November is pretty great with ZX and Alternative Zero.

I've patiently waited for Alternative and I am so pleased with how he looks.

Practically every Kaman Rider/Toku figure looks awesome to me. I'm not really into Kaman Rider (yet), just Super Sentai. So I don't really judge the figures based on anything other than their looks, which makes it impossible to decide which ones to buy since they are all so cool. lol. I need to watch Wizard or something. :)

So.. this event, do they only show Toku stuff?

We may get an anime or video game inspired "arts" type figure revealed as well.
Like Pokemon , Mega Man or Sailor Moon. But I could be wrong, this is really really Rider oriented so far. But it's only preview night.

As for the falling down the Rider rabbit hole because they look cool. I am guilty of that. I hope you enjoy your new discovery.

I'd love to see the characters from Devil May Cry get the Figuarts treatment.

Yeah, I nearly caved, but I have to wait until some of the other lines slow down. Too many releases lately, but I really like these latest reveals. So maybe the timing will work out well. I know I will most likely enjoy the shows so it's just a matter of time before I start watching them and have to buy a ton of figures.. lol.

I would too. I'm not a Play Arts fan. I would much prefer Figuarts to handle anything of interest. lol.

I reckon pre would work slightly better, they have designs that I just think would suit Figuarts better, not to mention all the money they could cash in on with all the weapons, Dante's timeline as he is a different age each game, all the Devil Triggers and all sorts.

I'd say that with Square Enix having that license locked up, Figuarts probably won't be in the realm of possibility for a while. D-Arts would make more sense anyway though since that's Bandai video game line.

Would it matter that the scale is different? I don't really understand how licensing works in Japan, but it seems different than America.

Speaking of new licenses, I wonder if Bandai will announce anything new for Figuarts.

I'd love to see a new Figuarts branch focused entirely on villains, I know they don't sell as well or whatever but if they're a sub part of Figuarts and have a smaller budget, so less releases but then they don't get in the way too much with the main Figuarts line, but still gave out a steady feed of iconic villains that'd be awesome.

I'm hoping for an Shf Spider-Man of some kind. Be it Toei's version or Amazing. With the Iron Man that came out I can't say it's out of the realm of possibility.

That's not quite how it works though. Figuarts itself is a brand and Bandai has offshoot lines like SRC, D-Arts, and Ultra-Act. They don't do sublines with their lines really. What you're suggesting is actually the exact the idea behind Tamashii Web Exclusives. Smaller production runs, offered to more limited audiences, because the wider market wouldn't support a full production run of a particular figure. The higher cost of producing a small run will be there no matter what for villains because they simply don't sell in the same kinds of numbers that heroes do in Japan. And if the home market for them doesn't buy them then there's no real incentive to make them more readily available outside that market. Hence why alot of villains and even other figures like older riders and obscure forms that wouldn't sell well to a mass market wind up as TWE's.

I guess then...something like the Web Exclusives only easier to get ahold of and not as ridiculously marked up :p

I knew that there'll probably never be a villain focused line, and that I'll probably end up owning very few villains, but a boy can dream.

I don't care how they do it, I just want them to start giving us more villains, especially for Sentai. Give me Junya/Gashu Skull, Jin, Shadam, Grifferzor, Rio, Mele, Bandora, Dr Kempu, Dr Bias, Zylpheeza, Salamandes, Grey, Radiguet, Zeonette, Yugande, Captain Zahab, Shelinda, etc.

This event is intended to cover all products that are under the Tamashii Nations banner. Figuarts, MonsterArts, Chogokin, Ultra-Act and so on. What's special about this year is that it's the fifth anniversary of S.H. Figuarts and so the event has a big focus on them right now and what they'll be doing with the line and its new base body. There will still be other products, stuff that's not Kamen Rider or even tokusatsu, but we haven't seen them yet. We've also only seen pictures from the preview night, not the event proper.

The various Tamashii events are also a bit more unique in that it's exclusively Bandai stuff. They occur two to three times a year under different names (usually either Tamashii Festival or Tamashii Feature's (sic)).

Thank you, I appreciate it. I still have a lot to learn about Japanese toy companies and toy shows. That's pretty awesome! I can't really think of any other major Japanese toy company except Takara off the top of my head, so it makes since that Bandai would have their own shows.

And I'd be down with an Amazon reissue, but I want the Amazon.JP release of him that came with the personalized stage. I won't settle for anything else :D

I feel you, I am always on the lookout for cool looking bikes for my cycle-less riders. I was mulling on getting enough Suzuki Hayabusa's together to compliment the whole team. there are enough surfaces on the bikes for one to mask and spray over. I'm also on the lookout for any bike that will hold Figma Femme without her falling apart. Her frame is far too small, and sadly no figuarts on the horizon. Yet.

It's not a stage. It's a sticker that you can apply to a Tamashii Stage.

The reason it's not on the frontpage right now is that it's not 100% clear it's definitely a reissue. It looks like it's taken from the SHF book or a magazine showing off all ten Showa Riders and there's no date next to it, or Skyrider.

Ah no one had ever clarified the stage bit, but still I vastly prefer personalized stages, decals or otherwise, to blank ones.

Is Birth Proto just Birth with the different paint job? Like same accessories and everything? Just wondering, because as much as it'd be cool to have Brotou and Date stood side by side, I'm not sure it's worth, to all extensive purposes, buying the same figure twice....

Birth prototype comes with a second head with a different eye color than the original Birth, and comes with the Crane Arm and the Breast Cannon, which the original Birth didn't come with

Oh wow really? That sounds like a good deal actually, especially as I can't seem to find the CLAWs set.

If CLAWs is your thing, check out the OOO combo change Birth. It's less detailed and more toy like, but comes with all of CLAWs. Plus as a toy it feels better than the Figuarts version of CLAWs which is unpainted, silver plastic like the actual toy one that looks REALLY cheap.

I didn't really care for CLAWs to be fair, it looked ridiculously shitty when all of them were used at once in the show. I just wanted a Figuart of Birth which I have now (yay!) but considering the CLAWs business were his powers, I was kinda bummed to find they were sold in a separate set I can't seem to find anywhere.

But I guess if I get Proto I at least have the breast cannon. And since he goes for like 2000 yen on Mandrake it's probably the cheaper option as well.
