I mean, even then, it looks like the silver parts of Gotchard's torso and shoulder armor and his scarf are the same pieces so far in both his skateboard/samurai form and his grasshopper/steam train form. And the furnace plate of his armor as well.

Yea, I really do prefer the skateboard/samurai form more than his grasshopper/steam train one. Though for the helmets so far, I think I like the pirate and ant ones the most. The top hat one and the gray one look pretty good, too. And just as I thought, the ones I feel the most 'eh' about are the animal helmets except for the ant one. The mushroom one doesn't do much for me, either, though I do like that it's pretty out there as well.

I dig how the belt works. Very neat.

So from the looks of it so far the Legend Rider cards seem to all be lvl 10 cards, so that's interesting.

This next bit isn't a leak/rumor just a theory I saw going around but we got images of non-legend Rider lvl 10 cards and the current speculation is that these might be what secondary/rival character uses.

Whoa, where did you get the card backs from? I don't think I saw anywhere else with them.

I would just like to say that visually speaking, this is hitting a lot of sweet spots for me. The use of arrows is great. The gimmick is just Build but with cards, and the way they are integrated into Gotchard is absolutely fantastic. I'm loving this more and more.

Very cool. Given that there are 9 forms, and Gotchard is clearly obsessed with 10, the 10th will be a power-up.
As for the two costumes shown: the red one is prettier, but also... more banal? In the trailer, he seemed to me a couple of times either Fourze or Drive. But everything needs to be seen in motion.

Slightly off topic, but it struck me that the scenes in the dark in Shin Kamen Rider were worse than in Faiz. I hope this is a shortcoming of Anno's directing, and not of the current era.

Yeah a few pieces are being reused, namely: gloves, scarf, the silver torso armour, the "fire" from the chestplate but not the rest of the chestplate. (The belt and card holder too ofc but those are always gonna be "permanant items" so not counting those ofc)... also kinda interestingly it seems like the undersuit for the torso is actually getting swapped out to change the line colours, as it seems to be a separate piece from the leg undersuit?

Imo my point still stands that these seem to be the most distinct full basic form changes we've had in a long time, if not ever

(I do think it's clever that they seem to be recontextuilizing what the fire is for different forms, this time it resembles the monster body for the skateboard card)

Anyways, even with all that stuff getting kept between forms I'd say a good 91% of rhe armour is different between the two forms we've seen so far, and that's wild compared to what we see in other shows (and tbh I think it's better to have a few key details stay to keep the chatacter recognizable between forms, the arrow eyes and scarf will mean the audience will always be able to recognize him as gotchard no matter how much they change the forms)

I still think the only "recent" (it's 6 years old omg) rider series to maybe have such drastically different armour between base forms is build, but I still think mix-and-match riders are kind of their own beast where things are just handled differently, so I think it's a bit of an apples and oranges there

Summing up what I've heard:
1) Hotaro is similar in personality to a mixture of Gentaro and Sougo (I guessed it!);
2) Alchemy is an important part of his personality (here Sh Ranger guessed);
3) In character and fighting style, he is also similar to Edward from Fullmetal Alchemist (Henshinzero assumed it);
4) Although Geats uses the Gotchard card, in the actual movie the new rider will only face Keilow. So in the crossover, he and Ace will get to know each other from scratch.

Looks like I was wrong about white cards being consumables, as I wouldn't recommend anybody eating their smartphones. They're hard and the batteries contain poisonous chemicals.

So, I guess white cards are more like basic inventory stuff in general, right? Like stuff people carry around, in contrast to purple vehicles which carry people around.

The main difference is that while Build has Best Matches, Gotchard only seems to have.... Matches. Like, for example, Build could use something like KumaDensha if he wanted, as there's no limit to mixing between organic and inorganic Full Bottles. But due to the symmetry of Gotchard's suits and the face-down sides of the Ride Chemy Cards, even if you alchemize 2 cards that add up to 10, they won't necessarily make a complete image in the GotcharDriver, like Kaiserbee and Burningnero doesn't but Gorillasensei and Burningnero does.

I think it would've been cool if each card had 2 different half-faces, but then people would have to actively think about which side of the GotcharDriver they need to insert it, so I guess I can understand why Toei opted for a simpler gimmick.

