The dangers of overhyping something.

Maybe if it wasn't twenty episodes too long and wasn't annoying to watch.

Agito is an excellent example how how terrible pacing combined with terrible sound design can kill a series. Every episode feels EXACTLY THE SAME because of the music tracks used with no variation to how they're edited in combined with every episode being basically the same premise and sequence of events.

Plus Agito himself is a terrible character, just smiling like an idiot oblivious to most things that aren't directly accociated with him and totally apathetic to the plight of anyone who's not himself or maybe that annoying girl who acts about as well as I riverdance.

Which is to say terribly.

Agito is at best a decent series, but there's literally nothign there that's "great" except the themesong... which the show replaces with a garbage half-techno version later.

The greatest example of Agito's flaws is Gills. People say he has such a great character arc, and while it is tehre, it's painfully stretched out to the point where it's so thin it's practically see-through. Most of the time he just screams or hell yell at people "WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE *ship's name*!?" and notting getting any answers.

I almost finished Agito. I think I had three episode left, but I couldn't. I seriously cannot fathom why anyone would find it entertaining. When it's not "OH SO MYSTERIOUS LOOK AT THE MYSTERY" it's eye-rollingly predictable and people always say it's the best series but never say why.

The crossover portion of Mega Max didn't really sway me that much, I mean the action was great and what have you but I've not seen any Showa Rider other than Black so all the cameos did nothing for me, this is why I never cared for Gokaiger.

And the final villain was absolutely rubbish, he died in about five minutes and the combination of Fourze and Os was fucking UGLY. He looked like a dildo with bits of table cloth hanging off him.

But seeing OOO become a fucking tank near the end was worth it.

OOO why didn't you use Tajador's scanning charge?

Os had lots of cool moments throughout the whole film but the film was way too overstuffed, I would have honestly rather had the W and Legendary Rider stuff cut out as it was just fanservice and added nothing to the plot, along with the shitty Rider from the future and Gen's first boner.

The reason for the Legendary Rider stuff was because KR was celebrating it's 40th Anniversary.
It wasn't necessary beyond just advertising the switches, but I love seeing Amazon (My personal favorite Showa Rider) :p

I know why they are there, but they take up hell of a lot of the film for just being cameos and while OOO is over there trying to create a satisfying epilogue to its series, Mega Max is just bombing shit in everywhere.

The pacing was ultimately atrocious and the only part of the film I thought was genuinely 'good' was OOOs portion and even then all that shit with the random Rider of the future ended up wasting so much precious time none of the OOOs epilogue really provided any kind of closure anyway, if anything we're left with more questions by the end of that.

Ah well, maybe because I didn't expect anything of Megamax I enjoyed the fanservice and cameos and other stuff they did. (Plus I skipped the Fourze section since I don't know him)

I guess that means all you have left is OOO Wonderful and Let's Go Kamen Riders?

I'll wait until I've finished Den-O in a few months time to watch Let's Go but I have OOO Wonderful ready to go.

I think Let's Go is accessible to a viewer who doesn't know much about Den-O, since it hardly shares much connection to the series, but I guess it would help to get acquainted with the Den-O characters who do appear.

Decided to try and fnish up Fourze, its gettin better than when I quit before, now that Meteor is here, I just like to see the bickerin between those two :lol

Really I thought when Meteor was introduced when the show really started to go down hill, I mean it's more like down mountain with how near flawless the opening third was and Meteor was a great secondary Rider but I just felt like the whole show fell to bits.

Yea, Im not sure what my full opinion of Fourze is, I just love the designs and characters, the story, eh. At least we finally have a new horoscope now, I was getting tired of hearin about it.

You won't like the story or the characters by the end, you'll also be well and truly sick of the Horoscopes as well.

Whereas in the first third they tried to elevate the characters above their own silly goofiness and make them about something, the final third especially reduces them to paper thin caricatures which is a shame because I had my arms wide open to accept Gen as my new favourite main Rider (my favourite main Rider is Eiji for the record).

The story...was clearly not planned out, makes very little sense and the stuff that rarely does work is rushed to such extremes it ends up meaning fuck all.

