And the site is crashing for me. Oh well.
|
All I'm getting is login failures and server errors for the past 20+ minutes. Farthest I've gotten is adding Alternative Zero and Mazinkaiser and trying to log in, but no farther. I think Alternative Zero sold out already, but now the listing won't even come up so who the hell knows.
EDIT: As of 12:30 and the site is working, more or less. All three Figuarts are sold out though. |
I got ZX but Alternative Zero sold out before I could get to it. Looking at the other preorders it's a perfect storm of interest, what with the One Piece and other Zeroes. This is the worst preorder at AmiAmi I've seen.

Tamashii listings are up on HLJ, with all three Figuarts still available. http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljlist?ItemGroup=BANCOL1311 EDIT: And Hobby Search (no discount compared to AmiAmi this time though): http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10236947 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10236946 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10236948 |
Yeah I put an order in at HLJ for Alternative Zero until I hit a AmiAmi restock.

FYI, as of 1:20ish PST, literally every single thing that went up as part of the Tamashii drop tonight is currently sold out on AmiAmi, even the three rereleases (Thanatos, Mewtwo and the Robot Spirits figure). Damn. |
is it just me or is Hobby Search not working tonight? I kept getting 500 internal server problem when I'm trying to finalize the order

Alternative Zero and ZX are back up on AmiAmi! Blue Spader too! Go go go!
As of 2:55 PST, ZX sold out again (for now, perhaps) but Alternative Zero and Blue Spader are still up. |

Yeah I had Alt Zero on figinstock and got him. Blue Spader I have no interest in.
|
How are the paint apps on your guys Red and Green rangers? I finally got them out of the clutch of customs and I have to say im quite disappointed. Red is certainly a step up, his weapons are largely fantastic but the paint apps on Green are really scruffy, the weapons especially seem very sloppy.
|
I haven't had a chance to open my Tyranno Ranger yet but I had no problems with Dragon Ranger's accessories.

The only paint issue I have is what looks like dirt on one of my TyrannoRanger's boot. THe other TyrannoRanger and DragonRanger are perfectly fine.
|
Looks like I got a dud then >.<

The only problem I had is that the first time I put Hellfried in Dragon Ranger's hands, it seems some of the gold paint rubbed onto the inside. I can't see any damage on Hellfried, but there appears to be a little bit of gold on the inside of Dragon Ranger's hands. Not a big issue, just something I noticed. Since then I've had Dragon Ranger hold Hellfried multiple times with no sign of the problem occurring again. |
Another problem I have noticed is their white parts are damn dirty, in some places even scuffed.

Well AmiAmi sucked a big one last night, I got the product pages for RD Deathscythe Hell and Alternative Zero to load ONCE each, hit the add to cart button, and I never got the site to work for me again for the rest of the night.
So I tried Hobby Search, and I'd get the same 500 error instead of an order confirmation, so I gave up for the night and went to bed. Tried HS again just now, and got my order placed. Deathscythe Hell, Alternative Zero and I went ahead and grabbed Blue Spader cuz I'm a sucker. |
I am officially on board in the Mandarake appreciation bandwagon as a cool place to get Figuarts for good prices and stuff.
Ordered at the beginning of the week a DekaRed, DekaBlue, and DekaGreen from them (all from the same store of course to avoid extra shipping costs as people told me about). And the package arrived yesterday morning on EMS shipping. It costed all together around $100, which was way cheaper than what I see DekaBlue and DekaGreen alone going for usually. Now I just need to find a DekaYellow and DekaPink to complete the DekaRanger Figuarts. Unless they ever plan to make DekaBreak, DekaMaster, and even DekaSwan in Figuats form. |

I have the same problem with my Dragon Ranger. I spent about 15 minutes one afternoon trying to get the flute in the right position and the hand the holds the handle ended up with all of this gold staining on it. I gave up after that and put it away.
|
I couldn't even get Tommy to hold the flute properly without popping off the hand or positioning him in such a way that at the right angle you could trick your eyes enough to convince it was right, when in reality it couldn't be further away. You had one job Bandai, how'd you fuck that up? He can't even do his iconic pose.
|
He CAN do it though, it just takes a bit of patience and tweaking. Myself and plenty of other members on the board have been able to pull it off.
|
Yeah but surely that isn't the point, as it's his iconic pose it shouldn't take hours of careful prodding to achieve, it should be something that naturally can be done with it. I dunno why people are so quick to defend a line, when it makes huge goofs like this.
The figure is great, minus the shoddy paint apps on mine, but I would have really liked an extra joint or a different kind of socket so I could easily drop him in and out of the pose naturally, until then the whole human movement thing is bunkem. |
Because I don't consider having to take a little time to get a pose a lot of other figures of that price range can't achieve a "huge goof"? It took about 5-10 mins to get right, not hours.
|
But every other pose can be done in a matter of seconds, so ten minutes to achieve his signature pose, which should be the most natural pose of all is ridiculous.
|
It didnt even take that long. I knew it was a big fuss, so it was the first thing i had to try right out of the box.

I freely admit I'm not the best poser around though :lol
|
Well if you don't like it, go out and buy a different Dragon Ranger that can do his signature pose.
Oh wait... that's right, you can't. |
Like I've disclaimed many a time, the figure is great, it's just a shame that such a crucial pose is such a pain in the ass, I've got the knack down now though, you have to pop the hand loose and basically balance it on the peg to get proper lip to flute action.

I don't have any problem posing him. Nor do I have to remove any limbs to do so. |

Dunno what I'm doing wrong then, or the many others who have had problems *shrug*.
