Who knows? Maybe the show will explain it by tying it back into the cameos of the pre-Zyu Sentai symbols in Dino Thunder. We won't know for sure until the last episode. |
He makes no sense!
Okay. Well what else do I say but "Okay"? One can never and should never be surprised by the audacity of Saban and his crew. He says that most of the people are same ones from years ago, right? I'm not entirely sure. The old days new how to craft characters, stories, impressive dialogue, emotion, heart and soul. Was it all perfect? No! Perfection was not the intention. It certainly wasn't then and it isn't now. The only problem, the lack of perfection just shows-up more now. We honestly thought we couldn't get worse than Turbo, then we got Overdrive later on. We thought we couldn't get worse than that, and we got Neo-Saban now. That being said here is a minute breakdown of the episode:
- Original footage is one of the few things they do perfectly now (though Megaforce Blue should not have been among Legendary Forms). - Vekar is certainly not a replica of Vrak. He is far more flamboyant in his actions. If original footage of the two is shown later, then the two will likely be at odds with each other. - The Jayden and Jii cameos were actually decent enough. - The Maskman and Flashman usage brings up many interesting questions: Was this planned? Were the insignias seen in Dino Thunder a reason why they allowed this? Is it sloppy editing? Does Saban have the rights to permit the usage of Pre-Zyuranger teams in small doses? Will we see more "new powers"? - Theory: In all likely hood, Saban probably cannot use the entirety of Pre-Zyuranger teams (probably doesn't have the rights to do so), but a single suit change by one ranger is probably an acceptable grey area. If so, why didn't Jake and Emma do all of the other changes (Midoranger, Green Sai, DenziPink). The best idea I can come up with now is look to the suits left in. Look closely, and you can see a very vague similarity between Yellow Mask and In Space Yellow as well Pink Flash and Time Force Pink. Did the editors get confused? Did they think noone would notice? Are Maskman and Flashman connected with In Space and Time Force? - We have a monster named Matacore and a cameo by a Ranger who used a bull. Edit the Bullzord in and have it look like he is lasering Brusiers into oblivion. Do that, and it puts some mild originality into the episode and compliments the Zord-Builder toyline. If Saban wants to sell toys, the show should compliment that instead of just advertise it. He takes a risk using Ranger forms the kids won't recognize. They may want figures of them. Personally speaking, it was a good episode that did exactly what such episodes are good for: dragging at the most crucial moments imaginable. The first half was decent enough, but the second became a crying shame. Maskman, Flashman, and Dairanger should have been left out. If he wants to use Dairanger, at least save them for a special like "Clash" where we can get a decent explanation that covers the gaps in 20 years worth of history and continuity. There is clearly a thought at work here, it just seems like it struggles to execute what it wants to convey. |

I will say now, though, that if Saban is lazy enough to leave in an appearance by the Miss America suit then this will be my new favorite season of Power Rangers ever. EVER. |

Now all we need to do now is have Vrak return at some point because it feel a like he has been forgotten. |
