Hikari Sentai Maskman 04

Well, we can add Haruka to my ever-growing list of Waifus.

The plan by the Debo this time around was.. odd, but not as odd as cooking them in a giant pizza oven (Looking at you Carranger). But I can see where it would work at grinding Japan down to a halt and causing confusion.
And they had to be placating that kid right? Those designs aren't very aerodynamic :lol .... Just saying.

And once again Great Five yes give me more of that beautiful thing.

Kyoryuger 100 Years Later - This movie was okay. It started out really bad but got better as it went along, but they really really screwed up Chaos (or this new version called Ghaos). I know he is not supposed to be the same dude, but the way they portrayed this new version was a joke. He feels more like he belongs in Go-Onger rather than this. The other thing is the movie does nothing to answer the question about where Deboss came from, which is very annoying. The second half the movie was enjoyable though and brought back the energy the series had, but to be honest, I would have rather had a team of new colors since it was a movie set in the future over them being required to have the standard ones. Overall, I give the movie a 5 or 6/10, but it was at least worth watching once.

What series are those suits and that mecha from? I don't recognize it

Anyways, about to watch Gokaiger 6. I was really digging this series until I suddenly realized that Dairen'oh is one of my favorite mecha designs in all of sentai, and that the dairanger suits are probably in my top 5. Now I really want to watch Dairanger, but I really need to stop watching a couple episodes and them moving on to another series, and actually start giving them enough time for the plots to develop.

I haven't seen the Carranger episode, but that was one of my favorite episodes of Power Rangers Turbo back when I was a kid lol

ToQGer Episode 7: This episode was brilliant for Hikari and Kagura and I love them both even more. I can definitely relate with Hikari with what happened to his Kendama, especially with the anger issues. Kagura is so sensitive and fun, she is one of my favorite pinks lately. This stamp monster was different but definitely a good way to get darkness. Also I love the Tokatti attack shades of Nossan there. I love this team and can't wait to see how they get the Diesel Ressha. Also Grita and Schwarz I love that story so much it's amazing.


Changeman Episode 1: This was a crazy first episode, Commander Ibuki's training was insane. Star King Bazoo officially beats out King Dark for larger Toku villain I've seen, Dear God half the reason I want to see more is to see how they defeat him lol. I'd like to see more of the characters but ChangeGriffin reminds me of Battle France so that's cool, and ChangeDragon reminds me of OhRed so that's cool, the others didn't do much. The minions and the villains seem to be out of horror movies, they have a very creepy and gruesome aesthetic to them. This was LFSSS's subs of it and they were very well done, I can't wait for more Changeman.


ToQGer Episode 8: That bomb guy was stupidly annoying. Diesel is a fun new Ressha and I enjoyed Right's interaction with him. I felt bad for Tokatti and the bomb on him, and then this turning into a messed up game of Hot potato lol. This was probably the weakest episode I watched so far but when you go through a long list of awesome monsters of the week to get to an annoyance does hurt but I still liked a lot from it like seeing Hikari's reaction to seeing the Conductor without Ticket on lol. Barone Nero is very interesting and seems to be great at Planning, I want to see more of him but I think General Schwarz is my favorite from the Shadow Line right now. I am excited for the Mio episode next that should be good.

Well I watched the first 10 episodes of ZyuRanger and first 6 of Maskman today. There is nothing more I can say about Zyu that I haven't already said, but this is my first time watching Maskman subbed (and the first time I've watched the show in 8 years) and it is a lot more bland than I thought it was. Akira is still the only character that stands out among the cast and the mech battles are boring as all hell. I also do not get the obsession of using females to play princes. If it was anime, that is fine as you are only hearing the actress' voice. However, it does not work in live action.

Gaoranger 12: I've returned to Gaoranger after a long break lol. The copy monster was interesting and a great plot to see copy rangers. I miss this team so I think I'll continue with this series now. Intrigued with the Gao Heart though and I love the GaoMuscle.

Gaoranger 13: Holy shit! This was the episode where things got good, hell Master Shuten should have gotten his out there sooner and with the Freezer Org they totally kicked the Gaorangers' asses. I love the feud's between Tsuetsue and GaoWhite and GaoYellow vs Yabaiba too. The playing possum against the Freezer Org was awesome too. This was great to see the characters fight even if their powers were frozen, I love seeing courage like that and seeing how big their hearts are. Also the Gao Chick is super cute! I want a plushie of it lol. This was one hell of a great episode I can't wait for more.

ToQGer 9: This was great to learn more about Mio, who is one of the strangest ones here even with Right and Kagura lol. Great seeing how she was about having a crush on someone and being all awkward about it, and even throwing Right was hilarious because he went really far. I enjoyed the Diesel-Oh too that thing is badass. Also Mio totally kicked ass this episode too. Intrigued with Barone Nero too he seems to be plotting something big here.

