Krillin sounds like a little girl.
Vegeta sounds like a little boy. and like I said Goku sounds like an old lady trying really hard to take a dump. |
Yeah...a lot of them just don't do it for me. DBZ is one of the shows I still prefer having the dub for over the subs.

Aldnoah.Zero
Aldnoah.Zero went from "SUPER HYPE BEFORE THE SHOW STARTED" To... "Huh this show is actually decent, but wow that ENDING!"... And now "What the heck is going on anymore?" Seriously Aldnoah.Zero is starting become a more action packed anime than your typical good Gen Urobuchi written stories even though the writers changed in season one it still had the Urobuchi feel to it, and now I feel like the show is just another space mecha anime. Yuki Yuna Is a Hero! So Yuki Yuna This magical girl show is really good, it has that same shocked/wow factor that Madoka had, but what I liked about the show it still kept the heart felt go lucky happy tone to it, when it gets dark it get darks, when it wants to be silly it can, when you want to feel the emotions it really draws you in. It maybe 12episodes short but the pacing was done pretty well. This show actually out ranks Madoka for me. |

Also, another thing the dub messes up is that Krillin and Yajirobe are supposed to have the same voice. McFarland sounds nothing like Sonny. Vegeta sounds like a prince in the Japanese version. In the dub he sounds like someone who has throat cancer. Some English voices I love, some I hate. I don't hate any of the Japanese voices at all. However, if they actually gave DB and DBZ an accurate script, did not just add in their own dialog just for the sake of having dialog, and the voices for Freeza (Linda's), Vegeta, and Boo did not suck, I wouldn't mine watching it in English. Granted, I can tolerate Sabat's voice for Vegeta in Kai and BoG, but that is because he toned down the Drummond voice and sounds slightly more natural. On the other hand, I do prefer the English voices for Satan, Imperfect Cell, and the Ginyu Force more than their Japanese ones. However, like I said, the script is what really ruins the dub for me. ANd Freeza. That is why I hope to the gods they have Chris Ayres return as Freeza in Revival F. If they don't, I will not watch the movie dubbed. |

yea chris was a far better freezer. i thunk he will be linda is one if the olddst va at funnimation and she coukd not keep up with mouth flap of freezer in kai so they recast her with chris so i can see him coming back. |

Seems like Super Sonico is getting an English dub and Jessica Nigri is voicing the main character.

Gundam 00 episode 39: Woah, Ribbons was the 0 Gundam pilot? That's pretty cool. It's painfully obvious that Anew is an Innovator, though - there's not much else you could be with a name like Anew Returner.

Hulu if you got it. |
Currently 15 episodes into Heartcatch precure, enjoying it alot so far and the fairies of this season aren't annoying as some of the others so far.
|
Completely forgot that Season 2 of JoJo's Stardust Crusaders started this month, so I caught up by watching the three new episodes. Iggy's exactly as I expected, but nothing prepared for the freakin perfect episode of the Oingo Boingo-Brothers. Seriously, absolutely perfect, the ending was so awesome.
And: Custom endings! There's hope for Holy Diver after all. |
It's been a while since I've seen this but I'm watching Samurai Deeper Kyo.

