I just wanna say that i'm going the Digimon frontier route and by the end of this Applebloom and Diamond Tiara will have most of the power.

Be sure not to make the other characters completely useless though.

That's a bad idea.
It really is.
It demotes the entirety of the cast to bitch status and makes it feel all their efforts, their pain, their sacrifices, were pointless and makes the character being built up (This case AB and DT) feel like they weren't deserving because they didn't earn the strengths themselves.
It's not a good way to write a story.