ToQGer 10: Well Tokatti has just became my favorite ToQGer, this episode was so brilliant for him. Also props to Japan for making a Typewriter monster in 2014. I love how clever, brilliant, and inspiring Tokatti was in this episode and enjoyed that he was training to make himself better. I loved how he taught the kid that wishing and imagining are too different things. How he countered the title against him with Right was totally awesome too. I also enjoyed that he got to ride in the main part of the Diesel-Oh and got to pilot it all by himself as well. The villains are intriguing again, I feel so bad for Grita I hope she doesn't end up with the Emperor. I have to wait till I see a lot but Tokatti might end up being my favorite Blue.

Gaoranger Episode 14: Wow this was great, I loved how it went looking very dark for the Gaorangers that Piyo came and helped save them. Their fighting spirit and wanting to keep going is actually fucking awesome. I love the Soul Bird too it was really awesome too. The end of Shuten wow, that's great to happen so soon, this new Highness Duke Ura looks really exciting. I can't wait for the next episode it's finally the arc I have been waiting for.

I finished ZyuRanger. YAY!!!

Three things I thought of during this viewing:

1. What happened to the kids whose souls were eaten by DoraGoblin?
2. OMG, I never noticed this before, but Dragon Ceasar's tail is attached to the back of King Brachion when they form Ultimate Daizyujin.
3. Man, what would it have been like to be sitting there for the first time as this showed aired when Burai died without any knowledge of it happening in advance?

Anyway, now I can turn my main focus to Maskman and start my secondary focus to MegaRanger.

BTW, in case you did not know this, GUIS finished KakuRanger today. WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm two episodes away from finishing Magiranger. I have LOVED this series. Amazing suit and monster design, TONS of mythology influence, and character development nearly every episode. Also, something I can't help but mention from episode 47...

When Smoky was the pastor who married Hikaru and Urara... "nyamen." I cringed.

I am doing a re-watch of Gokaiger before diving back into Dairanger, Megaranger, and Kakuranger. I am also going to fit Go-Buster in there since I will have a ton of free time coming up in a few weeks.

Wow you watched that show fast, sort of makes me want that much free time.

Yeah, it sucks not getting paid during the summer time, but the free time is worth it.

BTW, one other thing I thought of is that my god, every other Child of the Week had a dead parent. No wonder so many parents decide to work overseas and ditch their kids. They live longer.

Finished Magiranger! What can I say that I haven't said in the previous post... eh I'll just re-iterate: amazing suit/monster design, tons of mythology influence, and an endearing cast with character development nearly every episode. This is a series I highly recommend.

Now I'm going to finish the last ten or fifteen episodes of Gokaiger.

MagiRanger has not aged well in my eyes. I loved it when it first came out, but when I rewatched it a few years ago it just wasn't as good for me anymore. I really hate Kai and Mikoto to death. I love the villains, I love the Lovecraftian themes like Dagon and NMa, but as a whole, the series was just wasted potential. They spent more time with CGI effects than actual hand to hand combat.

The CGI was cool, but I agree on the lack of hand-to-hand combat, that was a bit disappointing. However, I felt like the characters had some really good (but repetitive at times) development, and their bond at the end made me really feel for these characters.

Watch GoGoV, it does the sibling team so much better.

I'm currently watching MegaRanger (while I have the time to spare at night), and I have to say that MFC did a superb job with the subtitles. (:

So far, it's pretty decent, though I wouldn't consider it a favourite or anything. I actually heard that the ending was amazing, so I'm totally looking forward to it.

Afterwards, I'll be delving into KakuRanger, which I've been looking forward to for a longgg time now. Am so happy that it's finally completed, the people over at GUIS should be awarded with cookies or something.

Alright. Ive downloaded Dekaranger, Gekiranger, and Go-Busters. (Along with Den-O and W). Gonna watch a batch of episodes at a time and get done quicker. That way if I think a show is stale I get to the next one refresh myself.

Dekaranger 1-18- Damn this a one great show. Sure I see the stuff that was in SPD, but the cop show with spandex suits and giant robots, oh and aliens, is amazing! Love this show!

Gekiranger 1-5- Meh. Im sorry but this show is not getting my attention like others have. Im gonna finish it in hopes it gets better and/or I finally see why everyone loves it.

Go-Busters- Ill watch it after I finish the other two and finish Den-O. So another month.

