It seems like the people on the TVN forums are upset about it because they actually fear it'll be translated too much. You also have Toku hipsters that want Toku to be only undeground. This is why we don't have nice things in life

How can something be translated too much?

If you don't have to pause to read a pointless and pedantic TL note, it's for filthy casuals and therefore terrible. :lol

Okay, I guess, but names can go either way. Neither one is wrong though just as long as they are consistent. Sure, I would love to see the subs say Daizyujin, but if they say Great Dinosaur God, then I'm okay with that as long as they spell it that way every time. I don't want another Zechs Merquise/Zechs Merchise/Zechs Marquise situation.

TVN's subs for Den-O were annoying since they kept things untranslated. It's like that they want you to use Google when watching it or expect you to know it. Reminds me how Tokyo Pop was their manga where they left some things untranslated compare to Viz.
