Not only did my AC Zangetsu and Rider Arms backorders come in on HLJ, I managed to grab a Ryugen as well (who they still have). Now I just need Mango/Kiwi which I have backordered and maybe a Lock Seed Bike. Is one better than the other?

Okay, I just opened my first AC figure, and WOWEEWOW it's amazing! The plastic feels so good in your hand, as do the strength of the joints. They actually feel a lot more solid in hand than Figuarts do (heavier and harder plastic) which was surprising and very welcome. I love all the details they've given him, and Arms Change is a blast to play and so very well engineered!

Now just gotta wait til Christmas to open the other three...

I got my AC Mango & Kiwi set today from CSToys Japan (they even threw in a personalized "Happy Holidays" with my name in Kanji ... top notch, made my day).

Most importantly, I got this before Den-O because he's a jerk.

Everything about the Mango Arms Change is absolute and total crap - until the final result. It just looks freakin' amazing on Baron and Zangetsu. It doesn't work for Gaim at all. Ryugen is kind of in the middle.

Kiwi feels boring and uninspired. Almost a repaint of Ichigo actually. In fact, it might be a repaint/remold of Ichigo, need to look at them more closely.

But more importantly - it proves to me that a Bravo Arms Change is NOT impossible. If Mango can pass (you can't wear it on their heads, it's not even an option, you can't even fit the headpiece inside without it not sticking together as a solid piece) as an Arms Change, there's no excuse why Bravo can't get one too.

I actually feel the opposite for that set. I like the detail on Mango, and it's a fun transformation but the final product is so crap. I like the armour, and the weapon, but what the hell is that Kinder Surprise cape? Couldn't they have had a bit of cloth that you can roll down or something for the cape? It looks so shit and unfishined.

I actually liked Kiwi way more. The chakrams are HUGE and because of the way the hands work on these toys, they are very frustrating to get in place and then to get them to STAY in place but the simplicity of Kiwi's finished product is satisfying much more in toy form than it is in the show. But I found the transformation annoying.

I'm so thrilled HLJ got in some figures! The Legend Rider Arms is still on preorder for me, but Zangetsu came in which means I'll officially have all the shown riders once they're shipped! Anyone heard news on when Kurokage and Tulip Hopper will go up for preorder?

No way Kiwi is a remould or redeco of Ichigo. Their transformations are similar, but entirely different. Plus, they just can't be. Their moulding is entirely different.

The reason Bravo can't work is not the fruit mode verses the armour mode, but the transformation as depicted by the show. It's bullshit. The torso plate literally morphs out of nowhere. Now why would they do that when there's any number of transformation schemes that would've worked and produced the EXACT same look? Cheating would be the only way to solve that, 'cuz there's no way the armour with the spikey chest is facing inward when there's a head in there. It's HAVE to cheat somehow. Not helped that the fruit mode isn't especially large, and Bravo's helmet has massive side spikes and mowhawk.

Basically, you need a spike-ridden head, huge spiked torso plate, and giant mowhawk/spike helmet all occupying the same space at once. It sucks, they obviously had ZERO intention of producing him as a physical figure. He doesn't even have a DX lock or Faceplate out, despite having his own henshin standby noise programmed into the driver. (likely to be used for a later addition) Which is weird, as he is the first to have the rock standby, he is in no way as visually simple and subdued as Kurokage and Guridon, he had a whole two-episode arch revolving around him... it's like he was gonna be a main character, but they changed it. OR he wasn't going to be a main charatcer, but then decided he would before the toyline could be reflected in concert with his show appearance. (afterall, Guridon and Kurokage beat him by an episode, and they don't get toys until next month for Guridon alone)

It's so, so weird what's going on with Bravo. I have no idea what his future holds based on the toyline, yet I have a hard time writing him off because of how unique and prominent he is. My only logical conclusion is that his prominent role is misdirection setting up for him to be killed off/lose his powers and show us "no one is safe" which would be a massive waste, and Gaim as a show REALLY doesn't seem that... dumb.

And he looks non-transformable. Despite the blackout clearly being an AC body, the armour is just too small. No way it's closing around those spikes.

I hate to say it, but it's either gonna partsform, or just be a regular-old figure.

If there are holes so the spikes stick out when the armor folds up into the durian, it's possible.

Does that mean just another store that operates on the same rules? Still new to ordering web exclusive items.

It means you either order through retailers at expensive prices (see: $50 to $75), or you know someone with a Japanese address and has an account with them.

It isn't, though, because where those holes would be is already spikes. Plus, they'd need to go through the hinge arms holding the shoulder pads, AND form around the mohawk.

I'm a Transformers fan, and I may not own every AC figure, but I know the line's MO. That is not a transformable toy. Not a solid, durable one at least, which isn't AC's game. I'm still optimistic, but I've got no unrealistic expectations. For damn sure, a show-accurate transformation is not possible.

Considering Arms Change Mango totally goes away from the premise of all the other Arms Change toys by basically having to be mid-transformed before you can put the fruit on the figure, I would assume Bravo would follow a very similar approach. Either way, I can't wait to see it!

But mango does that in the show. Morphing cape aside, the AC transforms just like the show.

Durian attaches intact, and unfolds rather practically aside form the chest, which does a Bayformers "yeah I guess it's technically possible, if it was full sized and made of a dozen moving parts" transformation verses the obscenely simple approach to other Arms. The chest spikes literally grow out of the torso plate.

I really dont care for Blood Gaim. Its alright, but Bravo? I am so tempted... please dont come out for a few months.
