Darwin's Finches, ruining Exeggutor and Sandslash, Gumshoos, making what I hope is an Ice/Fairy Hail setter.
This is quite the info reveal. |
So wouldn't this reveal of older Pokémon having new types/abilities be our first official taste of Delta species Pokémon in the main series games technically speaking? Remember that Delta species have only been seen in the TCG a long time ago.

One read of the Delta Species page on Bulbapedia later and....
No. Not technically. Not how I'm reading it. Seems like an important aspect of being a "Delta Species" is that although the altered Pokemon - which is not done through natural means anyway - has new typing, it retains its old weaknesses. Plus looking at the card art, they all still look the same. These new ones are entirely new sub-species basically. Different enough to say it's not the same thing. (Which as an aside is going to make reorganizing my living dex just oh so fun! :lol Hope we get more than gen 1 too.) |
The Z Ring will have a toy version that triggers sound effects and lights if a Z-Move is used ingame. Probably gonna be popular around here

I like the idea of alternate versions of classic Pokemon. I hope we get a couple more (But don't overdo it). I'm curious why 2 of the 3 we saw were Ice types, especially for a tropical region.
As for everything else, looks neat. I'm liking all the Pokemon, and I like how much variety they're having for the same Pokemon, like the 4 versions of Oricorio, or the 4 colors Minior can be (Finding the shiny for it will be a nightmare, though). I think the Lurantis line looks pretty neat, and it's cool to see Yungoose's evo, too. I don't quite understand the totem thing, though. Also, the Z-Move thing is interesting. I'm glad it's one for every type, rather than just one for "Special" Pokemon. I can see combining that with Mega Evo is gonna be a Sweeper's dream when that Ferrothorn or Gliscor comes out :lol |

I guess Z-Moves aren't gonna be very popular, since I don't see many players giving up Choice Items or Life Orbs for a once per battle attack, while Mega Stones will generally be the better item for the Pokemon that can do it. |

Imma put ice type Ninetails onto my team, thus adding up to four.

Ice Ninetales better have Snow Warning as it's HA to go along with normal Ninetales having Drought.
