Wow, that Thuy Trang likeness is actually really, really good. Probably the best in the line so far.

Being honest...these Lightning Collection waves are just getting better and better. Really liking the lineup this time around and I even think the actor likenesses have improved significantly (outside of Rocky, who just doesn't look much like Steve Cardenas to me).

The Trini and Blaze likenesses are fantastic. Rocky is.... meh.... doesn't look like him at all. If you showed that head sculpt to me and asked who it was I would never guess without context. I never watched SPD so I have no idea if the head is accurate or not.
To me, if they never started the alt head thing I wouldnt care, but now I look forward to seeing them when they get them right. If they ever stopped it would be unfortunate, but frankly I have yet to use them on display. Of course, if they release the 90s movie version of the suits I may use them on those. Oh, and it is very unfortunate that the zeo figures wont have their weapons. I was hoping they would combine like mmprs. I guess zeo gold was a special circumstance. As far as I am concerned all rangers should have their signature weapons and side arms. |

Zack - As a head it looks great, it just doesn't look like the actor. Kimberly - Again as a head it looks good. It's got a similar issue as Jason. There is this puffiness happening with them looking older then they should. Trini - I think the puffiness is still at play but it's working to the advantage of the head. Her features were kind round. Smiling helps as well. It just brings out their unique features. The paint job of the eyebrows is also an issue as it's kinda non existent. There's this huge feature of the face missing on some of the figures. -- Tried to make a 3d printed attachment to bring the heads up to mixed results. Obviously they didn't really design the necks to be seen as much. The heads are sitting up too far for my liking. Like I was saying all they really need to do is get a longer ball joint. They don't even have to redesign the necks., Though the human heads need to have the cavity higher up to compensate. MMPR White - Neck gets pretty skinny. MMPR Green - It's alright. I think in general it's the vest folk who need propping up. Psycho Blue/Red - This neck was clearly designed to be seen, so why does the helmet sit so low and hide it. BM Red/Blue - Don't really need to be propped up and but I feel it sorta makes the torso seem less big. Still the neck gets a bit thin and looks weird. Zeo Black..Gold/ MMPR Black/Red - Yeah more neck helps, others the helmets are basically sitting on the shield. MMPR Red - I feel like the MMPR Figures have more neck exposed so they don't need a prop up, LG Red - Sorta needs it higher but not that high. A good thing about them being higher is that you can make use of the full articulation. Can't wait to get these guy, have to say zeo blue is probably the big on on my list, wishing Hasbro did a bit more stylization on the civilian heads just so they avoid the uncanny valley

So... does Zeo Blue come with his weapons or not? There are no pictures of them, but the description does say "This Zeo Blue Ranger toy includes multiple character-inspired accessories, including the Blue Ranger’s Zeo Power Axes" on Hasbro Pulse. Has anyone from Hasbro commented on this?

The description is wrong and probably made before they decided to remove them. Then Hasbro never updated the info. We've seen enough of the inside of the box to know there are no Tonfas/axes.

Well...That's a bummer.
But I'll be honest, I don't remember loving Zeo that much, I know I loved the Gold Ranger but that's all. Honestly, apart from the MMPR Team, there is no other team I'm interested in. I might want one ranger or another ( Lost Galaxy or one or two rangers from Time Force) Another team I feel invested into is the Beast Morphers Team...and that's ridiculous because I don't know why x) |
They need to release... THE MOTO BROS two-pack complete with a microphone for Hunter and a turntable-mixer set for Blake. :lolol

I'm bothered by the fact that they have a retracted blade blaster sculpted and packed for the Armored Red Ranger but decided to leave them out for every single one of the MMPR releases. It's not like hasbro will ever release accessory packs how will we ever get these accessories if they continue leaving it out?

Annoying perhaps, and I'd definitely prefer an extra weapon over an unmorphed head; but unless it's something fairly significant like DC Red and Zeo Blue's personal weapons it won't get to me too much.
That example, for instance -- would I like the Blade Blaster in its other modes? Heck yeah, it's an underrated weapon and an interesting addition to the arsenal. But you can't do much with the baton modes and the sword is probably the more redundant and arbitrary of the two weapon modes. I think they made the right choice by going with the gun as the complementary weapon, and otherwise the personal weapons do just fine. For the pricepoint, I'm alright with seeing minor stuff like this dropped even if I disagree with certain decisions. |
The only justification I can give towards Zeo Blue not having his weapons is because they rarely use it and even if they do, it's Sentai footage. Rewatching older seasons a few weeks ago, I've noticed that MMPR-Turbo, they don't really have the weapon props save for select few (usually 6th Ranger weapons). Turbo did have them due to the movie but they are sparsely used. It wasn't until in Space where they fully utilized weapons for the core Rangers in US footage.

Hasbro is apparently moving away from using plastic in all toy packaging, including action figures. I'm very curious how this'll affect LC packaging in future; if it'll be all-closed or all-open. If it's the former, that'll be very unfortunate if certain paint app inconsistencies keep up...

So based on the pics from Rangerboard.
SPD Red sorta has a line dividing the visor from the forehead. It's more like an unpainted lip/undercut so I think YMMV at how much a divide it is. SPD Red's guns do combine so good job Hasbro. I don't get why Hasbro in none of it's pictures highlighted that feature. The back of the box also uses the renders with the silver gloves. No Zeo Blue doesn't have Tonfas/Axes. No the sword doesn't collapse. It's simply not possible at that size. Ignoring it's soft plastic, the blade would have nowhere to go. Also some folks would notice that the guard would have to also collapse to be accurate. It is very much an impossible prop like the MMPR Blue Lance. |