Let's take a quick look at what I had to check this time...
Tales of Zestiria: Ufotable delivered a visually beautiful special, that is accompanies with a simple but enjoyable enough story that require no game knowledge, all in all it's only 40min, and the world it's set in its worth the time by itself. Tsukimonogatari: I dig them Monogataris. You might dig them Monogataris. If not, then you should dig the Monogataris. Yuri Kuma Arashi: The guy behind Mawaru Penguindrum did this. So, there is a ton of symbolism, wtf moments and bizarre worldbuilding, the first ep was a riot on shock value alone, but the next two don't really seem to be building to anything in particular, and are quite repetitive. It's still more fun than boring anyways. Q Transformers: Short web episodes where Optimus, Bee and Lockdown comment on the changes they'd do to the franchise! It's pretty funny, though even if there are raws and summaries, there doesn't seem to be proper subs so far. Kantai Collection: Moe boat girls in a school like setting! Sometimes there are battles! Yay. I think most people know whether they want to check it or not at first glance, I found episode 1 sleep-inducing, but 2 managed to be more entertaining and moved more, it's all about the growth of the lead from clumsy to confident. Aldnoah.Zero 2: So... I wasn't huge on S1, and the wait for S2 made me even more apathetic, it more or less rolls the same way as S1, with the same exact structure, for better or worse. Military: 3 minutes comedy where a regualr dude is more or less harrased by overly moefied tank operators. It's a bunch of inocherent elements that aims only at being random and never truly funny. Saekano: Episode 0 is meta as heck, the cocnept of fourth wall is more than broken in it, but it's not necessarily done in a smart way, they jusst limit themselves top point out the intentional flaws they left. 1 fares better, being a straightforward comedy, with a more regular setup, the characters are fun enough, and it was far more enjoyable than 0. Ansatsu Kyoushitsu: Students try to kill teacher... SOLD!!!! As dark as the premise sounds, it actually was rather lighthearted and even heartwarming, the teacher is superpowered alien, and the studens fight with toy weapons that are harmless to humans but not the teacher. It's a riot from beginning to end, and a really cool way to handle such a bizarre premise. Cinderella Girls: It's well done. I don't seem to be able to say much from a critical pov, but it is enjoyable, and both eps were solid in general. |
Yugioh GX episode 1
Time to take a look at one of my most nostalgic shows to see if it still holds up. I will still be referring to the characters by their english names. Except for season 4 exclusive characters. I watched this subbed so it was quite the difference. The music, names, voices, duel interface were all different. I don't like Syrus or Crowler's voices. Crowler's got a weird French or Spanish thing going on for some reason and Syrus is ridiculously high pitched. But I like Jaden's voice so far. And god damn the duels are slower then I remember. It took 1 episode to take what? 5 turns? |
so i caught up with FT and fairy tail. and i started another anime called the testament of new sister devil powers. this anime is yet again one where any female protagnist or co protagnist full under the echi realm of anime. dont get me wrong the story behind this is intresting i want say much but why is it every anime that involves demons and sucubuss and hero knight and what not all ways echi anime.

Weekly update:
Naruto: *BLAHHHHH* Such filler. Much garbage. So waste time. Tokyo Ghoul: Alriiight, we've established how much time has passed, which has things making a little more sense. And some nice development showing how everyone's choosing to progress the state of affairs... or not... after that first battle against Anteiku. But most importantly we saw that Kaneki might not have snapped so much as we think he has, but that's not going to help him as people start to realize who he is. Overall, good development episode. Log Horizon: ...So... female Shiroe... wut? Aldnoah.Zero: ...What even is going on here. Okay so maybe this helped redeem Slaine a little bit for me, but it still did kind of come out of nowhere. I know his actions all along have been pretty much like that, but this time I was sure he was being straightforward. Instead we get another flip. With again, no foreshadowing or build up. But how he did it was pretty cool... DRRR!!x2: So is that girl supernatural or not? Anywho, this one finally clicked into place all of the timeline jumping that had been going on, so I think I see how it all went down now. That had been kind of annoying. Hopefully it goes a little more linear from here on out. One Piece: So things slowed down a little and this episode had very little action, but that's fine given what we've been seeing. Sabo finally just saying his name and getting the placard introduction was just as silly as the manga, since we've known for a while who he is. Ah, but the ending with Doflamingo... Some nice setup there. Also watched three of the Digimon movies this weekend: Diaboromon's Revenge, Adventurer's Battle, and Runaway Locomon. They were all pretty alright. |
Gundam 00 S2 15 and 16
Okay, I can accept the Trans-Am allowing Setsuna to mind meld with Marinia and hear her song or some BS like that, but how the hell was Al-Sachez able to hear it? Or Klauss? It just makes no damn sense. But at least the Masurao is pretty cool. |

Or because nakama or some shit, anime loves this trope. Don't get me wrong, I love Gundam 00. It does pull some nonsense out of nowhere, though. |
Sailor Moon R The Movie - A pretty decent movie that really goes into the realm of yaoi, but I'd rather have that then Chibi Usa trying to make out with Mamoru. EW!!! The music is quite good, especially "Moon Revenge," which is an awesome song and one of the best from the series. One of the better movies based on an anime out there and it has some good battle scenes even if it does get a little cliche. I give it a 7/10 stars. I can not wait to hear Viz's dub of it and for them to finally release it remastered because my god this video looks faded out.

Gundam 00 ep. 19
It's great to see one of the original Thrones back, even if it is my least favorite of the three. Why doesn't Tieria immediately figure out that Anew is an Innovator when Revive (god these characters have stupid names) takes off her helmet? He knows that the Innovators are clones, he should've put two and two together and gone to the bridge to try and stop her. Also, I have trouble taking the Innovators seriously as a threat when a Gadessa and/or Garazzo gets destroyed in almost every episode. ep. 20 I never thought I'd be sad to see a character go that I borderline disliked for her entire time on screen. Also, Red Haro is almost on Gold Haro levels of win after that 0-Raiser thing he pulled. |