Funny to think they could have gotten Yu-Gi-Oh! GX's writer if they'd wanted to for this season, since he is a toku writer lol, he would have been a cool pick

GX was written by Junki Takegami, who many may know for writing: Megaranger, GoGo-V, Gaoranver, and Go-Onger

He was also a recurring writer on Tiga-Dyna-Gaia [TDG] era Ultraman, with a lot of great episodes under his belt. He also head wrote "Ultraman Neos" which Elemental Hero Neos is named after in GX fun fact (Also Chazz Priceton's Japanese name is pronounced Jun Manjome which is also possibly an ultra reference to the main character of Ultra Q.... also named Jun Manjome lol)

So would have been fun to see the toku writer who made a card game anime with toku references, write a toku with card game references

I think limiting the form options makes sense in the context of the show's lore. In chemistry, and therefore in alchemy, not all substances, when mixed, give new ones, and something useful is rarely obtained at all. Plus, already from the point of view of the plot, after getting a super-form, the basic options quickly become unnecessary, otherwise at least there is a chance to see them all.
Besides, I still hope Gotchard tries to combine the wrong cards and we end up with a creepy deformed rider.

There's one leak/rumor that I think I talked about once but got swept under the rug due to all the Decade rumors catching everyone's attention, and that's that there's also some weirdness going on with Gotchard's secondary. According to the rumors/leaks he is not a Kamen Rider but instead a pseudo-rider rival character (Machine Chaser, Night Rogue, Blood Stalk), however despite not being Kamen Rider he is still treated like the secondary & fulfills the same role.

Again grain of salt guys, but this would be pretty interesting if true.

Tbh I do like this idea, Psudo-Riders are usually a cool vibe and I'd rather not have like 16 characters with "kamen rider" in their title if possible lol

Go-Onger was my introduction to Sentai and I've generally enjoyed every show Takegami's written for the franchise. I'd be interested to see his take on Rider someday, or even just a new Sentai for the Reiwa Era.

That's true, I was disappointed that Drive Type Tridoron had 7 Tire Kakimazerls but only showed 3 of them. I suppose it's still possible that there could be 2 power-up cards with 2 different images, so depending on how you insert them, you could get something like RabbitRabbit/TankTank.

Maybe the attachment for the center port on the GotcharDriver increases the capacity for points, allowing him to use cards that exceed the sum of 10.

It was fun! Hopper reminded me of a friend of ZO and J. I hope he's not forgotten after the first quarter, I'm a fan of helper pets. Also the pirate ship made me think again about a rider without a human form. Well, at least for the beginning of the show, with the acquisition of it later.

I also read this. To be honest, it seems to me that then the character will still evolve into a full-fledged rider at some point, but it will still be an interesting and unusual dynamic.

I noticed that the trading card versions have tiny symbols corresponding to the card they match with, like Steamliner has orange and Hopper1 has purple. Similar to the Full Bottle labels.

However, there are some new symbols we haven't seen before. Karyudos and Kaiserbee have a yellow symbol and Gekiocopter has a pink symbol. Hmm, what could that mean?

I have seen some people theorize that Yellow is a Dinosaur category (which would mean that there may be more dinosaurs in Gotchard than Revice funnily enough), and the pink looks a bit like a ghost, which I am going to guess is a Yokai/Fairy type category.

It will be interesting to see what combos we'll get in the future (as well as the two remaining categories to be revealed)

Y’know if the stars align and the Decade rumor somehow ends up being true, then it’s pretty interesting that both Gotchard & Kingohger are going to have a legacy heroes show up & be prominent members of the cast for a bit.

Speaking of Decade, even if that rumor turns out to be false, based various listings & rumors, Gotchard’s 3rd Rider’s main gimmick does seem to be legend Rider cards exclusively. Assuming that is the case, it’s interesting that each Rider seems to use different types of cards: Gotchard uses 2 cards that add up to be lvl 10, the secondary seems to use lvl 10 cards exclusively, and the third Rider uses legend Rider cards which also seem to be lvl 10 so far.

I'm not knocking it, it's definitely my own personal thing, but I must admit I'm getting a little burnt out from all the references and callbacks to other riders. We're at a point in the 40-year-old franchise where you can't do anything without it being a reference to something else. The lore is just that deep.

I think that while you don't have to watch previous shows to understand what's going on, there's nothing wrong with that. The main thing is that the creators do not forget that every rider is the first for someone.