Also the Horoscopes, despite all their build up in the first third are by the final third reduced to monsters of the week, which undermines pretty much all of the character arcs of both the heroes and the villains.

Yea Ive heard Fourze loses it after awhile, but I need to see for myself how bad it is. :lol btw Eiji is tied with Shotaro as my favorite. :lol

But one question, what in the friggin hell is the teacher wearin suspenders in the show for? He does nothin but be an a-hole to Gentarou and creep on the female teachers?

Like pretty much the whole Rider club, he has a running gag and that is it for his character. So his suspenders are there so he gets to do something, basically.

At least he has those or Id call him the a-hole teacher instead of suspenders. :lol

I have to say, magnet states has got to be the crapiest design for the suits, I mean, all they did was add shoulder pads and small shoulder cannons to base states, you cant even tell it changed colors from white to grey/silver. Granted I dont care much for Elek or Fire states either.

I hated all of Fourze's upgrades, except Cosmic States (but that was fucking ugly). Because Base States allowed him access to all the switches, his "upgrade" forms, actually extremely limited his power sets, rather than powering them up and the show seems to recognise them as useless as well, as they are barely used, even when Cosmic States appears which is a true upgrade to Base States, Base is still the most used form.

I would rather just see the elek, fire, magent, cosmic, whatever else it he uses, see them used as regular weapons on base states, I love base states but if I had to choose another state itd be Fire just for the color :lol

I actually found the switches more fun when used by Meteor to add elements to his martial arts.

So far hes only used elek, does he use different switches or just the form change ones?

From what I remember he just uses the electric, fire and magnet ones sadly. But he punches people with planets so who the hell needs switches? :p Just a shame Meteor Storm is rubbish, luckily it never feels like he's skipping over his far superior base form.

From what Ive seen, not much besides the shf, but Meteor Storm looks like Ryusei and Goku fused :lol

Oh and I think youre the one who said, but I like the kung fu yells when he fights too. :lol

Not only does it look bland, but it reduces a Rider who combines Bruce Lee fighting with Planets to a Rider who fights with a curtain rail and a beyblade.

That doesnt even sound good, the hell does he do, launch the beyblade and hockey puck it with the curtain rail? :lol

Sadly that really is pretty much completely accurate... there is even a point in the series where he uses his powers to win a golf match...

I wish I was kidding... The final third of Fourze really is pretty bad and it seems to only be worse the more I think on it.

Oh well Ill finish it and figure out how bad it is, after I finish this though I wonder which I should watch next, either try to start Wizard or somethin else, Im not really sure maybe Den-O just to get the fuss over Momotaros :lol

I can't really speak for Den-O but Wizard is...okay.

Wizard has a LOT of pacing issues, which you can for the most part ignore when marathoning it but ever since I caught up to the show it's been painful.

Haruto is also a really great main Rider, haters be damned.

Back to Black, HOLY SHIT COPS THAT ACTUALLY DON'T SUCK. Seriously, crack shot McGraw there totally noscoped the sword from that guy's hand and saved that woman without Black's help. Am I in a parallel universe? Too bad the sword is what makes people evil. Don't pick that up lawman!

I have one question... (Well concerning episodes 25 and 26 of Fourze)

Why, why, why! Did we go through on awesome leave-out episode for Shun and Miu , granted I even loved this episode for the way it shows the characters, that and Miu isnt that bad looking

But why in the heck did they go through what they went through for them to just show back up in the last 10 seconds and say "We're stayin! Even after we almost killed each other because we are damn hardheaded to say who we like so we go through all the prom crap so we can leave and even have an awesome 'final' battle and then shw back up not even a day later!"

Seriously, this was starting to be one of my favorite episodes, until the ending.

What, and change the show's status quo? That's crazy talk, that is.

Finished Kiva and that was a great and awesome ending. I love this series between this and OOO I don't know which is my favorite.

Randomly after watching Superhero Taisen I'm watching Decade and not hating it. Loved episodes 2 and 3 with Kuuga. Didn't like much of the Kiva episode so far.

Yeah this shit pissed me off as well, and despite undermining a great exit from the show, is there actually any reason for them to stick around? NOPE. They do nothing for the rest of the show.
