- is superior in every other aspect. Detailing? Check. Paint? Check. Proportions? Check. Articulation? Check. Suit/show-accuracy? CHECK. |
Its kind of hard to compare the differences between two entirely different figures, It's an apt metaphor they are both figuarts, generations apart, except the original kabuto should go in the trash, not a museum. You can get the original for dirt cheap, but it doesn't hold up and will look really out of place next to anything but the other old riders people can't sell because an SS was released.

Thanks. I guess my question now, is, is the first one worth the $20 I paid for it?

Now, I understand someone attempted to edge in on my game. To them I have this to say: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C4RXUlxUcAAqMoc.jpg Stay out of my territory. |
I'm happy with it. I guess in the end that's what matters most.

I am confused about the hate for earlier Figuarts. Ok, so the SS figures are arguably better. The earlier figures are still Figuarts which are loads better than anything Hasbro puts out.
So they may not be the hottest newest thing. They may not be as accurate as a SS. There's STILL plenty of figures they look great with, and they still outnumber the SS line. So, my "old" Kabuto fits in with the older figures. They outnumber the new figures three to one. Are you gonna hate on the older figures who don't yet have an SS, or may never get one? It just doesn't make sense. The old Kabuto is a great figure. It might have been outclassed by the new one, but it still outclasses almost every other 6" figure on the market, EXCEPT the new one. |

Red Buster is still loads better than anything Hasbro put out. But that doesn't mean that Red Buster isn't a HUGE disappointment compared to any other Sentai Figuart. Quote:

I really don't see the bowleggedness, but I don't have the new one to compare it to.

And it makes perfect sense. We all have our own preferences. You find the old Kabuto to be suitable, and that's good, for you. Personally, I never thought for a second to add any of the pre-Ryuki SHFs to my collection because their engineering is so outdated that it'd be an eyesore, especially alongside modern figures like Blade, Gaim, and Drive. "Better than everyone else" doesn't mean much for people who want better than that- and that's what SS is. It's the creme de la creme. Quote:

I'll put it this way: the only pre-SS Kabuto figures I have are Hyper Kabuto and Sasword. Hyper Kabuto does not even belong in the same universe as the new S.S. Kabuto, even though Hyper Kabuto itself isn't a bad figure. Sasword is more or less serviceable next to the new ones.
But I'd take new versions of either of those figures in a heartbeat.....once they release TheBee, of course. EDIT: Speaking of which, I meant to post this: http://i.imgur.com/oF4HbDx.jpg |
My apologies; my camera and lighting are not very good.

That's a great Black + RX display, I love it!

Man I love this figure far more than I thought I would.

Still wondering if they're gonna make the bikes for ZO and J. I mean, they've been making them for every other Showa Rider so far.

I attempted to do a Samurai Troopers-inspired shoot with Gaim. Again.
No idea how to use these effects properly. http://i.imgur.com/sgcBRADl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kRYNCa2l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/O4MFu9tl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SN1c0Q0l.jpg |

Alpha and Omega are absolute figuart gems. Sculpting, paintwork, accessories, articulation...There's very little to fault them for. And I'm sure Sigma's gonna have the same quality.
Can only hope Amazon Neo meets these standards when it's time for S2 releases. |
And I still don't know why I dislike Alpha's headsculpt so much :lol
But I'm also very excited to see how Amazon Neo turns out. Great pictures ElConvoy :) |

PS Sorry for the bad image quality. Had to use me phone for this one. |
That is too funny. :lol

Splurged on Type Tridoron a while back. At first, I only wanted one figuart per each Rider from Drive, but seeing so many pictures and reviews of this guy made me want him and he doesn't disappoint. I love the accessory count you get with the Bonus Tires.
