Isn't Catwoman meant to be all out garbage?

That's what I've heard. I liked the tie-in issues with Night of the Owls and Death of the Family, but I haven't heard many good things about the series in general.

But Calvin Rose is awesome, and I took an oath to support him.

Animal Man is amazing, but don't even waste your time on Catwoman.

You know what else is amazing? Talon.

I'm not going to shut up about it until someone reads it.

I have no interest in Talon. I am tired of all of these Batman villains getting huge focuses as if they are gods. I'm also sick of Batman having to save every hero that has super powers when he doesn't. Batman is my favorite comic character, but he should not be saving Superman or Green Lantern every freaking time.

Sorry, my rant went off topic to my point, which I forgot. However, I just had to type it out as I really am tired of them making Batman into a god type character while everyone else has super powers but he is the one who has to save them just because he sells.

Oh, and the fact that there are like 17 Batman related titles between Batman, Detective Comics, Batwoman, Batman The Dark Knight, Batgirl, Nightwing, Batman & Robin, Batman and Superman, World's Finest (now), Justice League, Harley Quinn, Batman Eternal, Catwoman, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Talon, Batman Inc, and Batwing. I'm surprised they haven't done comics named "Cooking with Batman," "Batman's Ego Trip," and "Batman After Dark' yet.

Talon isn't about a Batman villain, though. Talon is about Calvin Rose, a man who, as a young boy, was abandoned by his alcoholic and abusive father before he ran off to join Haly's Circus as an escape artist. He was then selected to be trained as a Talon of the Court of Owls, training for this role for years. However, when his final rite of passage came, he lost sight of this fate when he was forced to kill the Talon before him. Instead of getting lost in the maze, Calvin became the first person to escape it.

On his first assignment, Calvin was ordered to end the bloodline of the late Eric Washington, the former head of the most advanced security company in the world. Although he believed he would only have to kill the CEO, 23-year-old Casey Washington, Calvin decided to abort the mission when he discovered that Casey had a daughter. Helping the two of them escape, Calvin became the first member of the Court of Owls to successfully escape their wrath.

Seven years later, after the Night of the Owls, Calvin returns to Gotham, believing the Court to have been destroyed. He learns, however, that the Court has only been crippled, and begins to work to destroy the last vestiges of the Court with Sebastian Clark, a man whose father was killed by the Court for writing a history of the Court.

Is it yet another Batman title? Yes. But that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve any attention. As a character, Calvin is really likable, and the story is very engaging, with a fast-paced flow that knows when to slow down and when to use intrigue to grab your attention. Batman rarely shows up, (at least, he rarely shows up in issues 0-7,) so it really is about Calvin.

He's not a Batman villain looking for redemption. He's a man who has spent most of his trying to escape, but has now decided to fight back.

Plus, he constantly loses his pants (and by constantly, I mean at least twice).

Talon would be far more appealing if it wasn't tied to Court of "we're going to throw this in your face as much as we can until you love it, even though it's horribly executed" Owls.

A Talon wasn't a good addition to Birds of Prey, and I doubt I'll find one a good solo title either.

Would it help if I told you that Calvin Rose wasn't undead and can talk? Or that it does delve into the inner workings of the Court (but putting a greater focus on Calvin)? Or that James Tynion IV is the writer for most of the series?

Man, I'm really desperate to get other people to read this book. :lol

Indeed it is. That's how I read it. The second (and final) volume has yet to be released, but the first volume has been out for a while, now. :D

This is BY FAR the best decision that was made for Batman V Superman to this day.

Have you ever watched Game of Thrones or the new Conan? Momoa played Khul Drago in GoT and Conan.

Anyway, no, just no. Nothing against Momoa, but this is getting ridiculous. I'm not sure if I said it here or not, but they should just change the name from Dawn of Justice to The 150 Minute Trailer for Justice League.

They are pretty much going to make the same mistake TASM2 made. It is a movie made for a sequel, not for its own story.

You didn't like Court of Owls either?!

I dunno how you can really say that, as for 90% of TASM2 it was its own movie, building on the stuff that came before, not after. It only started setting up the sequel at the end... like every franchise movie has done since like the 80s... Films structured like The Winter Soldier, TASM2 etc is just how the blockbuster landscape is sculpted these days, especially when it comes to the comicbook genre.

Marvel's cinematic universe gimmick was at first a gift, but now every film ever made is trying to have cross movie continuity it's basically turned Hollywood movies into the worlds most lavish TV episodes.

Anyway Jason Momoa is a weird choice but I like the actor and I love the character so they should be pretty suited for one another, even if physically they don't seem as much of a perfect fit.

Because TASM2 was made to bring in the Sinister Six, which will be in the next movie. Electro was there for the next movie. Harry is there really for the next movie. Rhino is there for the next movie. The whole movie exists just so the can do the next one.

While the Marvel movies do share the same continuity, they all have their own stories. You didn't see Winter Soldier leaving off without an ending that will concluded in the next movie.

It started off as quite interesting but very quickly outstayed its welcome. My biggest problem with Synder's stories (and the main reason I'm dropping Batman once Zero Year is done, besides the raised issue price) is that all of them go on for far too long than they actually need to.

...But that is exactly what the Winter Soldier did? Anyway let's just agree to disagree on this one, like 99% of everything else. :)

Of course it will happen. That was the entire point of him being left out of Justice League War. It was the plan from the beginning to give him a solo film, that's why they use Shazam as a placeholder despite him not even existing at that time during the New 52 issues the movie was based on.

... Huh. That seems slightly intelligent on DC's part.

I'm looking forward to a stand-alone Aquaman movie. He doesn't get near as much love as he deserves. I'm also looking forward to a Live-Action Wonder Woman movie. And I hope it does well, because then we might see more female leads.

I haven't read Gail Simone's run on Wonder Woman (yet), but I do enjoy her writing in general. :D

So I just watched the leaked Flash pilot and it was fantastic. Barry's appearance in Arrow very much sets the tone for the show, and then it goes on to have an great explanation for the arrival of metahumans and how things are going to pan out in future episodes. Even a teaser of Professor Zoom!. My only complaint is that already 4 people know he's the Flash, which is quite a lot for a pilot. Hopefully things won't get too crowded.

That Green Arrow cameo though. Absolutely superb - REALLY hope they're gonna get a proper crossover some day.

I don't see any problem with the costume. The MoS costume is not the best Superman costume ever, but it is still no where near the worst. This looks hardly changed at all though.

It looks like it was sewn together from a variety of multi-colored basketballs. That's my primary reason for hating it. But I also despise that movie so it informs my negative opinion of the suit further.

I don't hate MoS. I think it was a good attempt and bringing out a new Superman movie. And also remembering that super hero movies require action. However, I do have dislikes to the movie as well.

I like the costume. The classic costume will always be the best, but I like this one, and it makes sense in the context of that universe. The material is textured enough so that I'm willing to believe that it is not of this world.

But, really? They reveal the (fairly unchanged) Superman costume before Wonder Woman? That's... lame.

I haven't heard much positivity towards Green Arrow. I guess I'll have to check it out now.

Also, give Earth 2 a shot. It's a good series, and it's still ongoing (unlike Talon ;_; ).

Just the stuff written by Jeff Lemire though. Everything else regarding N52 GA is pretty bad.