Tensou Sentai Goseiger Epic 26: The Laughing Gosei Angels

Not going to lie... this was a very weak episode. I was never a fan of comic relief filler episodes and this one is no exception. Sure the monster was cool and it acted as a nice bit of development for Hyde and Gosei Knight but outside of that it was completely mediocre. Moune got shafted in the first few seconds and Agri and Eri shortly after leaving an awkwardly acted Alata to... "humor" the audience with very odd and unfunny gags.

Hyde I love you but for the love of Gosei never laugh again... it's not your thing.

One more thing, I hate this fucking mud ball!

GaoRanger Episode 15: Well Master Org Ura has a freaking nose for his face and his eyes come out of the nose holes lol, minus his aesthetic design he intrigues me as a villain. This episode was slow but redeemed itself with Tsuetsue in tight leather clothes and the awakening of Duke Org Rouki, and from I watched of Wild Force this was the part I was excited for. Rouki is dark, menacing, and powerful everything that I don't feel from Shadow Moon in KR Black that he should be lol. Poor GaoElephant! That was saddening I hope they get him back. If I can pry myself away from Black I'll get to more GaoRanger lol.

Hole up? How long have yo been watching this now, for like a year?

Well with Kaku finally fully subbed I think it's time I restarted watching it along with Liveman.

I have watched through episode 22 of Maskman so far and I have to say that I am kind of bored. The biggest issue with the show is that there is nothing going on. It took 20 episodes to finally get to a nice multi part story, which is part of the problem. There just isn't any real story arcs going on. Yeah, there is the occasional battle between Takeru and Igam (who it seems GUIS cannot even figure our his/her actual gender in the show, nor figure out if his/her sister's name is Ian or Ial), but other than that, the show is dry when it comes to character development. In 22 episodes, Momoko and Haruka have both received only 2 episodes to develop their characters while Kenta has received 5 and Takeru three. Akira has only had three as well, but he really stands out from the rest of the cast due to his maturity level. At least there was finally an interesting mech battle. The designs of the monsters of the week are also quite bland. I also think another of the issues I have with it is its pacing is off due to everything pretty much being handed to the cast right from the get go. Don't get me wrong, I like the show, but it is not even close to being in my top 15.

I took a break for a few months, now I'm getting back to it... I do that. :lol

I was the same with Gaoranger, I just got caught up in the Riders I was watching lol.


ToQGer 11-14: These were totally amazing! Zed is such a fun and brilliant villain. I think there is some connection between him and Right. Mio had a great focus episode, and the Kendama Detective was absolutely brilliant. Right is something else, and Tokatti and Kagura are a lot of fun. 2 more episodes and I'm all caught up with ToQGer.

What? You still have like sevenish episodes left.

I started on Episode 17 and have watched since then. I went back to play catch up so I'm done at 16.

I've been doing that wih the original Kamen Rider series. I'll watch like 1-4 episodes every so often, and I'm currently up to 22. It's not like there is any reason to rush through it.

Anyway, I'm finished episode 25 of Maskman yesterday and I've come to realize this is not a series I can just sit there and plow through. I wish I could, but it is just so damn dry and uninteresting. Now, episode 25 was pretty good, but it seems like all of the Akira episodes are good. The rest of the cast is bland as hell. Hell, I'm not even sure what is going on with Kenta as in his first "I need a girl" episode he falls in love with Miyuki and decides it is best to not get involved with her until after Tube is defeated so he would not endanger her. Three or four episodes later, he is back to hitting on another girl. WTF?!

Gaoranger Episode 16-17: I love Rouki he is that kind of Noble/Savage character, I liked that he tended to GaoWhite when she was hurt showing that he is something else. This would be better if I already didn't know who Rouki was because of Wild Force. Yeah his Power Animals are freaking deadly. I loved how Blue took care of that child and was trying to protect White, I really like him more now. Poor GaoElephant and Giraffe, I am interested in seeing how this Rouki arc goes, because I don't remember Wild Force that well so it should still be some surprises for me.

Just marathoned the last three episodes of Kakuranger, finally putting that show to bed. On the whole, I liked the show. I think I preferred Dairanger and Zyuranger more, overall, but I think Kakuranger still ranks pretty high up there for me. I hope someone subs Ohranger at some point so I can finish off the Sugimura Quartet.

So now that I'm done with Fourze, caught up on Gaim, and waiting for OOO to download, I decided to load up some Akibaranger to my iPod last night to watch on my breaks.

I got to Episode 5 last night. Damn that hurt.

Still on Gokaiger; after I finish it I'll probably tackle Akibaranger Season Tsuu. (in addition to the toku/anime I've started and need to finish)

I love KakuRanger, so it is going to be awesome when I watch the whole thing subtitled. It is my second favorite sentai series.
